44:1 ヨセフは執事に命じた。「あの人たちの袋を、運べるかぎり多くの食糧でいっぱいにし、めいめいの銀をそれぞれの袋の口のところへ入れておけ。 44:2 それから、わたしの杯、あの銀の杯を、いちばん年下の者の袋の口に、穀物の代金の銀と一緒に入れておきなさい。」執事はヨセフが命じたとおりにした。 44:3 次の朝、辺りが明るくなったころ、一行は見送りを受け、ろばと共に出発した。 44:4 ところが、町を出て、まだ遠くへ行かないうちに、ヨセフは執事に命じた。「すぐに、あの人たちを追いかけ、追いついたら彼らに言いなさい。『どうして、お前たちは悪をもって善に報いるのだ。 44:5 あの銀の杯は、わたしの主人が飲むときや占いのときに、お使いになるものではないか。よくもこんな悪いことができたものだ。』」 44:6 執事は彼らに追いつくと、そのとおりに言った。 44:7 すると、彼らは言った。「御主人様、どうしてそのようなことをおっしゃるのですか。僕どもがそんなことをするなどとは、とんでもないことです。 44:8 袋の口で見つけた銀でさえ、わたしどもはカナンの地から持ち帰って、御主人様にお返ししたではありませんか。そのわたしどもがどうして、あなたの御主君のお屋敷から銀や金を盗んだりするでしょうか。 44:9 僕どもの中のだれからでも杯が見つかれば、その者は死罪に、ほかのわたしどもも皆、御主人様の奴隷になります。」 44:10 すると、執事は言った。「今度もお前たちが言うとおりならよいが。だれであっても、杯が見つかれば、その者はわたしの奴隷にならねばならない。ほかの者には罪は無い。」 44:11 彼らは急いで自分の袋を地面に降ろし、めいめいで袋を開けた。 44:12 執事が年上の者から念入りに調べ始め、いちばん最後に年下の者になったとき、ベニヤミンの袋の中から杯が見つかった。 44:13 彼らは衣を引き裂き、めいめい自分のろばに荷を積むと、町へ引き返した。 44:14 ユダと兄弟たちがヨセフの屋敷に入って行くと、ヨセフはまだそこにいた。一同は彼の前で地にひれ伏した。 44:15 「お前たちのしたこの仕業は何事か。わたしのような者は占い当てることを知らないのか」とヨセフが言うと、 44:16 ユダが答えた。「御主君に何と申し開きできましょう。今更どう言えば、わたしどもの身の証しを立てることができましょう。神が僕どもの罪を暴かれたのです。この上は、わたしどもも、杯が見つかった者と共に、御主君の奴隷になります。」 44:17 ヨセフは言った。「そんなことは全く考えていない。ただ、杯を見つけられた者だけが、わたしの奴隷になればよい。ほかのお前たちは皆、安心して父親のもとへ帰るがよい。」
44:18 ユダはヨセフの前に進み出て言った。「ああ、御主君様。何とぞお怒りにならず、僕の申し上げますことに耳を傾けてください。あなたはファラオに等しいお方でいらっしゃいますから。 44:19 御主君は僕どもに向かって、『父や兄弟がいるのか』とお尋ねになりましたが、 44:20 そのとき、御主君に、『年とった父と、それに父の年寄り子である末の弟がおります。その兄は亡くなり、同じ母の子で残っているのはその子だけですから、父は彼をかわいがっております』と申し上げました。 44:21 すると、あなたさまは、『その子をここへ連れて来い。自分の目で確かめることにする』と僕どもにお命じになりました。 44:22 わたしどもは、御主君に、『あの子は、父親のもとから離れるわけにはまいりません。あの子が父親のもとを離れれば、父は死んでしまいます』と申しましたが、 44:23 あなたさまは、『その末の弟が一緒に来なければ、再びわたしの顔を見ることは許さぬ』と僕どもにおっしゃいました。 44:24 わたしどもは、あなたさまの僕である父のところへ帰り、御主君のお言葉を伝えました。 44:25 そして父が、『もう一度行って、我々の食糧を少し買って来い』と申しました折にも、 44:26 『行くことはできません。もし、末の弟が一緒なら、行って参ります。末の弟が一緒でないかぎり、あの方の顔を見ることはできないのです』と答えました。 44:27 すると、あなたさまの僕である父は、『お前たちも知っているように、わたしの妻は二人の息子を産んだ。 44:28 ところが、そのうちの一人はわたしのところから出て行ったきりだ。きっとかみ裂かれてしまったと思うが、それ以来、会っていない。 44:29 それなのに、お前たちはこの子までも、わたしから取り上げようとする。もしも、何か不幸なことがこの子の身に起こりでもしたら、お前たちはこの白髪の父を、苦しめて陰府に下らせることになるのだ』と申しました。 44:30 今わたしが、この子を一緒に連れずに、あなたさまの僕である父のところへ帰れば、父の魂はこの子の魂と堅く結ばれていますから、 44:31 この子がいないことを知って、父は死んでしまうでしょう。そして、僕どもは白髪の父を、悲嘆のうちに陰府に下らせることになるのです。 44:32 実は、この僕が父にこの子の安全を保障して、『もしも、この子をあなたのもとに連れて帰らないようなことがあれば、わたしが父に対して生涯その罪を負い続けます』と言ったのです。 44:33 何とぞ、この子の代わりに、この僕を御主君の奴隷としてここに残し、この子はほかの兄弟たちと一緒に帰らせてください。 44:34 この子を一緒に連れずに、どうしてわたしは父のもとへ帰ることができましょう。父に襲いかかる苦悶を見るに忍びません。」
44:1 And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, "Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man's money in the mouth of his sack. 44:2 "Also put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and his grain money." So he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. 44:3 As soon as the morning dawned, the men were sent away, they and their donkeys. 44:4 When they had gone out of the city, and were not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward, "Get up, follow the men; and when you overtake them, say to them, 'Why have you repaid evil for good? 44:5 'Is not this the one from which my lord drinks, and with which he indeed practices divination? You have done evil in so doing.' " 44:6 So he overtook them, and he spoke to them these same words. 44:7 And they said to him, "Why does my lord say these words? Far be it from us that your servants should do such a thing. 44:8 "Look, we brought back to you from the land of Canaan the money which we found in the mouth of our sacks. How then could we steal silver or gold from your lord's house? 44:9 "With whomever of your servants it is found, let him die, and we also will be my lord's slaves." 44:10 And he said, "Now also let it be according to your words; he with whom it is found shall be my slave, and you shall be blameless." 44:11 Then each man speedily let down his sack to the ground, and each opened his sack. 44:12 So he searched. He began with the oldest and left off with the youngest; and the cup was found in Benjamin's sack. 44:13 Then they tore their clothes, and each man loaded his donkey and returned to the city. 44:14 So Judah and his brothers came to Joseph's house, and he was still there; and they fell before him on the ground. 44:15 And Joseph said to them, "What deed is this you have done? Did you not know that such a man as I can certainly practice divination?" 44:16 Then Judah said, "What shall we say to my lord? What shall we speak? Or how shall we clear ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants; here we are, my lord's slaves, both we and he also with whom the cup was found." 44:17 But he said, "Far be it from me that I should do so; the man in whose hand the cup was found, he shall be my slave. And as for you, go up in peace to your father." 44:18 Then Judah came near to him and said: "O my lord, please let your servant speak a word in my lord's hearing, and do not let your anger burn against your servant; for you are even like Pharaoh. 44:19 "My lord asked his servants, saying, 'Have you a father or a brother?' 44:20 "And we said to my lord, 'We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, who is young; his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother's children, and his father loves him.' 44:21 "Then you said to your servants, 'Bring him down to me, that I may set my eyes on him.' 44:22 "And we said to my lord, 'The lad cannot leave his father, for if he should leave his father, his father would die.' 44:23 "But you said to your servants, 'Unless your youngest brother comes down with you, you shall see my face no more.' 44:24 "So it was, when we went up to your servant my father, that we told him the words of my lord. 44:25 "And our father said, 'Go back and buy us a little food.' 44:26 "But we said, 'We cannot go down; if our youngest brother is with us, then we will go down; for we may not see the man's face unless our youngest brother is with us.' 44:27 "Then your servant my father said to us, 'You know that my wife bore me two sons; 44:28 'and the one went out from me, and I said, "Surely he is torn to pieces"; and I have not seen him since. 44:29 'But if you take this one also from me, and calamity befalls him, you shall bring down my gray hair with sorrow to the grave.' 44:30 "Now therefore, when I come to your servant my father, and the lad is not with us, since his life is bound up in the lad's life, 44:31 "it will happen, when he sees that the lad is not with us, that he will die. So your servants will bring down the gray hair of your servant our father with sorrow to the grave. 44:32 "For your servant became surety for the lad to my father, saying, 'If I do not bring him back to you, then I shall bear the blame before my father forever.' 44:33 "Now therefore, please let your servant remain instead of the lad as a slave to my lord, and let the lad go up with his brothers. 44:34 "For how shall I go up to my father if the lad is not with me, lest perhaps I see the evil that would come upon my father?"
41:1 【指揮者によって。賛歌。ダビデの詩。】 41:2 いかに幸いなことでしょう／弱いものに思いやりのある人は。災いのふりかかるとき／主はその人を逃れさせてくださいます。 41:3 主よ、その人を守って命を得させ／この地で幸せにしてください。貪欲な敵に引き渡さないでください。 41:4 主よ、その人が病の床にあるとき、支え／力を失って伏すとき、立ち直らせてください。 41:5 わたしは申します。「主よ、憐れんでください。あなたに罪を犯したわたしを癒してください。」 41:6 敵はわたしを苦しめようとして言います。「早く死んでその名も消えうせるがよい。」 41:7 見舞いに来れば、むなしいことを言いますが／心に悪意を満たし、外に出ればそれを口にします。 41:8 わたしを憎む者は皆、集まってささやき／わたしに災いを謀っています。 41:9 「呪いに取りつかれて床に就いた。二度と起き上がれまい。」 41:10 わたしの信頼していた仲間／わたしのパンを食べる者が／威張ってわたしを足げにします。 41:11 主よ、どうかわたしを憐れみ／再びわたしを起き上がらせてください。そうしてくだされば／彼らを見返すことができます。 41:12 そしてわたしは知るでしょう／わたしはあなたの御旨にかなうのだと／敵がわたしに対して勝ち誇ることはないと。 41:13 どうか、無垢なわたしを支え／とこしえに、御前に立たせてください。 41:14 主をたたえよ、イスラエルの神を／世々とこしえに。アーメン、アーメン。
41:1 Blessed is he who considers the poor;The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 41:2 The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive,And he will be blessed on the earth;You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. 41:3 The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness;You will sustain him on his sickbed. 41:4 I said, "Lord, be merciful to me;Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You." 41:5 My enemies speak evil of me:"When will he die, and his name perish?" 41:6 And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies;His heart gathers iniquity to itself;When he goes out, he tells it. 41:7 All who hate me whisper together against me;Against me they devise my hurt. 41:8 "An evil disease," they say, "clings to him.And now that he lies down, he will rise up no more." 41:9 Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted,Who ate my bread,Has lifted up his heel against me. 41:10 But You, O Lord, be merciful to me, and raise me up,That I may repay them. 41:11 By this I know that You are well pleased with me,Because my enemy does not triumph over me. 41:12 As for me, You uphold me in my integrity,And set me before Your face forever. 41:13 Blessed be the Lord God of IsraelFrom everlasting to everlasting!Amen and Amen.
