10:1 After Abimelech there arose to save Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in the mountains of Ephraim. 10:2 He judged Israel twenty-three years; and he died and was buried in Shamir. 10:3 After him arose Jair, a Gileadite; and he judged Israel twenty-two years. 10:4 Now he had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys; they also had thirty towns, which are called "Havoth Jair" to this day, which are in the land of Gilead. 10:5 And Jair died and was buried in Camon. 10:6 Then the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the people of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook the Lord and did not serve Him. 10:7 So the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the people of Ammon. 10:8 From that year they harassed and oppressed the children of Israel for eighteen years-all the children of Israel who were on the other side of the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, in Gilead. 10:9 Moreover the people of Ammon crossed over the Jordan to fight against Judah also, against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was severely distressed. 10:10 And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, "We have sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!" 10:11 So the Lord said to the children of Israel, "Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites and from the people of Ammon and from the Philistines? 10:12 "Also the Sidonians and Amalekites and Maonites oppressed you; and you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hand. 10:13 "Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods. Therefore I will deliver you no more. 10:14 "Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in your time of distress." 10:15 And the children of Israel said to the Lord, "We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems best to You; only deliver us this day, we pray." 10:16 So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord. And His soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel. 10:17 Then the people of Ammon gathered together and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled together and encamped in Mizpah. 10:18 And the people, the leaders of Gilead, said to one another, "Who is the man who will begin the fight against the people of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."
9:37 翌日、一同が山を下りると、大勢の群衆がイエスを出迎えた。 9:38 そのとき、一人の男が群衆の中から大声で言った。「先生、どうかわたしの子を見てやってください。一人息子です。 9:39 悪霊が取りつくと、この子は突然叫びだします。悪霊はこの子にけいれんを起こさせて泡を吹かせ、さんざん苦しめて、なかなか離れません。 9:40 この霊を追い出してくださるようにお弟子たちに頼みましたが、できませんでした。」 9:41 イエスはお答えになった。「なんと信仰のない、よこしまな時代なのか。いつまでわたしは、あなたがたと共にいて、あなたがたに我慢しなければならないのか。あなたの子供をここに連れて来なさい。」 9:42 その子が来る途中でも、悪霊は投げ倒し、引きつけさせた。イエスは汚れた霊を叱り、子供をいやして父親にお返しになった。 9:43 人々は皆、神の偉大さに心を打たれた。
9:43 イエスがなさったすべてのことに、皆が驚いていると、イエスは弟子たちに言われた。 9:44 「この言葉をよく耳に入れておきなさい。人の子は人々の手に引き渡されようとしている。」 9:45 弟子たちはその言葉が分からなかった。彼らには理解できないように隠されていたのである。彼らは、怖くてその言葉について尋ねられなかった。
9:46 弟子たちの間で、自分たちのうちだれがいちばん偉いかという議論が起きた。 9:47 イエスは彼らの心の内を見抜き、一人の子供の手を取り、御自分のそばに立たせて、 9:48 言われた。「わたしの名のためにこの子供を受け入れる者は、わたしを受け入れるのである。わたしを受け入れる者は、わたしをお遣わしになった方を受け入れるのである。あなたがた皆の中で最も小さい者こそ、最も偉い者である。」
9:49 そこで、ヨハネが言った。「先生、お名前を使って悪霊を追い出している者を見ましたが、わたしたちと一緒にあなたに従わないので、やめさせようとしました。」 9:50 イエスは言われた。「やめさせてはならない。あなたがたに逆らわない者は、あなたがたの味方なのである。」

9:37 Now it happened on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, that a great multitude met Him. 9:38 Suddenly a man from the multitude cried out, saying, "Teacher, I implore You, look on my son, for he is my only child. 9:39 "And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out; it convulses him so that he foams at the mouth, and it departs from him with great difficulty, bruising him. 9:40 "So I implored Your disciples to cast it out, but they could not." 9:41 Then Jesus answered and said, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here." 9:42 And as he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father. 9:43 And they were all amazed at the majesty of God. But while everyone marveled at all the things which Jesus did, He said to His disciples, 9:44 "Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men." 9:45 But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them so that they did not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this saying. 9:46 Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. 9:47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, 9:48 and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great." 9:49 Now John answered and said, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us." 9:50 But Jesus said to him, "Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is on our side." 9:51 Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, 9:52 and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. 9:53 But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. 9:54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?" 9:55 But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. 9:56 "For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them." And they went to another village. 9:57 Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, "Lord, I will follow You wherever You go." 9:58 And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." 9:59 Then He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." 9:60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God." 9:61 And another also said, "Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house." 9:62 But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
