2:1 ナオミの夫エリメレクの一族には一人の有力な親戚がいて、その名をボアズといった。 2:2 モアブの女ルツがナオミに、「畑に行ってみます。だれか厚意を示してくださる方の後ろで、落ち穂を拾わせてもらいます」と言うと、ナオミは、「わたしの娘よ、行っておいで」と言った。 2:3 ルツは出かけて行き、刈り入れをする農夫たちの後について畑で落ち穂を拾ったが、そこはたまたまエリメレクの一族のボアズが所有する畑地であった。 2:4 ボアズがベツレヘムからやって来て、農夫たちに、「主があなたたちと共におられますように」と言うと、彼らも、「主があなたを祝福してくださいますように」と言った。 2:5 ボアズが農夫を監督している召し使いの一人に、そこの若い女は誰の娘かと聞いた。 2:6 召し使いは答えた。「あの人は、モアブの野からナオミと一緒に戻ったモアブの娘です。 2:7 『刈り入れをする人たちの後について麦束の間で落ち穂を拾い集めさせてください』と願い出て、朝から今までずっと立ち通しで働いておりましたが、今、小屋で一息入れているところです。」 2:8 ボアズはルツに言った。「わたしの娘よ、よく聞きなさい。よその畑に落ち穂を拾いに行くことはない。ここから離れることなく、わたしのところの女たちと一緒にここにいなさい。 2:9 刈り入れをする畑を確かめておいて、女たちについて行きなさい。若い者には邪魔をしないように命じておこう。喉が渇いたら、水がめの所へ行って、若い者がくんでおいた水を飲みなさい。」 2:10 ルツは、顔を地につけ、ひれ伏して言った。「よそ者のわたしにこれほど目をかけてくださるとは。厚意を示してくださるのは、なぜですか。」 2:11 ボアズは答えた。「主人が亡くなった後も、しゅうとめに尽くしたこと、両親と生まれ故郷を捨てて、全く見も知らぬ国に来たことなど、何もかも伝え聞いていました。 2:12 どうか、主があなたの行いに豊かに報いてくださるように。イスラエルの神、主がその御翼のもとに逃れて来たあなたに十分に報いてくださるように。」 2:13 ルツは言った。「わたしの主よ。どうぞこれからも厚意を示してくださいますように。あなたのはしための一人にも及ばぬこのわたしですのに、心に触れる言葉をかけていただいて、本当に慰められました。」 2:14 食事のとき、ボアズはルツに声をかけた。「こちらに来て、パンを少し食べなさい、一切れずつ酢に浸して。」ルツが刈り入れをする農夫たちのそばに腰を下ろすと、ボアズは炒り麦をつかんで与えた。ルツは食べ、飽き足りて残すほどであった。 2:15 ルツが腰を上げ、再び落ち穂を拾い始めようとすると、ボアズは若者に命じた。「麦束の間でもあの娘には拾わせるがよい。止めてはならぬ。 2:16 それだけでなく、刈り取った束から穂を抜いて落としておくのだ。あの娘がそれを拾うのをとがめてはならぬ。」 2:17 ルツはこうして日が暮れるまで畑で落ち穂を拾い集めた。集めた穂を打って取れた大麦は一エファほどにもなった。 2:18 それを背負って町に帰ると、しゅうとめは嫁が拾い集めてきたものに目をみはった。ルツは飽き足りて残した食べ物も差し出した。 2:19 しゅうとめがルツに、「今日は一体どこで落ち穂を拾い集めたのですか。どこで働いてきたのですか。あなたに目をかけてくださった方に祝福がありますように」と言うと、ルツは、誰のところで働いたかをしゅうとめに報告して言った。「今日働かせてくださった方は名をボアズと言っておられました。」 2:20 ナオミは嫁に言った。「どうか、生きている人にも死んだ人にも慈しみを惜しまれない主が、その人を祝福してくださるように。」ナオミは更に続けた。「その人はわたしたちと縁続きの人です。わたしたちの家を絶やさないようにする責任のある人の一人です。」 2:21 モアブの女ルツは言った。「その方はわたしに、『うちの刈り入れが全部済むまで、うちの若者から決して離れないでいなさい』と言ってくださいました。」 2:22 ナオミは嫁ルツに答えた。「わたしの娘よ、すばらしいことです。あそこで働く女たちと一緒に畑に行けるとは。よその畑で、だれかからひどい目に遭わされることもないし。」 2:23 ルツはこうして、大麦と小麦の刈り入れが終わるまで、ボアズのところで働く女たちから離れることなく落ち穂を拾った。
2:23 ルツはしゅうとめと一緒に暮らしていたが、
2:1 There was a relative of Naomi's husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of Elimelech. His name was Boaz. 2:2 So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, "Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor." And she said to her, "Go, my daughter." 2:3 Then she left, and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech. 2:4 Now behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, "The Lord be with you!" And they answered him, "The Lord bless you!" 2:5 Then Boaz said to his servant who was in charge of the reapers, "Whose young woman is this?" 2:6 So the servant who was in charge of the reapers answered and said, "It is the young Moabite woman who came back with Naomi from the country of Moab. 2:7 "And she said, 'Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.' So she came and has continued from morning until now, though she rested a little in the house." 2:8 Then Boaz said to Ruth, "You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go to glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close by my young women. 2:9 "Let your eyes be on the field which they reap, and go after them. Have I not commanded the young men not to touch you? And when you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink from what the young men have drawn." 2:10 So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, "Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?" 2:11 And Boaz answered and said to her, "It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before. 2:12 "The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge." 2:13 Then she said, "Let me find favor in your sight, my lord; for you have comforted me, and have spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not like one of your maidservants." 2:14 Now Boaz said to her at mealtime, "Come here, and eat of the bread, and dip your piece of bread in the vinegar." So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed parched grain to her; and she ate and was satisfied, and kept some back. 2:15 And when she rose up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, "Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her. 2:16 "Also let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean, and do not rebuke her." 2:17 So she gleaned in the field until evening, and beat out what she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah of barley. 2:18 Then she took it up and went into the city, and her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned. So she brought out and gave to her what she had kept back after she had been satisfied. 2:19 And her mother-in-law said to her, "Where have you gleaned today? And where did you work? Blessed be the one who took notice of you." So she told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked, and said, "The man's name with whom I worked today is Boaz." 2:20 Then Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, "Blessed be he of the Lord, who has not forsaken His kindness to the living and the dead!" And Naomi said to her, "This man is a relation of ours, one of our close relatives." 2:21 Ruth the Moabitess said, "He also said to me, 'You shall stay close by my young men until they have finished all my harvest.' " 2:22 And Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, "It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, and that people do not meet you in any other field." 2:23 So she stayed close by the young women of Boaz, to glean until the end of barley harvest and wheat harvest; and she dwelt with her mother-in-law.
15:1 徴税人や罪人が皆、話を聞こうとしてイエスに近寄って来た。 15:2 すると、ファリサイ派の人々や律法学者たちは、「この人は罪人たちを迎えて、食事まで一緒にしている」と不平を言いだした。 15:3 そこで、イエスは次のたとえを話された。 15:4 「あなたがたの中に、百匹の羊を持っている人がいて、その一匹を見失ったとすれば、九十九匹を野原に残して、見失った一匹を見つけ出すまで捜し回らないだろうか。 15:5 そして、見つけたら、喜んでその羊を担いで、 15:6 家に帰り、友達や近所の人々を呼び集めて、『見失った羊を見つけたので、一緒に喜んでください』と言うであろう。 15:7 言っておくが、このように、悔い改める一人の罪人については、悔い改める必要のない九十九人の正しい人についてよりも大きな喜びが天にある。」
15:8 「あるいは、ドラクメ銀貨を十枚持っている女がいて、その一枚を無くしたとすれば、ともし火をつけ、家を掃き、見つけるまで念を入れて捜さないだろうか。 15:9 そして、見つけたら、友達や近所の女たちを呼び集めて、『無くした銀貨を見つけましたから、一緒に喜んでください』と言うであろう。 15:10 言っておくが、このように、一人の罪人が悔い改めれば、神の天使たちの間に喜びがある。」
15:1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 15:2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, "This Man receives sinners and eats with them." 15:3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying: 15:4 "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 15:5 "And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 15:6 "And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' 15:7 "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. 15:8 "Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? 15:9 "And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!' 15:10 "Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
