19:1 In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai. 19:2 For they had departed from Rephidim, had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness. So Israel camped there before the mountain. 19:3 And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 19:4 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself. 19:5 'Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 19:6 'And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel." 19:7 So Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him. 19:8 Then all the people answered together and said, "All that the Lord has spoken we will do." So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord. 19:9 And the Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever." So Moses told the words of the people to the Lord. 19:10 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. 19:11 "And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. 19:12 "You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, 'Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death. 19:13 'Not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with an arrow; whether man or beast, he shall not live.' When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain." 19:14 So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes. 19:15 And he said to the people, "Be ready for the third day; do not come near your wives." 19:16 Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. 19:17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. 19:18 Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. 19:19 And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice. 19:20 Then the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up. 19:21 And the Lord said to Moses, "Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish. 19:22 "Also let the priests who come near the Lord consecrate themselves, lest the Lord break out against them." 19:23 But Moses said to the Lord, "The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai; for You warned us, saying, 'Set bounds around the mountain and consecrate it.' " 19:24 Then the Lord said to him, "Away! Get down and then come up, you and Aaron with you. But do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to the Lord, lest He break out against them." 19:25 So Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.
12:1 そのころ、ある安息日にイエスは麦畑を通られた。弟子たちは空腹になったので、麦の穂を摘んで食べ始めた。 12:2 ファリサイ派の人々がこれを見て、イエスに、「御覧なさい。あなたの弟子たちは、安息日にしてはならないことをしている」と言った。 12:3 そこで、イエスは言われた。「ダビデが自分も供の者たちも空腹だったときに何をしたか、読んだことがないのか。 12:4 神の家に入り、ただ祭司のほかには、自分も供の者たちも食べてはならない供えのパンを食べたではないか。 12:5 安息日に神殿にいる祭司は、安息日の掟を破っても罪にならない、と律法にあるのを読んだことがないのか。 12:6 言っておくが、神殿よりも偉大なものがここにある。 12:7 もし、『わたしが求めるのは憐れみであって、いけにえではない』という言葉の意味を知っていれば、あなたたちは罪もない人たちをとがめなかったであろう。 12:8 人の子は安息日の主なのである。」
12:9 イエスはそこを去って、会堂にお入りになった。 12:10 すると、片手の萎えた人がいた。人々はイエスを訴えようと思って、「安息日に病気を治すのは、律法で許されていますか」と尋ねた。 12:11 そこで、イエスは言われた。「あなたたちのうち、だれか羊を一匹持っていて、それが安息日に穴に落ちた場合、手で引き上げてやらない者がいるだろうか。 12:12 人間は羊よりもはるかに大切なものだ。だから、安息日に善いことをするのは許されている。」 12:13 そしてその人に、「手を伸ばしなさい」と言われた。伸ばすと、もう一方の手のように元どおり良くなった。 12:14 ファリサイ派の人々は出て行き、どのようにしてイエスを殺そうかと相談した。
12:15 イエスはそれを知って、そこを立ち去られた。大勢の群衆が従った。イエスは皆の病気をいやして、 12:16 御自分のことを言いふらさないようにと戒められた。 12:17 それは、預言者イザヤを通して言われていたことが実現するためであった。 12:18 「見よ、わたしの選んだ僕。わたしの心に適った愛する者。この僕にわたしの霊を授ける。彼は異邦人に正義を知らせる。 12:19 彼は争わず、叫ばず、／その声を聞く者は大通りにはいない。 12:20 正義を勝利に導くまで、／彼は傷ついた葦を折らず、／くすぶる灯心を消さない。 12:21 異邦人は彼の名に望みをかける。」
12:1 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. 12:2 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, "Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!" 12:3 But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: 12:4 "how he entered the house of God and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests? 12:5 "Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless? 12:6 "Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple. 12:7 "But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless. 12:8 "For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." 12:9 Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue. 12:10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"-that they might accuse Him. 12:11 Then He said to them, "What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? 12:12 "Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath." 12:13 Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other. 12:14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him. 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. 12:16 Yet He warned them not to make Him known, 12:17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 12:18 "Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen,My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased!I will put My Spirit upon Him,And He will declare justice to the Gentiles. 12:19 He will not quarrel nor cry out,Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. 12:20 A bruised reed He will not break,And smoking flax He will not quench,Till He sends forth justice to victory; 12:21 And in His name Gentiles will trust."
