16:14 主の霊はサウルから離れ、主から来る悪霊が彼をさいなむようになった。 16:15 サウルの家臣はサウルに勧めた。「あなたをさいなむのは神からの悪霊でしょう。 16:16 王様、御前に仕えるこの僕どもにお命じになり、竪琴を上手に奏でる者を探させてください。神からの悪霊が王様を襲うとき、おそばで彼の奏でる竪琴が王様の御気分を良くするでしょう。」 16:17 サウルは家臣に命じた。「わたしのために竪琴の名手を見つけ出して、連れて来なさい。」 16:18 従者の一人が答えた。「わたしが会ったベツレヘムの人エッサイの息子は竪琴を巧みに奏でるうえに、勇敢な戦士で、戦術の心得もあり、しかも、言葉に分別があって外見も良く、まさに主が共におられる人です。」 16:19 サウルは、エッサイに使者を立てて言った。「あなたの息子で、羊の番をするダビデを、わたしのもとによこしなさい。」 16:20 エッサイは、パンを積んだろばとぶどう酒の入った革袋と子山羊一匹を用意し、息子ダビデに持たせてサウルに送った。 16:21 ダビデはサウルのもとに来て、彼に仕えた。王はダビデが大層気に入り、王の武器を持つ者に取り立てた。 16:22 サウルはエッサイに言い送った。「ダビデをわたしに仕えさせるように。彼は、わたしの心に適った。」 16:23 神の霊がサウルを襲うたびに、ダビデが傍らで竪琴を奏でると、サウルは心が安まって気分が良くなり、悪霊は彼を離れた。
16:1 Now the Lord said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons." 16:2 And Samuel said, "How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me." And the Lord said, "Take a heifer with you, and say, 'I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.' 16:3 "Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; you shall anoint for Me the one I name to you." 16:4 So Samuel did what the Lord said, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, "Do you come peaceably?" 16:5 And he said, "Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice." Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons, and invited them to the sacrifice. 16:6 So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, "Surely the Lord's anointed is before Him." 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 16:8 So Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, "Neither has the Lord chosen this one." 16:9 Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, "Neither has the Lord chosen this one." 16:10 Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, "The Lord has not chosen these." 16:11 And Samuel said to Jesse, "Are all the young men here?" Then he said, "There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep." And Samuel said to Jesse, "Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here." 16:12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, "Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!" 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah. 16:14 But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him. 16:15 And Saul's servants said to him, "Surely, a distressing spirit from God is troubling you. 16:16 "Let our master now command your servants, who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp; and it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you, and you shall be well." 16:17 So Saul said to his servants, "Provide me now a man who can play well, and bring him to me." 16:18 Then one of the servants answered and said, "Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him." 16:19 Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, "Send me your son David, who is with the sheep." 16:20 And Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine, and a young goat, and sent them by his son David to Saul. 16:21 So David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly, and he became his armorbearer. 16:22 Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, "Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight." 16:23 And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.
22:1 さて、過越祭と言われている除酵祭が近づいていた。 22:2 祭司長たちや律法学者たちは、イエスを殺すにはどうしたらよいかと考えていた。彼らは民衆を恐れていたのである。 22:3 しかし、十二人の中の一人で、イスカリオテと呼ばれるユダの中に、サタンが入った。 22:4 ユダは祭司長たちや神殿守衛長たちのもとに行き、どのようにしてイエスを引き渡そうかと相談をもちかけた。 22:5 彼らは喜び、ユダに金を与えることに決めた。 22:6 ユダは承諾して、群衆のいないときにイエスを引き渡そうと、良い機会をねらっていた。
22:7 過越の小羊を屠るべき除酵祭の日が来た。 22:8 イエスはペトロとヨハネとを使いに出そうとして、「行って過越の食事ができるように準備しなさい」と言われた。 22:9 二人が、「どこに用意いたしましょうか」と言うと、 22:10 イエスは言われた。「都に入ると、水がめを運んでいる男に出会う。その人が入る家までついて行き、 22:11 家の主人にはこう言いなさい。『先生が、「弟子たちと一緒に過越の食事をする部屋はどこか」とあなたに言っています。』 22:12 すると、席の整った二階の広間を見せてくれるから、そこに準備をしておきなさい。」 22:13 二人が行ってみると、イエスが言われたとおりだったので、過越の食事を準備した。
22:14 時刻になったので、イエスは食事の席に着かれたが、使徒たちも一緒だった。 22:15 イエスは言われた。「苦しみを受ける前に、あなたがたと共にこの過越の食事をしたいと、わたしは切に願っていた。 22:16 言っておくが、神の国で過越が成し遂げられるまで、わたしは決してこの過越の食事をとることはない。」 22:17 そして、イエスは杯を取り上げ、感謝の祈りを唱えてから言われた。「これを取り、互いに回して飲みなさい。 22:18 言っておくが、神の国が来るまで、わたしは今後ぶどうの実から作ったものを飲むことは決してあるまい。」 22:19 それから、イエスはパンを取り、感謝の祈りを唱えて、それを裂き、使徒たちに与えて言われた。「これは、あなたがたのために与えられるわたしの体である。わたしの記念としてこのように行いなさい。」 22:20 食事を終えてから、杯も同じようにして言われた。「この杯は、あなたがたのために流される、わたしの血による新しい契約である。 22:21 しかし、見よ、わたしを裏切る者が、わたしと一緒に手を食卓に置いている。 22:22 人の子は、定められたとおり去って行く。だが、人の子を裏切るその者は不幸だ。」 22:23 そこで使徒たちは、自分たちのうち、いったいだれが、そんなことをしようとしているのかと互いに議論をし始めた。
22:1 Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover. 22:2 And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people. 22:3 Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. 22:4 So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. 22:5 And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. 22:6 So he promised and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude. 22:7 Then came the Day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover must be killed. 22:8 And He sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat." 22:9 So they said to Him, "Where do You want us to prepare?" 22:10 And He said to them, "Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house which he enters. 22:11 "Then you shall say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says to you, "Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?" ' 22:12 "Then he will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready." 22:13 So they went and found it just as He had said to them, and they prepared the Passover. 22:14 When the hour had come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. 22:15 Then He said to them, "With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; 22:16 "for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God." 22:17 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, "Take this and divide it among yourselves; 22:18 "for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes." 22:19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 22:20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you. 22:21 "But behold, the hand of My betrayer is with Me on the table. 22:22 "And truly the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!" 22:23 Then they began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this thing.
