19:1 イスラエルに王がいなかったそのころ、エフライムの山地の奥に一人のレビ人が滞在していた。彼はユダのベツレヘムから一人の女を側女として迎え入れた。 19:2 しかし、その側女は主人を裏切り、そのもとを去ってユダのベツレヘムの父の家に帰り、四か月ほどそこにいた。 19:3 夫は若者を伴い、一軛のろばを連れて出で立ち、彼女の後を追い、その心に話しかけて連れ戻そうとした。彼女が彼を父の家に入れると、娘の父は彼を見て、喜び迎えた。 19:4 そのしゅうと、娘の父が引き止めるので、彼は三日間そこにとどまり、食べて飲み、夜を過ごした。 19:5 四日目の朝早く彼は起きて出発しようとしたが、娘の父が婿に、「パンを一切れ食べて元気をつけ、それから出かけた方がいい」と言うので、 19:6 二人は一緒に座り、食べて飲んだ。娘の父は男に、「どうか、もう一晩泊まってくつろいでください」と言った。 19:7 男は立ち上がって出発しようとしたが、しゅうとがしきりに勧めるので、また泊まることにした。 19:8 五日目も朝早く彼は出発しようとしたが、娘の父が、「元気をつけた方がいい」と言うので、二人は日の傾くころまでゆっくり食事をした。 19:9 彼が側女と若者を連れて出発しようとすると、そのしゅうと、娘の父は、「日もかげってきて、もう夕方です。もう一晩お泊まりください。日は暮れかけています。ここに泊まってくつろぎ、明朝早く起きて旅路につき、家に帰ることにしてはどうですか」と言った。 19:10 しかし、男は泊まろうとせず、立ち上がって出発し、エブスすなわちエルサレムを目の前にするところまで来た。彼は鞍をつけた一軛のろばと側女を連れていた。 19:11 彼らがエブスの近くに来たとき、日は大きく傾いていた。若者は主人に、「あのエブス人の町に向かい、そこに泊まることにしてはいかがですか」と言ったが、 19:12 主人は、「イスラエルの人々ではないこの異国人の町には入るまい。ギブアまで進むことにしよう」と答えた。 19:13 更に彼は若者に、「さあ、このいずれかの場所に近づいて行き、ギブアかラマに泊まることにしよう」と言った。 19:14 彼らは旅を続け、ベニヤミン領のギブアの近くで日は没した。 19:15 彼らはギブアに入って泊まろうとして進み、町の広場に来て腰を下ろした。彼らを家に迎えて泊めてくれる者はいなかった。 19:16 夕暮れに、一人の老人が畑仕事を終えて帰って来た。この人はエフライム山地の出身であったが、ギブアに滞在していた。土地の人々はベニヤミン族であった。 19:17 老人は目を上げて、町の広場にいる旅人を見、「どちらにおいでになりますか。どちらからおいでになりましたか」と声をかけた。 19:18 彼は老人に答えた。「わたしたちは、ユダのベツレヘムからエフライム山地の奥にあるわたしの郷里まで、旅をしているところです。ユダのベツレヘムに行って、今、主の神殿に帰る途中ですが、わたしたちを家に迎えてくれる人がいません。 19:19 ろばのためのわらも飼い葉もありますし、わたしとこの女、あなたの僕の連れている若者のためのパンもぶどう酒もあります。必要なものはすべてそろっています。」 19:20 老人は、「安心しなさい。あなたが必要とするものはわたしにまかせなさい。広場で夜を過ごしてはいけません」と言って、 19:21 彼らを自分の家に入れ、ろばに餌を与えた。彼らは足を洗い、食べて飲んだ。 19:22 彼らがくつろいでいると、町のならず者が家を囲み、戸をたたいて、家の主人である老人にこう言った。「お前の家に来た男を出せ。我々はその男を知りたい。」 19:23 家の主人は彼らのところに出て行って言った。「兄弟たちよ、それはいけない。悪いことをしないでください。この人がわたしの家に入った後で、そのような非道なふるまいは許されない。 19:24 ここに処女であるわたしの娘と、あの人の側女がいる。この二人を連れ出すから、辱め、思いどおりにするがよい。だがあの人には非道なふるまいをしてはならない。」 19:25 しかし、人々は彼に耳を貸そうとしなかった。男が側女をつかんで、外にいる人々のところへ押し出すと、彼らは彼女を知り、一晩中朝になるまでもてあそび、朝の光が射すころようやく彼女を放した。 19:26 朝になるころ、女は主人のいる家の入り口までたどりつき、明るくなるまでそこに倒れていた。 19:27 彼女の主人が朝起きて、旅を続けようと戸を開け、外に出て見ると、自分の側女が家の入り口で手を敷居にかけて倒れていたので、 19:28 「起きなさい。出かけよう」と言った。しかし、答えはなかった。彼は彼女をろばに乗せ、自分の郷里に向かって旅立った。 19:29 家に着くと、彼は刃物をとって側女をつかみ、その体を十二の部分に切り離し、イスラエルの全土に送りつけた。 19:30 これを見た者は皆言った。「イスラエルの人々がエジプトの地から上って来た日から今日に至るまで、このようなことは決して起こらず、目にしたこともなかった。このことを心に留め、よく考えて語れ。」
19:1 And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite staying in the remote mountains of Ephraim. He took for himself a concubine from Bethlehem in Judah. 19:2 But his concubine played the harlot against him, and went away from him to her father's house at Bethlehem in Judah, and was there four whole months. 19:3 Then her husband arose and went after her, to speak kindly to her and bring her back, having his servant and a couple of donkeys with him. So she brought him into her father's house; and when the father of the young woman saw him, he was glad to meet him. 19:4 Now his father-in-law, the young woman's father, detained him; and he stayed with him three days. So they ate and drank and lodged there. 19:5 Then it came to pass on the fourth day that they arose early in the morning, and he stood to depart; but the young woman's father said to his son-in-law, "Refresh your heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way." 19:6 So they sat down, and the two of them ate and drank together. Then the young woman's father said to the man, "Please be content to stay all night, and let your heart be merry." 19:7 And when the man stood to depart, his father-in-law urged him; so he lodged there again. 19:8 Then he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart, but the young woman's father said, "Please refresh your heart." So they delayed until afternoon; and both of them ate. 19:9 And when the man stood to depart-he and his concubine and his servant-his father-in-law, the young woman's father, said to him, "Look, the day is now drawing toward evening; please spend the night. See, the day is coming to an end; lodge here, that your heart may be merry. Tomorrow go your way early, so that you may get home." 19:10 However, the man was not willing to spend that night; so he rose and departed, and came to opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). With him were the two saddled donkeys; his concubine was also with him. 19:11 They were near Jebus, and the day was far spent; and the servant said to his master, "Come, please, and let us turn aside into this city of the Jebusites and lodge in it." 19:12 But his master said to him, "We will not turn aside here into a city of foreigners, who are not of the children of Israel; we will go on to Gibeah." 19:13 So he said to his servant, "Come, let us draw near to one of these places, and spend the night in Gibeah or in Ramah." 19:14 And they passed by and went their way; and the sun went down on them near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin. 19:15 They turned aside there to go in to lodge in Gibeah. And when he went in, he sat down in the open square of the city, for no one would take them into his house to spend the night. 19:16 Just then an old man came in from his work in the field at evening, who also was from the mountains of Ephraim; he was staying in Gibeah, whereas the men of the place were Benjamites. 19:17 And when he raised his eyes, he saw the traveler in the open square of the city; and the old man said, "Where are you going, and where do you come from?" 19:18 So he said to him, "We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah toward the remote mountains of Ephraim; I am from there. I went to Bethlehem in Judah; now I am going to the house of the Lord. But there is no one who will take me into his house, 19:19 "although we have both straw and fodder for our donkeys, and bread and wine for myself, for your female servant, and for the young man who is with your servant; there is no lack of anything." 19:20 And the old man said, "Peace be with you! However, let all your needs be my responsibility; only do not spend the night in the open square." 19:21 So he brought him into his house, and gave fodder to the donkeys. And they washed their feet, and ate and drank. 19:22 As they were enjoying themselves, suddenly certain men of the city, perverted men, surrounded the house and beat on the door. They spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came to your house, that we may know him carnally!" 19:23 But the man, the master of the house, went out to them and said to them, "No, my brethren! I beg you, do not act so wickedly! Seeing this man has come into my house, do not commit this outrage. 19:24 "Look, here is my virgin daughter and the man's concubine; let me bring them out now. Humble them, and do with them as you please; but to this man do not do such a vile thing!" 19:25 But the men would not heed him. So the man took his concubine and brought her out to them. And they knew her and abused her all night until morning; and when the day began to break, they let her go. 19:26 Then the woman came as the day was dawning, and fell down at the door of the man's house where her master was, till it was light. 19:27 When her master arose in the morning, and opened the doors of the house and went out to go his way, there was his concubine, fallen at the door of the house with her hands on the threshold. 19:28 And he said to her, "Get up and let us be going." But there was no answer. So the man lifted her onto the donkey; and the man got up and went to his place. 19:29 When he entered his house he took a knife, laid hold of his concubine, and divided her into twelve pieces, limb by limb, and sent her throughout all the territory of Israel. 19:30 And so it was that all who saw it said, "No such deed has been done or seen from the day that the children of Israel came up from the land of Egypt until this day. Consider it, confer, and speak up!"

13:6 そして、イエスは次のたとえを話された。「ある人がぶどう園にいちじくの木を植えておき、実を探しに来たが見つからなかった。 13:7 そこで、園丁に言った。『もう三年もの間、このいちじくの木に実を探しに来ているのに、見つけたためしがない。だから切り倒せ。なぜ、土地をふさがせておくのか。』 13:8 園丁は答えた。『御主人様、今年もこのままにしておいてください。木の周りを掘って、肥やしをやってみます。 13:9 そうすれば、来年は実がなるかもしれません。もしそれでもだめなら、切り倒してください。』」
13:10 安息日に、イエスはある会堂で教えておられた。 13:11 そこに、十八年間も病の霊に取りつかれている女がいた。腰が曲がったまま、どうしても伸ばすことができなかった。 13:12 イエスはその女を見て呼び寄せ、「婦人よ、病気は治った」と言って、 13:13 その上に手を置かれた。女は、たちどころに腰がまっすぐになり、神を賛美した。 13:14 ところが会堂長は、イエスが安息日に病人をいやされたことに腹を立て、群衆に言った。「働くべき日は六日ある。その間に来て治してもらうがよい。安息日はいけない。」 13:15 しかし、主は彼に答えて言われた。「偽善者たちよ、あなたたちはだれでも、安息日にも牛やろばを飼い葉桶から解いて、水を飲ませに引いて行くではないか。 13:16 この女はアブラハムの娘なのに、十八年もの間サタンに縛られていたのだ。安息日であっても、その束縛から解いてやるべきではなかったのか。」 13:17 こう言われると、反対者は皆恥じ入ったが、群衆はこぞって、イエスがなさった数々のすばらしい行いを見て喜んだ。
13:1 There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 13:2 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 13:3 "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 13:4 "Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 13:5 "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." 13:6 He also spoke this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 13:7 "Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?' 13:8 "But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 13:9 'And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.' " 13:10 Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 13:11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. 13:12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." 13:13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. 13:14 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, "There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day." 13:15 The Lord then answered him and said, "Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? 13:16 "So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound-think of it-for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?" 13:17 And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.
