15:1 その後、アブサロムは戦車と馬、ならびに五十人の護衛兵を自分のために整えた。 15:2 アブサロムは朝早く起き、城門への道の傍らに立った。争いがあり、王に裁定を求めに来る者をだれかれなく呼び止めて、その出身地を尋ね、「僕はイスラエル諸部族の一つに属しています」と答えると、 15:3 アブサロムはその人に向かってこう言うことにしていた。「いいか。お前の訴えは正しいし、弁護できる。だがあの王の下では聞いてくれる者はいない。」 15:4 アブサロムは、こうも言った。「わたしがこの地の裁き人であれば、争い事や申し立てのある者を皆、正当に裁いてやれるのに。」 15:5 また、彼に近づいて礼をする者があれば、手を差し伸べて彼を抱き、口づけした。 15:6 アブサロムは、王に裁定を求めてやって来るイスラエル人すべてにこのようにふるまい、イスラエルの人々の心を盗み取った。 15:7 四十歳になった年の終わりにアブサロムは王に願った。「主への誓願を果たすため、ヘブロンに行かせてください。 15:8 僕はアラムのゲシュルに滞在していたとき、もし主がわたしをエルサレムに連れ戻してくださるなら主に仕える、と誓いました。」 15:9 王が「平和に行って来るように」と言ったので、アブサロムは立ってヘブロンに向かった。 15:10 アブサロムはイスラエルの全部族に密使を送り、角笛の音を合図に、「アブサロムがヘブロンで王となった」と言うように命じた。 15:11 このときエルサレムから二百人の者がアブサロムと共に出かけたが、招きに応じて同行しただけで、何も知らされてはいなかった。 15:12 いけにえをささげるにあたって、アブサロムは使いを送り、ダビデの顧問であるギロ人アヒトフェルを彼の町ギロから迎えた。陰謀が固められてゆき、アブサロムのもとに集まる民は次第に数を増した。 15:13 イスラエル人の心はアブサロムに移っているという知らせが、ダビデに届いた。 15:14 ダビデは、自分と共にエルサレムにいる家臣全員に言った。「直ちに逃れよう。アブサロムを避けられなくなってはいけない。我々が急がなければ、アブサロムがすぐに我々に追いつき、危害を与え、この都を剣にかけるだろう。」 15:15 王の家臣たちは言った。「主君、王よ、僕たちはすべて御判断のとおりにいたします。」 15:16 こうして王は出発し、王宮の者が皆、その後に従った。王は王宮を守らせるために十人の側女を残した。
15:17 王が出発し、人々は皆、その後に従った。一行は、まず離宮のところで歩みを止めた。 15:18 家臣がまず王の傍らを通り、次いでクレタ人全員とペレティ人全員、それに続いてガトからダビデに従って来た六百人のガト人が王の前を通った。 15:19 王はガト人イタイに言った。「なぜあなたまでが、我々と行動を共にするのか。戻ってあの王のもとにとどまりなさい。あなたは外国人だ。しかもこの国では亡命者の身分だ。 15:20 昨日来たばかりのあなたを、今日我々と共に放浪者にすることはできない。わたしは行けるところへ行くだけだ。兄弟たちと共に戻りなさい。主があなたに慈しみとまことを示されるように。」 15:21 イタイは王に答えて言った。「主は生きておられ、わが主君、王も生きておられる。生きるも死ぬも、主君、王のおいでになるところが僕のいるべきところです。」 15:22 ダビデは、「よろしい、通って行きなさい」と言い、ガト人イタイは大人も子供も、共にいた者全員を率いて通った。 15:23 その地全体が大声をあげて泣く中を、兵士全員が通って行った。王はキドロンの谷を渡り、兵士も全員荒れ野に向かう道を進んだ。
15:24 ツァドクをはじめレビ人全員が神の契約の箱を担いで来ており、兵士全員が都を去るまで神の箱を降ろしていた。アビアタルも来ていた。 15:25 王はツァドクに言った。「神の箱は都に戻しなさい。わたしが主の御心に適うのであれば、主はわたしを連れ戻し、神の箱とその住む所とを見せてくださるだろう。 15:26 主がわたしを愛さないと言われるときは、どうかその良いと思われることをわたしに対してなさるように。」 15:27 王は祭司ツァドクに向かって言葉を続けた。「分かったか。平和にエルサレムに戻ってもらいたい。息子のアヒマアツとアビアタルの子ヨナタン、この二人の若者を連れて帰りなさい。 15:28 分かったか。わたしはあなたたちからの知らせを受けるまで、荒れ野の渡し場で待っている。」 15:29 ツァドクとアビアタルは神の箱と共にエルサレムに戻り、そこにとどまった。
15:30 ダビデは頭を覆い、はだしでオリーブ山の坂道を泣きながら上って行った。同行した兵士たちも皆、それぞれ頭を覆い、泣きながら上って行った。 15:31 アヒトフェルがアブサロムの陰謀に加わったという知らせを受けて、ダビデは、「主よ、アヒトフェルの助言を愚かなものにしてください」と祈った。 15:32 神を礼拝する頂上の場所に着くと、アルキ人フシャイがダビデを迎えた。上着は裂け、頭に土をかぶっていた。 15:33 ダビデは彼に言った。「わたしと一緒に来てくれてもわたしの重荷になるだけだ。 15:34 都に戻って、アブサロムにこう言ってくれ。『王よ、わたしはあなたの僕です。以前、あなたの父上の僕でしたが、今からはあなたの僕です』と。お前はわたしのためにアヒトフェルの助言を覆すことができる。 15:35 都には祭司ツァドクとアビアタルもいて、お前と共に行動する。王宮で耳にすることはすべて祭司のツァドクとアビアタルに伝えてほしい。 15:36 また、そこには彼らの二人の息子も共にいる。ツァドクの息子アヒマアツ、アビアタルの息子ヨナタンだ。耳にすることは何でもこの二人を通してわたしのもとに伝えるようにしてくれ。」 15:37 こうしてダビデの友フシャイは都に入った。アブサロムもエルサレムに入城した。
15:1 After this it happened that Absalom provided himself with chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him. 15:2 Now Absalom would rise early and stand beside the way to the gate. So it was, whenever anyone who had a lawsuit came to the king for a decision, that Absalom would call to him and say, "What city are you from?" And he would say, "Your servant is from such and such a tribe of Israel." 15:3 Then Absalom would say to him, "Look, your case is good and right; but there is no deputy of the king to hear you." 15:4 Moreover Absalom would say, "Oh, that I were made judge in the land, and everyone who has any suit or cause would come to me; then I would give him justice." 15:5 And so it was, whenever anyone came near to bow down to him, that he would put out his hand and take him and kiss him. 15:6 In this manner Absalom acted toward all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. 15:7 Now it came to pass after forty years that Absalom said to the king, "Please, let me go to Hebron and pay the vow which I made to the Lord. 15:8 "For your servant took a vow while I dwelt at Geshur in Syria, saying, 'If the Lord indeed brings me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the Lord.' " 15:9 And the king said to him, "Go in peace." So he arose and went to Hebron. 15:10 Then Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, "As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say, 'Absalom reigns in Hebron!' " 15:11 And with Absalom went two hundred men invited from Jerusalem, and they went along innocently and did not know anything. 15:12 Then Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counselor, from his city-from Giloh-while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy grew strong, for the people with Absalom continually increased in number. 15:13 Now a messenger came to David, saying, "The hearts of the men of Israel are with Absalom." 15:14 So David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, "Arise, and let us flee; or we shall not escape from Absalom. Make haste to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly and bring disaster upon us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword." 15:15 And the king's servants said to the king, "We are your servants, ready to do whatever my lord the king commands." 15:16 Then the king went out with all his household after him. But the king left ten women, concubines, to keep the house. 15:17 And the king went out with all the people after him, and stopped at the outskirts. 15:18 Then all his servants passed before him; and all the Cherethites, all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men who had followed him from Gath, passed before the king. 15:19 Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite, "Why are you also going with us? Return and remain with the king. For you are a foreigner and also an exile from your own place. 15:20 "In fact, you came only yesterday. Should I make you wander up and down with us today, since I go I know not where? Return, and take your brethren back. Mercy and truth be with you." 15:21 And Ittai answered the king and said, "As the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in whatever place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also your servant will be." 15:22 So David said to Ittai, "Go, and cross over." Then Ittai the Gittite and all his men and all the little ones who were with him crossed over. 15:23 And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people crossed over. The king himself also crossed over the Brook Kidron, and all the people crossed over toward the way of the wilderness. 15:24 There was Zadok also, and all the Levites with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God. And they set down the ark of God, and Abiathar went up until all the people had finished crossing over from the city. 15:25 Then the king said to Zadok, "Carry the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the Lord, He will bring me back and show me both it and His dwelling place. 15:26 "But if He says thus: 'I have no delight in you,' here I am, let Him do to me as seems good to Him." 15:27 The king also said to Zadok the priest, "Are you not a seer? Return to the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz your son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar. 15:28 "See, I will wait in the plains of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me." 15:29 Therefore Zadok and Abiathar carried the ark of God back to Jerusalem. And they remained there. 15:30 So David went up by the Ascent of the Mount of Olives, and wept as he went up; and he had his head covered and went barefoot. And all the people who were with him covered their heads and went up, weeping as they went up. 15:31 Then someone told David, saying, "Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom." And David said, "O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!" 15:32 Now it happened when David had come to the top of the mountain, where he worshiped God-there was Hushai the Archite coming to meet him with his robe torn and dust on his head. 15:33 David said to him, "If you go on with me, then you will become a burden to me. 15:34 "But if you return to the city, and say to Absalom, 'I will be your servant, O king; as I was your father's servant previously, so I will now also be your servant,' then you may defeat the counsel of Ahithophel for me. 15:35 "And do you not have Zadok and Abiathar the priests with you there? Therefore it will be that whatever you hear from the king's house, you shall tell to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. 15:36 "Indeed they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz, Zadok's son, and Jonathan, Abiathar's son; and by them you shall send me everything you hear." 15:37 So Hushai, David's friend, went into the city. ◆言が肉となった 1:1 初めに言があった。言は神と共にあった。言は神であった。 1:2 この言は、初めに神と共にあった。 1:3 万物は言によって成った。成ったもので、言によらずに成ったものは何一つなかった。 1:4 言の内に命があった。命は人間を照らす光であった。 1:5 光は暗闇の中で輝いている。暗闇は光を理解しなかった。 1:6 神から遣わされた一人の人がいた。その名はヨハネである。 1:7 彼は証しをするために来た。光について証しをするため、また、すべての人が彼によって信じるようになるためである。 1:8 彼は光ではなく、光について証しをするために来た。 1:9 その光は、まことの光で、世に来てすべての人を照らすのである。 1:10 言は世にあった。世は言によって成ったが、世は言を認めなかった。 1:11 言は、自分の民のところへ来たが、民は受け入れなかった。 1:12 しかし、言は、自分を受け入れた人、その名を信じる人々には神の子となる資格を与えた。 1:13 この人々は、血によってではなく、肉の欲によってではなく、人の欲によってでもなく、神によって生まれたのである。 1:14 言は肉となって、わたしたちの間に宿られた。わたしたちはその栄光を見た。それは父の独り子としての栄光であって、恵みと真理とに満ちていた。 1:15 ヨハネは、この方について証しをし、声を張り上げて言った。「『わたしの後から来られる方は、わたしより優れている。わたしよりも先におられたからである』とわたしが言ったのは、この方のことである。」 1:16 わたしたちは皆、この方の満ちあふれる豊かさの中から、恵みの上に、更に恵みを受けた。 1:17 律法はモーセを通して与えられたが、恵みと真理はイエス・キリストを通して現れたからである。 1:18 いまだかつて、神を見た者はいない。父のふところにいる独り子である神、この方が神を示されたのである。
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:2 He was in the beginning with God. 1:3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 1:5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 1:7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 1:9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 1:11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 1:13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 1:15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.' " 1:16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
