3:1 少年サムエルはエリのもとで主に仕えていた。そのころ、主の言葉が臨むことは少なく、幻が示されることもまれであった。 3:2 ある日、エリは自分の部屋で床に就いていた。彼は目がかすんできて、見えなくなっていた。 3:3 まだ神のともし火は消えておらず、サムエルは神の箱が安置された主の神殿に寝ていた。 3:4 主はサムエルを呼ばれた。サムエルは、「ここにいます」と答えて、 3:5 エリのもとに走って行き、「お呼びになったので参りました」と言った。しかし、エリが、「わたしは呼んでいない。戻っておやすみ」と言ったので、サムエルは戻って寝た。 3:6 主は再びサムエルを呼ばれた。サムエルは起きてエリのもとに行き、「お呼びになったので参りました」と言った。エリは、「わたしは呼んでいない。わが子よ、戻っておやすみ」と言った。 3:7 サムエルはまだ主を知らなかったし、主の言葉はまだ彼に示されていなかった。 3:8 主は三度サムエルを呼ばれた。サムエルは起きてエリのもとに行き、「お呼びになったので参りました」と言った。エリは、少年を呼ばれたのは主であると悟り、 3:9 サムエルに言った。「戻って寝なさい。もしまた呼びかけられたら、『主よ、お話しください。僕は聞いております』と言いなさい。」サムエルは戻って元の場所に寝た。 3:10 主は来てそこに立たれ、これまでと同じように、サムエルを呼ばれた。「サムエルよ。」サムエルは答えた。「どうぞお話しください。僕は聞いております。」 3:11 主はサムエルに言われた。「見よ、わたしは、イスラエルに一つのことを行う。それを聞く者は皆、両耳が鳴るだろう。 3:12 その日わたしは、エリの家に告げたことをすべて、初めから終わりまでエリに対して行う。 3:13 わたしはエリに告げ知らせた。息子たちが神を汚す行為をしていると知っていながら、とがめなかった罪のために、エリの家をとこしえに裁く、と。 3:14 わたしはエリの家について誓った。エリの家の罪は、いけにえによっても献げ物によってもとこしえに贖われることはない。」 3:15 サムエルは朝まで眠って、それから主の家の扉を開いた。サムエルはエリにこのお告げを伝えるのを恐れた。 3:16 エリはサムエルを呼んで言った。「わが子、サムエルよ。」サムエルは答えた。「ここにいます。」 3:17 エリは言った。「お前に何が語られたのか。わたしに隠してはいけない。お前に語られた言葉を一つでも隠すなら、神が幾重にもお前を罰してくださるように。」 3:18 サムエルは一部始終を話し、隠し立てをしなかった。エリは言った。「それを話されたのは主だ。主が御目にかなうとおりに行われるように。」 3:19 サムエルは成長していった。主は彼と共におられ、その言葉は一つたりとも地に落ちることはなかった。 3:20 ダンからベエル・シェバに至るまでのイスラエルのすべての人々は、サムエルが主の預言者として信頼するに足る人であることを認めた。 3:21 主は引き続きシロで御自身を現された。主は御言葉をもって、シロでサムエルに御自身を示された。
3:1 Then the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation. 3:2 And it came to pass at that time, while Eli was lying down in his place, and when his eyes had begun to grow so dim that he could not see, 3:3 and before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the Lord where the ark of God was, and while Samuel was lying down, 3:4 that the Lord called Samuel. And he answered, "Here I am!" 3:5 So he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am, for you called me." And he said, "I did not call; lie down again." And he went and lay down. 3:6 Then the Lord called yet again, "Samuel!" So Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you called me." He answered, "I did not call, my son; lie down again." 3:7 (Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, nor was the word of the Lord yet revealed to him.) 3:8 And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. Then he arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you did call me." Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy. 3:9 Therefore Eli said to Samuel, "Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, 'Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.' " So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 3:10 Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel answered, "Speak, for Your servant hears." 3:11 Then the Lord said to Samuel: "Behold, I will do something in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle. 3:12 "In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end. 3:13 "For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them. 3:14 "And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever." 3:15 So Samuel lay down until morning, and opened the doors of the house of the Lord. And Samuel was afraid to tell Eli the vision. 3:16 Then Eli called Samuel and said, "Samuel, my son!" And he answered, "Here I am." 3:17 And he said, "What is the word that the Lord spoke to you? Please do not hide it from me. God do so to you, and more also, if you hide anything from me of all the things that He said to you." 3:18 Then Samuel told him everything, and hid nothing from him. And he said, "It is the Lord. Let Him do what seems good to Him." 3:19 So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. 3:20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the Lord. 3:21 Then the Lord appeared again in Shiloh. For the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord.
17:1 イエスは弟子たちに言われた。「つまずきは避けられない。だが、それをもたらす者は不幸である。 17:2 そのような者は、これらの小さい者の一人をつまずかせるよりも、首にひき臼を懸けられて、海に投げ込まれてしまう方がましである。 17:3 あなたがたも気をつけなさい。もし兄弟が罪を犯したら、戒めなさい。そして、悔い改めれば、赦してやりなさい。 17:4 一日に七回あなたに対して罪を犯しても、七回、『悔い改めます』と言ってあなたのところに来るなら、赦してやりなさい。」 17:5 使徒たちが、「わたしどもの信仰を増してください」と言ったとき、 17:6 主は言われた。「もしあなたがたにからし種一粒ほどの信仰があれば、この桑の木に、『抜け出して海に根を下ろせ』と言っても、言うことを聞くであろう。 17:7 あなたがたのうちだれかに、畑を耕すか羊を飼うかする僕がいる場合、その僕が畑から帰って来たとき、『すぐ来て食事の席に着きなさい』と言う者がいるだろうか。 17:8 むしろ、『夕食の用意をしてくれ。腰に帯を締め、わたしが食事を済ますまで給仕してくれ。お前はその後で食事をしなさい』と言うのではなかろうか。 17:9 命じられたことを果たしたからといって、主人は僕に感謝するだろうか。 17:10 あなたがたも同じことだ。自分に命じられたことをみな果たしたら、『わたしどもは取るに足りない僕です。しなければならないことをしただけです』と言いなさい。」
17:11 イエスはエルサレムへ上る途中、サマリアとガリラヤの間を通られた。 17:12 ある村に入ると、重い皮膚病を患っている十人の人が出迎え、遠くの方に立ち止まったまま、 17:13 声を張り上げて、「イエスさま、先生、どうか、わたしたちを憐れんでください」と言った。 17:14 イエスは重い皮膚病を患っている人たちを見て、「祭司たちのところに行って、体を見せなさい」と言われた。彼らは、そこへ行く途中で清くされた。 17:15 その中の一人は、自分がいやされたのを知って、大声で神を賛美しながら戻って来た。 17:16 そして、イエスの足もとにひれ伏して感謝した。この人はサマリア人だった。 17:17 そこで、イエスは言われた。「清くされたのは十人ではなかったか。ほかの九人はどこにいるのか。 17:18 この外国人のほかに、神を賛美するために戻って来た者はいないのか。」 17:19 それから、イエスはその人に言われた。「立ち上がって、行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救った。」
17:1 Then He said to the disciples, "It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! 17:2 "It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. 17:3 "Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 17:4 "And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him." 17:5 And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." 17:6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you. 17:7 "And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down to eat'? 17:8 "But will he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink'? 17:9 "Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not. 17:10 "So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.' " 17:11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 17:12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 17:13 And they lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" 17:14 So when He saw them, He said to them, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 17:16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. 17:17 So Jesus answered and said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 17:18 "Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" 17:19 And He said to him, "Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well."
