6:1 ソロモン王が主の神殿の建築に着手したのは、イスラエル人がエジプトの地を出てから四百八十年目、ソロモンがイスラエルの王になってから四年目のジウの月、すなわち第二の月であった。 6:2 ソロモン王が主のために築いた神殿は、奥行きが六十アンマ、間口が二十アンマ、高さが三十アンマであった。 6:3 神殿の外陣の前にある前廊は、奥行きが神殿の間口と同様に二十アンマであり、間口は神殿の前で十アンマであった。 6:4 神殿には格子作りの窓を付けた。 6:5 神殿の壁の周囲には脇間、すなわち外陣と内陣のある神殿の壁の周囲に取り囲むように脇廊を造った。 6:6 この脇間の幅は、一階五アンマ、二階六アンマ、三階七アンマであった。それは、脇間が下になるほど狭くなるようにして、建物の壁に梁をはめ込まずに済むようにしたからである。 6:7 神殿の建築は、石切り場でよく準備された石を用いて行われたので、建築中の神殿では、槌、つるはし、その他、鉄の道具の音は全く聞こえなかった。 6:8 二階の脇廊に通じる入り口は、神殿の右側にあり、らせん階段で二階へ、更に二階から三階へと上がるように造られていた。 6:9 ソロモンは神殿の建築を完了するにあたり、レバノン杉の梁と板で神殿の天井を造った。 6:10 なお、神殿全体に付けられた脇間は、各階の高さが五アンマであり、レバノン杉の材木で神殿に固定された。 6:11 そのとき、主の言葉がソロモンに臨んだ。 6:12 「あなたが建てている神殿について、もしあなたがわたしの掟に従って歩み、わたしの法を実行し、わたしのどの戒めにも従って歩むなら、わたしは父ダビデに告げた約束をあなたに対して果たそう。 6:13 わたしはイスラエルの人々の中に住み、わが民イスラエルを見捨てることはない。」 6:14 こうしてソロモンは神殿の建築を完了した。 6:15 彼は神殿の内壁を床から天井の壁面までレバノン杉の板で仕上げ、内部を木材で覆った。神殿の床にも糸杉の板を張り詰めた。 6:16 また、神殿の奥の部分二十アンマに床から天井の壁面までレバノン杉の板を張って、内部に内陣、すなわち至聖所を造った。 6:17 その前にある外陣と言われる部分は四十アンマであった。 6:18 神殿の内部にあるレバノン杉の壁面はひょうたんと花模様の浮き彫りで飾られていた。全面がレバノン杉で出来ていて、石は全く見えなかった。 6:19 神殿の奥に設けられた内陣は、主の契約の箱を安置するためのものであった。 6:20 この内陣は奥行きが二十アンマ、間口が二十アンマ、高さが二十アンマであり、彼はこれと、その前のレバノン杉の祭壇を純金で覆った。 6:21 またソロモンは、神殿の奥を純金で覆い、内陣の前には金の鎖を渡し、これを金で覆った。 6:22 このように、彼は神殿全体をその隅々まで金で覆い、内陣にある祭壇もすべて金で覆った。 6:23 ソロモンはオリーブ材で二体のケルビムを作り、内陣に据えた。その高さは十アンマであった。 6:24 ケルビムの翼は一方が五アンマで、他方も五アンマ、一方の翼の先から他方の翼の先まで十アンマであった。 6:25 もう一体のケルビムも十アンマで、ケルビムは二体とも同形同寸であった。 6:26 一方のケルビムは高さが十アンマで、もう一方のケルビムも同様であった。 6:27 ソロモンはこのケルビムを神殿の奥に置いた。二体のケルビムはそれぞれ翼を広げ、一方のケルビムの翼が一方の壁に触れ、もう一方のケルビムの翼も、もう一方の壁に触れていた。また、それぞれの内側に向かった翼は接し合っていた。 6:28 彼はケルビムも金で覆った。 6:29 神殿の周囲の壁面はすべて、内側の部屋も外側の部屋も、ケルビムとなつめやしと花模様の浮き彫りが施されていた。 6:30 神殿の床には、内側の部屋も外側の部屋も全面に金を張り詰めた。 6:31 ソロモンは内陣の入り口にオリーブ材の扉を付けた。壁柱と門柱は五角形であった。 6:32 そのオリーブ材の二枚の扉にもケルビムとなつめやしと花模様を浮き彫りにして、これを金で覆った。ケルビムとなつめやしの上にも金を張った。 6:33 同様に外陣の入り口にもオリーブ材の門柱を付けた。これは四角形であった。 6:34 そして糸杉材の二枚の扉を付けた。その一方の扉の二枚の板戸は折り畳み戸、もう一方の扉の二枚の板戸も折り畳み戸であった。 6:35 そこにもケルビムとなつめやしと花模様を浮き彫りにし、彫られているところによく合わせて金を張った。 6:36 また内庭を造り、切り石を三列、レバノン杉の角材を一列重ねて据えた。 6:37 主の神殿の基礎が据えられたのが、ソロモンの治世第四年のジウの月、 6:38 同第十一年のブルの月、すなわち第八の月に神殿はその細部に至るまで計画どおりに完成した。その建築には七年を要した。
6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord. 6:2 Now the house which King Solomon built for the Lord, its length was sixty cubits, its width twenty, and its height thirty cubits. 6:3 The vestibule in front of the sanctuary of the house was twenty cubits long across the width of the house, and the width of the vestible extended ten cubits from the front of the house. 6:4 And he made for the house windows with beveled frames. 6:5 Against the wall of the temple he built chambers all around, against the walls of the temple, all around the sanctuary and the inner sanctuary. Thus he made side chambers all around it. 6:6 The lowest chamber was five cubits wide, the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for he made narrow ledges around the outside of the temple, so that the support beams would not be fastened into the walls of the temple. 6:7 And the temple, when it was being built, was built with stone finished at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built. 6:8 The doorway for the middle story was on the right side of the temple. They went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle to the third. 6:9 So he built the temple and finished it, and he paneled the temple with beams and boards of cedar. 6:10 And he built side chambers against the entire temple, each five cubits high; they were attached to the temple with cedar beams. 6:11 Then the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying: 6:12 "Concerning this temple which you are building, if you walk in My statutes, execute My judgments, keep all My commandments, and walk in them, then I will perform My word with you, which I spoke to your father David. 6:13 "And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel." 6:14 So Solomon built the temple and finished it. 6:15 And he built the inside walls of the temple with cedar boards; from the floor of the temple to the ceiling he paneled the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the temple with planks of cypress. 6:16 Then he built the twenty-cubit room at the rear of the temple, from floor to ceiling, with cedar boards; he built it inside as the inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place. 6:17 And in front of it the temple sanctuary was forty cubits long. 6:18 The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with ornamental buds and open flowers. All was cedar; there was no stone to be seen. 6:19 And he prepared the inner sanctuary inside the temple, to set the ark of the covenant of the Lord there. 6:20 The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high. He overlaid it with pure gold, and overlaid the altar of cedar. 6:21 So Solomon overlaid the inside of the temple with pure gold. He stretched gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold. 6:22 The whole temple he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the temple; also he overlaid with gold the entire altar that was by the inner sanctuary. 6:23 Inside the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high. 6:24 One wing of the cherub was five cubits, and the other wing of the cherub five cubits: ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other. 6:25 And the other cherub was ten cubits; both cherubim were of the same size and shape. 6:26 The height of one cherub was ten cubits, and so was the other cherub. 6:27 Then he set the cherubim inside the inner room; and they stretched out the wings of the cherubim so that the wing of the one touched one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall. And their wings touched each other in the middle of the room. 6:28 Also he overlaid the cherubim with gold. 6:29 Then he carved all the walls of the temple all around, both the inner and outer sanctuaries, with carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. 6:30 And the floor of the temple he overlaid with gold, both the inner and outer sanctuaries. 6:31 For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood; the lintel and doorposts were one-fifth of the wall. 6:32 The two doors were of olive wood; and he carved on them figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees. 6:33 So for the door of the sanctuary he also made doorposts of olive wood, one-fourth of the wall. 6:34 And the two doors were of cypress wood; two panels comprised one folding door, and two panels comprised the other folding door. 6:35 Then he carved cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers on them, and overlaid them with gold applied evenly on the carved work. 6:36 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewn stone and a row of cedar beams. 6:37 In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv. 6:38 And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its details and according to all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.

5:30 "I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. 5:31 "If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. 5:32 "There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true. 5:33 "You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. 5:34 "Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. 5:35 "He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light. 5:36 "But I have a greater witness than John's; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish-the very works that I do-bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me. 5:37 "And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. 5:38 "But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 5:39 "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 5:40 "But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. 5:41 "I do not receive honor from men. 5:42 "But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. 5:43 "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. 5:44 "How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? 5:45 "Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you-Moses, in whom you trust. 5:46 "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 5:47 "But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"
