29:1 ヤコブは旅を続けて、東方の人々の土地へ行った。 29:2 ふと見ると、野原に井戸があり、そのそばに羊が三つの群れになって伏していた。その井戸から羊の群れに、水を飲ませることになっていたからである。ところが、井戸の口の上には大きな石が載せてあった。 29:3 まず羊の群れを全部そこに集め、石を井戸の口から転がして羊の群れに水を飲ませ、また石を元の所に戻しておくことになっていた。 29:4 ヤコブはそこにいた人たちに尋ねた。「皆さんはどちらの方ですか。」「わたしたちはハランの者です」と答えたので、 29:5 ヤコブは尋ねた。「では、ナホルの息子のラバンを知っていますか。」「ええ、知っています」と彼らが答えたので、 29:6 ヤコブは更に尋ねた。「元気でしょうか。」「元気です。もうすぐ、娘のラケルも羊の群れを連れてやって来ます」と彼らは答えた。 29:7 ヤコブは言った。「まだこんなに日は高いし、家畜を集める時でもない。羊に水を飲ませて、もう一度草を食べさせに行ったらどうですか。」 29:8 すると、彼らは答えた。「そうはできないのです。羊の群れを全部ここに集め、あの石を井戸の口から転がして羊に水を飲ませるのですから。」 29:9 ヤコブが彼らと話しているうちに、ラケルが父の羊の群れを連れてやって来た。彼女も羊を飼っていたからである。 29:10 ヤコブは、伯父ラバンの娘ラケルと伯父ラバンの羊の群れを見るとすぐに、井戸の口へ近寄り石を転がして、伯父ラバンの羊に水を飲ませた。 29:11 ヤコブはラケルに口づけし、声をあげて泣いた。 29:12 ヤコブはやがて、ラケルに、自分が彼女の父の甥に当たり、リベカの息子であることを打ち明けた。ラケルは走って行って、父に知らせた。 29:13 ラバンは、妹の息子ヤコブの事を聞くと、走って迎えに行き、ヤコブを抱き締め口づけした。それから、ヤコブを自分の家に案内した。ヤコブがラバンに事の次第をすべて話すと、 29:14 ラバンは彼に言った。「お前は、本当にわたしの骨肉の者だ。」
29:14 ヤコブがラバンのもとにひと月ほど滞在したある日、 29:15 ラバンはヤコブに言った。「お前は身内の者だからといって、ただで働くことはない。どんな報酬が欲しいか言ってみなさい。」 29:16 ところで、ラバンには二人の娘があり、姉の方はレア、妹の方はラケルといった。 29:17 レアは優しい目をしていたが、ラケルは顔も美しく、容姿も優れていた。 29:18 ヤコブはラケルを愛していたので、「下の娘のラケルをくださるなら、わたしは七年間あなたの所で働きます」と言った。 29:19 ラバンは答えた。「あの娘をほかの人に嫁がせるより、お前に嫁がせる方が良い。わたしの所にいなさい。」 29:20 ヤコブはラケルのために七年間働いたが、彼女を愛していたので、それはほんの数日のように思われた。 29:21 ヤコブはラバンに言った。「約束の年月が満ちましたから、わたしのいいなずけと一緒にならせてください。」 29:22 ラバンは土地の人たちを皆集め祝宴を開き、 29:23 夜になると、娘のレアをヤコブのもとに連れて行ったので、ヤコブは彼女のところに入った。 29:24 ラバンはまた、女奴隷ジルパを娘レアに召し使いとして付けてやった。 29:25 ところが、朝になってみると、それはレアであった。ヤコブがラバンに、「どうしてこんなことをなさったのですか。わたしがあなたのもとで働いたのは、ラケルのためではありませんか。なぜ、わたしをだましたのですか」と言うと、 29:26 ラバンは答えた。「我々の所では、妹を姉より先に嫁がせることはしないのだ。 29:27 とにかく、この一週間の婚礼の祝いを済ませなさい。そうすれば、妹の方もお前に嫁がせよう。だがもう七年間、うちで働いてもらわねばならない。」 29:28 ヤコブが、言われたとおり一週間の婚礼の祝いを済ませると、ラバンは下の娘のラケルもヤコブに妻として与えた。 29:29 ラバンはまた、女奴隷ビルハを娘ラケルに召し使いとして付けてやった。 29:30 こうして、ヤコブはラケルをめとった。ヤコブはレアよりもラケルを愛した。そして、更にもう七年ラバンのもとで働いた。
29:31 主は、レアが疎んじられているのを見て彼女の胎を開かれたが、ラケルには子供ができなかった。 29:32 レアは身ごもって男の子を産み、ルベンと名付けた。それは、彼女が、「主はわたしの苦しみを顧みて（ラア）くださった。これからは夫もわたしを愛してくれるにちがいない」と言ったからである。 29:33 レアはまた身ごもって男の子を産み、「主はわたしが疎んじられていることを耳にされ（シャマ）、またこの子をも授けてくださった」と言って、シメオンと名付けた。 29:34 レアはまた身ごもって男の子を産み、「これからはきっと、夫はわたしに結び付いて（ラベ）くれるだろう。夫のために三人も男の子を産んだのだから」と言った。そこで、その子をレビと名付けた。 29:35 レアはまた身ごもって男の子を産み、「今度こそ主をほめたたえ（ヤダ）よう」と言った。そこで、その子をユダと名付けた。しばらく、彼女は子を産まなくなった。
29:1 So Jacob went on his journey and came to the land of the people of the East. 29:2 And he looked, and saw a well in the field; and behold, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks. A large stone was on the well's mouth. 29:3 Now all the flocks would be gathered there; and they would roll the stone from the well's mouth, water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the well's mouth. 29:4 And Jacob said to them, "My brethren, where are you from?" And they said, "We are from Haran." 29:5 Then he said to them, "Do you know Laban the son of Nahor?" And they said, "We know him." 29:6 So he said to them, "Is he well?" And they said, "He is well. And look, his daughter Rachel is coming with the sheep." 29:7 Then he said, "Look, it is still high day; it is not time for the cattle to be gathered together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them." 29:8 But they said, "We cannot until all the flocks are gathered together, and they have rolled the stone from the well's mouth; then we water the sheep." 29:9 Now while he was still speaking with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep, for she was a shepherdess. 29:10 And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother. 29:11 Then Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice and wept. 29:12 And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father's relative and that he was Rebekah's son. So she ran and told her father. 29:13 Then it came to pass, when Laban heard the report about Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him and kissed him, and brought him to his house. So he told Laban all these things. 29:14 And Laban said to him, "Surely you are my bone and my flesh." And he stayed with him for a month. 29:15 Then Laban said to Jacob, "Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what should your wages be?" 29:16 Now Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 29:17 Leah's eyes were delicate, but Rachel was beautiful of form and appearance. 29:18 Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, "I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter." 29:19 And Laban said, "It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me." 29:20 So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her. 29:21 Then Jacob said to Laban, "Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in to her." 29:22 And Laban gathered together all the men of the place and made a feast. 29:23 Now it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter and brought her to Jacob; and he went in to her. 29:24 And Laban gave his maid Zilpah to his daughter Leah as a maid. 29:25 So it came to pass in the morning, that behold, it was Leah. And he said to Laban, "What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served you? Why then have you deceived me?" 29:26 And Laban said, "It must not be done so in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn. 29:27 "Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years." 29:28 Then Jacob did so and fulfilled her week. So he gave him his daughter Rachel as wife also. 29:29 And Laban gave his maid Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as a maid. 29:30 Then Jacob also went in to Rachel, and he also loved Rachel more than Leah. And he served with Laban still another seven years. 29:31 When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren. 29:32 So Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, "The Lord has surely looked on my affliction. Now therefore, my husband will love me." 29:33 Then she conceived again and bore a son, and said, "Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also." And she called his name Simeon. 29:34 She conceived again and bore a son, and said, "Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons." Therefore his name was called Levi. 29:35 And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, "Now I will praise the Lord." Therefore she called his name Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
27:1 【ダビデの詩。】主はわたしの光、わたしの救い／わたしは誰を恐れよう。主はわたしの命の砦／わたしは誰の前におののくことがあろう。 27:2 さいなむ者が迫り／わたしの肉を食い尽くそうとするが／わたしを苦しめるその敵こそ、かえって／よろめき倒れるであろう。 27:3 彼らがわたしに対して陣を敷いても／わたしの心は恐れない。わたしに向かって戦いを挑んで来ても／わたしには確信がある。 27:4 ひとつのことを主に願い、それだけを求めよう。命のある限り、主の家に宿り／主を仰ぎ望んで喜びを得／その宮で朝を迎えることを。 27:5 災いの日には必ず、主はわたしを仮庵にひそませ／幕屋の奥深くに隠してくださる。岩の上に立たせ 27:6 群がる敵の上に頭を高く上げさせてくださる。わたしは主の幕屋でいけにえをささげ、歓声をあげ／主に向かって賛美の歌をうたう。 27:7 主よ、呼び求めるわたしの声を聞き／憐れんで、わたしに答えてください。 27:8 心よ、主はお前に言われる／「わたしの顔を尋ね求めよ」と。主よ、わたしは御顔を尋ね求めます。 27:9 御顔を隠すことなく、怒ることなく／あなたの僕を退けないでください。あなたはわたしの助け。救いの神よ、わたしを離れないでください／見捨てないでください。 27:10 父母はわたしを見捨てようとも／主は必ず、わたしを引き寄せてくださいます。 27:11 主よ、あなたの道を示し／平らな道に導いてください。わたしを陥れようとする者がいるのです。 27:12 貪欲な敵にわたしを渡さないでください。偽りの証人、不法を言い広める者が／わたしに逆らって立ちました。 27:13 わたしは信じます／命あるものの地で主の恵みを見ることを。 27:14 主を待ち望め／雄々しくあれ、心を強くせよ。主を待ち望め。
27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;Whom shall I fear?The Lord is the strength of my life;Of whom shall I be afraid? 27:2 When the wicked came against meTo eat up my flesh,My enemies and foes,They stumbled and fell. 27:3 Though an army may encamp against me,My heart shall not fear;Though war should rise against me,In this I will be confident. 27:4 One thing I have desired of the Lord,That will I seek:That I may dwell in the house of the LordAll the days of my life,To behold the beauty of the Lord,And to inquire in His temple. 27:5 For in the time of troubleHe shall hide me in His pavilion;In the secret place of His tabernacleHe shall hide me;He shall set me high upon a rock. 27:6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. 27:7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. 27:8 When You said, "Seek My face,"My heart said to You, "Your face, Lord, I will seek." 27:9 Do not hide Your face from me;Do not turn Your servant away in anger;You have been my help;Do not leave me nor forsake me,O God of my salvation. 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me,Then the Lord will take care of me. 27:11 Teach me Your way, O Lord,And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. 27:12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;For false witnesses have risen against me,And such as breathe out violence. 27:13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believedThat I would see the goodness of the LordIn the land of the living. 27:14 Wait on the Lord;Be of good courage,And He shall strengthen your heart;Wait, I say, on the Lord!
