8:1 その後、ダビデはペリシテ人を討って屈服させ、ペリシテ人の手からメテグ・アンマを奪った。 8:2 また、モアブを討ち、彼らを地面に伏させて測り縄ではかり、縄二本分の者たちを殺し、一本分の者は生かしておいた。モアブ人はダビデに隷属し、貢を納めるものとなった。 8:3 ダビデは次に、ツォバの王、レホブの子ハダドエゼルがユーフラテスに勢力を回復しようと行動を起こしたとき、彼を討ち、 8:4 騎兵千七百、歩兵二万を捕虜とし、戦車の馬は、百頭を残して、そのほかはすべて腱を切ってしまった。 8:5 ダマスコのアラム人がツォバの王ハダドエゼルの援軍として参戦したが、ダビデはこのアラム軍二万二千をも討ち、 8:6 ダマスコのアラム人に対して守備隊を置いた。こうしてアラム人もダビデに隷属し、貢を納めるものとなった。主はダビデに、その行く先々で勝利を与えられた。 8:7 ダビデは、ハダドエゼルの家臣がそれぞれ携えていた金の盾を没収してエルサレムに運んだ。 8:8 また、ダビデ王はハダドエゼルの町ベタとベロタイから大量の青銅を奪い取った。 8:9 ハマトの王トイは、ダビデがハダドエゼルの軍勢を討ち滅ぼしたと聞き、 8:10 王子ヨラムをダビデ王のもとに遣わして安否を問わせた。トイ自身、ハダドエゼルと交戦中だったので、ハダドエゼルに対するダビデの戦勝を祝って、銀、金、青銅の品々を贈った。 8:11 ダビデ王はこれらの品々を、征服したすべての異邦の民から得た銀や金と共に主のために聖別した。 8:12 それは、アラム、モアブ、アンモン人、ペリシテ人、アマレクから得たもの、ツォバの王、レホブの子ハダドエゼルからの戦利品などであった。 8:13 ダビデはアラムを討って帰る途中、塩の谷でエドム人一万八千を討ち殺し、名声を得た。 8:14 彼はエドムに守備隊を置くことにした。守備隊はエドム全土に置かれ、全エドムはダビデに隷属した。主はダビデに、行く先々で勝利を与えられた。
8:15 ダビデは王として全イスラエルを支配し、その民すべてのために裁きと恵みの業を行った。 8:16 ツェルヤの子ヨアブは軍の司令官。アヒルドの子ヨシャファトは補佐官。 8:17 アヒトブの子ツァドクとアビアタルの子アヒメレクは共に祭司。セラヤは書記官。 8:18 ヨヤダの子ベナヤはクレタ人とペレティ人の監督官。ダビデの息子たちは祭司となった。
9:1 ダビデは言った。「サウル家の者がまだ生き残っているならば、ヨナタンのために、その者に忠実を尽くしたい。」 9:2 サウル家に仕えていたツィバという名の者がダビデのもとに呼び出された。「お前がツィバか」と王が尋ねると、「僕でございます」と彼は答えた。 9:3 王は言った。「サウル家には、もうだれも残っていないのか。いるなら、その者に神に誓った忠実を尽くしたいが。」「ヨナタンさまの御子息が一人おられます。両足の萎えた方でございます」とツィバは王に答えた。 9:4 王は「どこにいるのか」と問い、ツィバは王に、「ロ・デバルにあるアミエルの子マキルの家におられます」と答えた。 9:5 ダビデ王は人を遣わし、ロ・デバルにあるアミエルの子マキルの家から彼を連れて来させた。 9:6 サウルの子ヨナタンの子メフィボシェトは、ダビデの前に来るとひれ伏して礼をした。「メフィボシェトよ」とダビデが言うと、「僕です」と彼は答えた。 9:7 「恐れることはない。あなたの父ヨナタンのために、わたしはあなたに忠実を尽くそう。祖父サウルの地所はすべて返す。あなたはいつもわたしの食卓で食事をするように」とダビデが言うと、 9:8 メフィボシェトは礼をして言った。「僕など何者でありましょうか。死んだ犬も同然のわたしを顧みてくださるとは。」 9:9 王は、サウルの従者であったツィバを呼んで言った。「サウルとその家の所有であったものはすべてお前の主人の子息に与えることにした。 9:10 お前は、息子たち、召し使いたちと共に、その土地を耕して収穫をあげ、お前の主人の子息のために生計を立てよ。お前の主人の子息メフィボシェトは、いつもわたしの食卓で食事をすることになる。」ツィバには十五人の息子と二十人の召し使いがいた。 9:11 ツィバは王に答えた。「私の主君、王が僕にお命じになりましたことはすべて、僕が間違いなく実行いたします。」メフィボシェトは王子の一人のように、ダビデの食卓で食事をした。 9:12 メフィボシェトにはミカという幼い息子がいた。ツィバの家に住む者は皆、メフィボシェトの召し使いとなった。 9:13 メフィボシェトは王の食卓に連なるのが常のことであり、両足とも不自由なので、エルサレムに住んだ。
8:1 After this it came to pass that David attacked the Philistines and subdued them. And David took Metheg Ammah from the hand of the Philistines. 8:2 Then he defeated Moab. Forcing them down to the ground, he measured them off with a line. With two lines he measured off those to be put to death, and with one full line those to be kept alive. So the Moabites became David's servants, and brought tribute. 8:3 David also defeated Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his territory at the River Euphrates. 8:4 David took from him one thousand chariots, seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers. Also David hamstrung all the chariot horses, except that he spared enough of them for one hundred chariots. 8:5 When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand of the Syrians. 8:6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought tribute. The Lord preserved David wherever he went. 8:7 And David took the shields of gold that had belonged to the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem. 8:8 Also from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a large amount of bronze. 8:9 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer, 8:10 then Toi sent Joram his son to King David, to greet him and bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him (for Hadadezer had been at war with Toi); and Joram brought with him articles of silver, articles of gold, and articles of bronze. 8:11 King David also dedicated these to the Lord, along with the silver and gold that he had dedicated from all the nations which he had subdued- 8:12 from Syria, from Moab, from the people of Ammon, from the Philistines, from Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah. 8:13 And David made himself a name when he returned from killing eighteen thousand Syrians in the Valley of Salt. 8:14 He also put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David's servants. And the Lord preserved David wherever he went. 8:15 So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered judgment and justice to all his people. 8:16 Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; 8:17 Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were the priests; Seraiah was the scribe; 8:18 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief ministers.
9:1 Now David said, "Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?" 9:2 And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they had called him to David, the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he said, "At your service!" 9:3 Then the king said, "Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet." 9:4 So the king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "Indeed he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar." 9:5 Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar. 9:6 Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. Then David said, "Mephibosheth?" And he answered, "Here is your servant!" 9:7 So David said to him, "Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually." 9:8 Then he bowed himself, and said, "What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?" 9:9 And the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, "I have given to your master's son all that belonged to Saul and to all his house. 9:10 "You therefore, and your sons and your servants, shall work the land for him, and you shall bring in the harvest, that your master's son may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth your master's son shall eat bread at my table always." Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. 9:11 Then Ziba said to the king, "According to all that my lord the king has commanded his servant, so will your servant do." "As for Mephibosheth," said the king, "he shall eat at my table like one of the king's sons." 9:12 Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Micha. And all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants of Mephibosheth. 9:13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king's table. And he was lame in both his feet.
101:1 【ダビデの詩。賛歌。】慈しみと裁きをわたしは歌い／主よ、あなたに向かって、ほめ歌います。 101:2 完全な道について解き明かします。いつ、あなたは／わたしを訪れてくださるのでしょうか。わたしは家にあって／無垢な心をもって行き来します。 101:3 卑しいことを目の前に置かず／背く者の行いを憎み／まつわりつくことを許さず 101:4 曲がった心を退け／悪を知ることはありません。 101:5 隠れて友をそしる者を滅ぼし／傲慢な目、驕る心を持つ者を許しません。 101:6 わたしはこの地の信頼のおける人々に目を留め／わたしと共に座に着かせ／完全な道を歩く人を、わたしに仕えさせます。 101:7 わたしの家においては／人を欺く者を座に着かせず／偽って語る者をわたしの目の前に立たせません。 101:8 朝ごとに、わたしはこの地の逆らう者を滅ぼし／悪を行う者をことごとく、主の都から断ちます。
101:1 I will sing of mercy and justice;To You, O Lord, I will sing praises. 101:2 I will behave wisely in a perfect way.Oh, when will You come to me?I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. 101:3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;I hate the work of those who fall away;It shall not cling to me. 101:4 A perverse heart shall depart from me;I will not know wickedness. 101:5 Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor,Him I will destroy;The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart,Him I will not endure. 101:6 My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land,That they may dwell with me;He who walks in a perfect way,He shall serve me. 101:7 He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house;He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence. 101:8 Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land,That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord.
