45:1 ヨセフは、そばで仕えている者の前で、もはや平静を装っていることができなくなり、「みんな、ここから出て行ってくれ」と叫んだ。だれもそばにいなくなってから、ヨセフは兄弟たちに自分の身を明かした。 45:2 ヨセフは、声をあげて泣いたので、エジプト人はそれを聞き、ファラオの宮廷にも伝わった。 45:3 ヨセフは、兄弟たちに言った。「わたしはヨセフです。お父さんはまだ生きておられますか。」兄弟たちはヨセフの前で驚きのあまり、答えることができなかった。 45:4 ヨセフは兄弟たちに言った。「どうか、もっと近寄ってください。」兄弟たちがそばへ近づくと、ヨセフはまた言った。「わたしはあなたたちがエジプトへ売った弟のヨセフです。 45:5 しかし、今は、わたしをここへ売ったことを悔やんだり、責め合ったりする必要はありません。命を救うために、神がわたしをあなたたちより先にお遣わしになったのです。 45:6 この二年の間、世界中に飢饉が襲っていますが、まだこれから五年間は、耕すこともなく、収穫もないでしょう。 45:7 神がわたしをあなたたちより先にお遣わしになったのは、この国にあなたたちの残りの者を与え、あなたたちを生き永らえさせて、大いなる救いに至らせるためです。 45:8 わたしをここへ遣わしたのは、あなたたちではなく、神です。神がわたしをファラオの顧問、宮廷全体の主、エジプト全国を治める者としてくださったのです。 45:9 急いで父上のもとへ帰って、伝えてください。『息子のヨセフがこう言っています。神が、わたしを全エジプトの主としてくださいました。ためらわずに、わたしのところへおいでください。 45:10 そして、ゴシェンの地域に住んでください。そうすればあなたも、息子も孫も、羊や牛の群れも、そのほかすべてのものも、わたしの近くで暮らすことができます。 45:11 そこでのお世話は、わたしがお引き受けいたします。まだ五年間は飢饉が続くのですから、父上も家族も、そのほかすべてのものも、困ることのないようになさらなければいけません。』 45:12 さあ、お兄さんたちも、弟のベニヤミンも、自分の目で見てください。ほかならぬわたしがあなたたちに言っているのです。 45:13 エジプトでわたしが受けているすべての栄誉と、あなたたちが見たすべてのことを父上に話してください。そして、急いで父上をここへ連れて来てください。」 45:14 ヨセフは、弟ベニヤミンの首を抱いて泣いた。ベニヤミンもヨセフの首を抱いて泣いた。 45:15 ヨセフは兄弟たち皆に口づけし、彼らを抱いて泣いた。その後、兄弟たちはヨセフと語り合った。 45:16 ヨセフの兄弟たちがやって来たという知らせがファラオの宮廷に伝わると、ファラオも家来たちも喜んだ。 45:17 ファラオはヨセフに言った。「兄弟たちに、こうするように言いなさい。『家畜に荷を積んでカナンの地に行き、 45:18 父上と家族をここへ連れて来なさい。わたしは、エジプトの国の最良のものを与えよう。あなたたちはこの国の最上の産物を食べるがよい。』 45:19 また、こうするよう命じなさい。『エジプトの国から、あなたたちの子供や妻たちを乗せる馬車を引いて行き、父上もそれに乗せて来るがよい。 45:20 家財道具などには未練を残さないように。エジプトの国中で最良のものが、あなたたちのものになるのだから。』」 45:21 イスラエルの息子たちはそのとおりにした。ヨセフは、ファラオの命令に従って、彼らに馬車を与え、また道中の食糧を与えた。 45:22 ヨセフは更に、全員にそれぞれ晴れ着を与えたが、特にベニヤミンには銀三百枚と晴れ着五枚を与えた。 45:23 父にも、エジプトの最良のものを積んだろば十頭と、穀物やパン、それに父の道中に必要な食糧を積んだ雌ろば十頭を贈った。 45:24 いよいよ兄弟たちを送り出すとき、出発にあたってヨセフは、「途中で、争わないでください」と言った。 45:25 兄弟たちはエジプトからカナン地方へ上って行き、父ヤコブのもとへ帰ると、 45:26 直ちに報告した。「ヨセフがまだ生きています。しかも、エジプト全国を治める者になっています。」父は気が遠くなった。彼らの言うことが信じられなかったのである。 45:27 彼らはヨセフが話したとおりのことを、残らず父に語り、ヨセフが父を乗せるために遣わした馬車を見せた。父ヤコブは元気を取り戻した。 45:28 イスラエルは言った。「よかった。息子ヨセフがまだ生きていたとは。わたしは行こう。死ぬ前に、どうしても会いたい。」
45:1 Then Joseph could not restrain himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried out, "Make everyone go out from me!" So no one stood with him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers. 45:2 And he wept aloud, and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard it. 45:3 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph; does my father still live?" But his brothers could not answer him, for they were dismayed in his presence. 45:4 And Joseph said to his brothers, "Please come near to me." So they came near. Then he said: "I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. 45:5 "But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. 45:6 "For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. 45:7 "And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. 45:8 "So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. 45:9 "Hurry and go up to my father, and say to him, 'Thus says your son Joseph: "God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not tarry. 45:10 "You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me, you and your children, your children's children, your flocks and your herds, and all that you have. 45:11 "There I will provide for you, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty; for there are still five years of famine." ' 45:12 "And behold, your eyes and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see that it is my mouth that speaks to you. 45:13 "So you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you have seen; and you shall hurry and bring my father down here." 45:14 Then he fell on his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck. 45:15 Moreover he kissed all his brothers and wept over them, and after that his brothers talked with him. 45:16 Now the report of it was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, "Joseph's brothers have come." So it pleased Pharaoh and his servants well. 45:17 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Say to your brothers, 'Do this: Load your animals and depart; go to the land of Canaan. 45:18 'Bring your father and your households and come to me; I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land. 45:19 'Now you are commanded-do this: Take carts out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and your wives; bring your father and come. 45:20 'Also do not be concerned about your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.' " 45:21 Then the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them carts, according to the command of Pharaoh, and he gave them provisions for the journey. 45:22 He gave to all of them, to each man, changes of garments; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of garments. 45:23 And he sent to his father these things: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and food for his father for the journey. 45:24 So he sent his brothers away, and they departed; and he said to them, "See that you do not become troubled along the way." 45:25 Then they went up out of Egypt, and came to the land of Canaan to Jacob their father. 45:26 And they told him, saying, "Joseph is still alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt." And Jacob's heart stood still, because he did not believe them. 45:27 But when they told him all the words which Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the carts which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived. 45:28 Then Israel said, "It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die."
