10:1 シェバの女王は主の御名によるソロモンの名声を聞き、難問をもって彼を試そうとしてやって来た。 10:2 彼女は極めて大勢の随員を伴い、香料、非常に多くの金、宝石をらくだに積んでエルサレムに来た。ソロモンのところに来ると、彼女はあらかじめ考えておいたすべての質問を浴びせたが、 10:3 ソロモンはそのすべてに解答を与えた。王に分からない事、答えられない事は何一つなかった。 10:4 シェバの女王は、ソロモンの知恵と彼の建てた宮殿を目の当たりにし、 10:5 また食卓の料理、居並ぶ彼の家臣、丁重にもてなす給仕たちとその装い、献酌官、それに王が主の神殿でささげる焼き尽くす献げ物を見て、息も止まるような思いであった。 10:6 女王は王に言った。「わたしが国で、あなたの御事績とあなたのお知恵について聞いていたことは、本当のことでした。 10:7 わたしは、ここに来て、自分の目で見るまでは、そのことを信じてはいませんでした。しかし、わたしに知らされていたことはその半分にも及ばず、お知恵と富はうわさに聞いていたことをはるかに超えています。 10:8 あなたの臣民はなんと幸せなことでしょう。いつもあなたの前に立ってあなたのお知恵に接している家臣たちはなんと幸せなことでしょう。 10:9 あなたをイスラエルの王位につけることをお望みになったあなたの神、主はたたえられますように。主はとこしえにイスラエルを愛し、あなたを王とし、公正と正義を行わせられるからです。」 10:10 彼女は金百二十キカル、非常に多くの香料、宝石を王に贈ったが、このシェバの女王がソロモン王に贈ったほど多くの香料は二度と入って来なかった。 10:11 また、オフィルから金を積んで来たヒラムの船団は、オフィルから極めて大量の白檀や宝石も運んで来た。 10:12 王はその白檀で主の神殿と王宮の欄干や、詠唱者のための竪琴や琴を作った。このように白檀がもたらされたことはなく、今日までだれもそのようなことを見た者はなかった。 10:13 ソロモン王は、シェバの女王に対し、豊かに富んだ王にふさわしい贈り物をしたほかに、女王が願うものは何でも望みのままに与えた。こうして女王とその一行は故国に向かって帰って行った。
10:14 ソロモンの歳入は金六百六十六キカル、 10:15 そのほかに隊商の納める税金、貿易商、アラビアのすべての王、地方総督からの収入があった。 10:16 ソロモン王は延金の大盾二百を作った。大盾一つにつき用いた金は六百シェケルであった。 10:17 延金の小盾も三百作った。小盾一つにつき用いた金は三マネであった。王はこれらの盾を「レバノンの森の家」に置いた。 10:18 王は更に象牙の大きな王座を作り、これを精錬した金で覆った。 10:19 王座には六つの段があり、王座の背もたれの上部は丸かった。また、座席の両側には肘掛けがあり、その脇に二頭の獅子が立っていた。 10:20 六つの段の左右にも十二頭の獅子が立っていた。これほどのものが作られた国はどこにもなかった。 10:21 ソロモン王の杯はすべて金、「レバノンの森の家」の器もすべて純金で出来ていた。銀製のものはなかった。ソロモンの時代には、銀は値打ちのないものと見なされていた。 10:22 王は海にヒラムの船団のほかにタルシシュの船団も所有していて、三年に一度、タルシシュの船団は、金、銀、象牙、猿、ひひを積んで入港した。 10:23 ソロモン王は世界中の王の中で最も大いなる富と知恵を有し、 10:24 全世界の人々が、神がソロモンの心にお授けになった知恵を聞くために、彼に拝謁を求めた。 10:25 彼らは、それぞれ贈り物として銀の器、金の器、衣類、武器、香料、馬とらばを毎年携えて来た。 10:26 ソロモンは戦車と騎兵を集め、戦車千四百、騎兵一万二千を保有した。彼はそれを戦車隊の町々およびエルサレムの王のもとに配置した。 10:27 王はエルサレムで銀を石のように、レバノン杉をシェフェラのいちじく桑のように大量に供給した。 10:28 ソロモンの馬はエジプトとクエから輸入された。王の商人は代価を払ってクエからそれを買い入れた。 10:29 エジプトから輸入された戦車は一両銀六百シェケル、馬は一頭百五十シェケルの値が付けられた。同じように、それらは王の商人によってヘト人やアラム人のすべての王に輸出された。
10:1 Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions. 10:2 She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart. 10:3 So Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing so difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her. 10:4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, 10:5 the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her. 10:6 Then she said to the king: "It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom. 10:7 "However I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I heard. 10:8 "Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom! 10:9 "Blessed be the Lord your God, who delighted in you, setting you on the throne of Israel! Because the Lord has loved Israel forever, therefore He made you king, to do justice and righteousness." 10:10 Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon. 10:11 Also, the ships of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought great quantities of almug wood and precious stones from Ophir. 10:12 And the king made steps of the almug wood for the house of the Lord and for the king's house, also harps and stringed instruments for singers. There never again came such almug wood, nor has the like been seen to this day. 10:13 Now King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired, whatever she asked, besides what Solomon had given her according to the royal generosity. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. 10:14 The weight of gold that came to Solomon yearly was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold, 10:15 besides that from the traveling merchants, from the income of traders, from all the kings of Arabia, and from the governors of the country. 10:16 And King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield. 10:17 He also made three hundred shields of hammered gold; three minas of gold went into each shield. The king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon. 10:18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold. 10:19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round at the back; there were armrests on either side of the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the armrests. 10:20 Twelve lions stood there, one on each side of the six steps; nothing like this had been made for any other kingdom. 10:21 All King Solomon's drinking vessels were gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Not one was silver, for this was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon. 10:22 For the king had merchant ships at sea with the fleet of Hiram. Once every three years the merchant ships came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and monkeys. 10:23 So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. 10:24 Now all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. 10:25 Each man brought his present: articles of silver and gold, garments, armor, spices, horses, and mules, at a set rate year by year. 10:26 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem. 10:27 The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedar trees as abundant as the sycamores which are in the lowland. 10:28 Also Solomon had horses imported from Egypt and Keveh; the king's merchants bought them in Keveh at the current price. 10:29 Now a chariot that was imported from Egypt cost six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse one hundred and fifty; and thus, through their agents, they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria.
6:41 ユダヤ人たちは、イエスが「わたしは天から降って来たパンである」と言われたので、イエスのことでつぶやき始め、 6:42 こう言った。「これはヨセフの息子のイエスではないか。我々はその父も母も知っている。どうして今、『わたしは天から降って来た』などと言うのか。」 6:43 イエスは答えて言われた。「つぶやき合うのはやめなさい。 6:44 わたしをお遣わしになった父が引き寄せてくださらなければ、だれもわたしのもとへ来ることはできない。わたしはその人を終わりの日に復活させる。 6:45 預言者の書に、『彼らは皆、神によって教えられる』と書いてある。父から聞いて学んだ者は皆、わたしのもとに来る。 6:46 父を見た者は一人もいない。神のもとから来た者だけが父を見たのである。 6:47 はっきり言っておく。信じる者は永遠の命を得ている。 6:48 わたしは命のパンである。 6:49 あなたたちの先祖は荒れ野でマンナを食べたが、死んでしまった。 6:50 しかし、これは、天から降って来たパンであり、これを食べる者は死なない。 6:51 わたしは、天から降って来た生きたパンである。このパンを食べるならば、その人は永遠に生きる。わたしが与えるパンとは、世を生かすためのわたしの肉のことである。」 6:52 それで、ユダヤ人たちは、「どうしてこの人は自分の肉を我々に食べさせることができるのか」と、互いに激しく議論し始めた。 6:53 イエスは言われた。「はっきり言っておく。人の子の肉を食べ、その血を飲まなければ、あなたたちの内に命はない。 6:54 わたしの肉を食べ、わたしの血を飲む者は、永遠の命を得、わたしはその人を終わりの日に復活させる。 6:55 わたしの肉はまことの食べ物、わたしの血はまことの飲み物だからである。 6:56 わたしの肉を食べ、わたしの血を飲む者は、いつもわたしの内におり、わたしもまたいつもその人の内にいる。 6:57 生きておられる父がわたしをお遣わしになり、またわたしが父によって生きるように、わたしを食べる者もわたしによって生きる。 6:58 これは天から降って来たパンである。先祖が食べたのに死んでしまったようなものとは違う。このパンを食べる者は永遠に生きる。」 6:59 これらは、イエスがカファルナウムの会堂で教えていたときに話されたことである。
6:41 The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, "I am the bread which came down from heaven."
6:42 And they said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, 'I have come down from heaven'?"
6:43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, "Do not murmur among yourselves.
6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
6:45 "It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.
6:46 "Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.
6:47 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.
6:48 "I am the bread of life.
6:49 "Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
6:50 "This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
6:51 "I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."
6:52 The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?"
6:53 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
6:54 "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
6:55 "For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
6:56 "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.
6:57 "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
6:58 "This is the bread which came down from heaven-not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."
6:59 These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.
