3:31 エフドの後、アナトの子シャムガルが現れ、牛追いの棒でペリシテ人六百人を打ち殺した。彼もイスラエルを救った。
3:1 Now these are the nations which the Lord left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan 3:2 (this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known it), 3:3 namely, five lords of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who dwelt in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal Hermon to the entrance of Hamath. 3:4 And they were left, that He might test Israel by them, to know whether they would obey the commandments of the Lord, which He had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses. 3:5 Thus the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 3:6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons; and they served their gods. 3:7 So the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. They forgot the Lord their God, and served the Baals and Asherahs. 3:8 Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years. 3:9 When the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. 3:10 The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord delivered Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed over Cushan-Rishathaim. 3:11 So the land had rest for forty years. Then Othniel the son of Kenaz died. 3:12 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord strengthened Eglon king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord. 3:13 Then he gathered to himself the people of Ammon and Amalek, went and defeated Israel, and took possession of the City of Palms. 3:14 So the children of Israel served Eglon king of Moab eighteen years. 3:15 But when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. By him the children of Israel sent tribute to Eglon king of Moab. 3:16 Now Ehud made himself a dagger (it was double-edged and a cubit in length) and fastened it under his clothes on his right thigh. 3:17 So he brought the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. (Now Eglon was a very fat man.) 3:18 And when he had finished presenting the tribute, he sent away the people who had carried the tribute. 3:19 But he himself turned back from the stone images that were at Gilgal, and said, "I have a secret message for you, O king." He said, "Keep silence!" And all who attended him went out from him. 3:20 And Ehud came to him (now he was sitting upstairs in his cool private chamber). Then Ehud said, "I have a message from God for you." So he arose from his seat. 3:21 Then Ehud reached with his left hand, took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly. 3:22 Even the hilt went in after the blade, and the fat closed over the blade, for he did not draw the dagger out of his belly; and his entrails came out. 3:23 Then Ehud went out through the porch and shut the doors of the upper room behind him and locked them. 3:24 When he had gone out, Eglon's servants came to look, and to their surprise, the doors of the upper room were locked. So they said, "He is probably attending to his needs in the cool chamber." 3:25 So they waited till they were embarrassed, and still he had not opened the doors of the upper room. Therefore they took the key and opened them. And there was their master, fallen dead on the floor. 3:26 But Ehud had escaped while they delayed, and passed beyond the stone images and escaped to Seirah. 3:27 And it happened, when he arrived, that he blew the trumpet in the mountains of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mountains; and he led them. 3:28 Then he said to them, "Follow me, for the Lord has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand." So they went down after him, seized the fords of the Jordan leading to Moab, and did not allow anyone to cross over. 3:29 And at that time they killed about ten thousand men of Moab, all stout men of valor; not a man escaped. 3:30 So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest for eighty years. 3:31 After him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who killed six hundred men of the Philistines with an ox goad; and he also delivered Israel.

6:27 「しかし、わたしの言葉を聞いているあなたがたに言っておく。敵を愛し、あなたがたを憎む者に親切にしなさい。 6:28 悪口を言う者に祝福を祈り、あなたがたを侮辱する者のために祈りなさい。 6:29 あなたの頬を打つ者には、もう一方の頬をも向けなさい。上着を奪い取る者には、下着をも拒んではならない。 6:30 求める者には、だれにでも与えなさい。あなたの持ち物を奪う者から取り返そうとしてはならない。 6:31 人にしてもらいたいと思うことを、人にもしなさい。 6:32 自分を愛してくれる人を愛したところで、あなたがたにどんな恵みがあろうか。罪人でも、愛してくれる人を愛している。 6:33 また、自分によくしてくれる人に善いことをしたところで、どんな恵みがあろうか。罪人でも同じことをしている。 6:34 返してもらうことを当てにして貸したところで、どんな恵みがあろうか。罪人さえ、同じものを返してもらおうとして、罪人に貸すのである。 6:35 しかし、あなたがたは敵を愛しなさい。人に善いことをし、何も当てにしないで貸しなさい。そうすれば、たくさんの報いがあり、いと高き方の子となる。いと高き方は、恩を知らない者にも悪人にも、情け深いからである。 6:36 あなたがたの父が憐れみ深いように、あなたがたも憐れみ深い者となりなさい。」
6:37 「人を裁くな。そうすれば、あなたがたも裁かれることがない。人を罪人だと決めるな。そうすれば、あなたがたも罪人だと決められることがない。赦しなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたも赦される。 6:38 与えなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたにも与えられる。押し入れ、揺すり入れ、あふれるほどに量りをよくして、ふところに入れてもらえる。あなたがたは自分の量る秤で量り返されるからである。」 6:39 イエスはまた、たとえを話された。「盲人が盲人の道案内をすることができようか。二人とも穴に落ち込みはしないか。 6:40 弟子は師にまさるものではない。しかし、だれでも、十分に修行を積めば、その師のようになれる。 6:41 あなたは、兄弟の目にあるおが屑は見えるのに、なぜ自分の目の中の丸太に気づかないのか。 6:42 自分の目にある丸太を見ないで、兄弟に向かって、『さあ、あなたの目にあるおが屑を取らせてください』と、どうして言えるだろうか。偽善者よ、まず自分の目から丸太を取り除け。そうすれば、はっきり見えるようになって、兄弟の目にあるおが屑を取り除くことができる。」
6:43 「悪い実を結ぶ良い木はなく、また、良い実を結ぶ悪い木はない。 6:44 木は、それぞれ、その結ぶ実によって分かる。茨からいちじくは採れないし、野ばらからぶどうは集められない。 6:45 善い人は良いものを入れた心の倉から良いものを出し、悪い人は悪いものを入れた倉から悪いものを出す。人の口は、心からあふれ出ることを語るのである。」
6:46 「わたしを『主よ、主よ』と呼びながら、なぜわたしの言うことを行わないのか。 6:47 わたしのもとに来て、わたしの言葉を聞き、それを行う人が皆、どんな人に似ているかを示そう。 6:48 それは、地面を深く掘り下げ、岩の上に土台を置いて家を建てた人に似ている。洪水になって川の水がその家に押し寄せたが、しっかり建ててあったので、揺り動かすことができなかった。 6:49 しかし、聞いても行わない者は、土台なしで地面に家を建てた人に似ている。川の水が押し寄せると、家はたちまち倒れ、その壊れ方がひどかった。」
6:20 Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said:"Blessed are you poor,For yours is the kingdom of God. 6:21 Blessed are you who hunger now,For you shall be filled.Blessed are you who weep now,For you shall laugh. 6:22 Blessed are you when men hate you,And when they exclude you,And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,For the Son of Man's sake. 6:23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!For indeed your reward is great in heaven,For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets. 6:24 "But woe to you who are rich,For you have received your consolation. 6:25 Woe to you who are full,For you shall hunger.Woe to you who laugh now,For you shall mourn and weep. 6:26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you,For so did their fathers to the false prophets. 6:27 "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 6:28 "bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. 6:29 "To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. 6:30 "Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. 6:31 "And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. 6:32 "But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 6:33 "And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 6:34 "And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 6:35 "But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 6:36 "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. 6:37 "Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." 6:39 And He spoke a parable to them: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch? 6:40 "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. 6:41 "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? 6:42 "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye. 6:43 "For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 6:44 "For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. 6:46 "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say? 6:47 "Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 6:48 "He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. 6:49 "But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great."
