18:1 主はマムレの樫の木の所でアブラハムに現れた。暑い真昼に、アブラハムは天幕の入り口に座っていた。 18:2 目を上げて見ると、三人の人が彼に向かって立っていた。アブラハムはすぐに天幕の入り口から走り出て迎え、地にひれ伏して、 18:3 言った。「お客様、よろしければ、どうか、僕のもとを通り過ぎないでください。 18:4 水を少々持って来させますから、足を洗って、木陰でどうぞひと休みなさってください。 18:5 何か召し上がるものを調えますので、疲れをいやしてから、お出かけください。せっかく、僕の所の近くをお通りになったのですから。」その人たちは言った。「では、お言葉どおりにしましょう。」 18:6 アブラハムは急いで天幕に戻り、サラのところに来て言った。「早く、上等の小麦粉を三セアほどこねて、パン菓子をこしらえなさい。」 18:7 アブラハムは牛の群れのところへ走って行き、柔らかくておいしそうな子牛を選び、召し使いに渡し、急いで料理させた。 18:8 アブラハムは、凝乳、乳、出来立ての子牛の料理などを運び、彼らの前に並べた。そして、彼らが木陰で食事をしている間、そばに立って給仕をした。 18:9 彼らはアブラハムに尋ねた。「あなたの妻のサラはどこにいますか。」「はい、天幕の中におります」とアブラハムが答えると、 18:10 彼らの一人が言った。「わたしは来年の今ごろ、必ずここにまた来ますが、そのころには、あなたの妻のサラに男の子が生まれているでしょう。」サラは、すぐ後ろの天幕の入り口で聞いていた。 18:11 アブラハムもサラも多くの日を重ねて老人になっており、しかもサラは月のものがとうになくなっていた。 18:12 サラはひそかに笑った。自分は年をとり、もはや楽しみがあるはずもなし、主人も年老いているのに、と思ったのである。 18:13 主はアブラハムに言われた。「なぜサラは笑ったのか。なぜ年をとった自分に子供が生まれるはずがないと思ったのだ。 18:14 主に不可能なことがあろうか。来年の今ごろ、わたしはここに戻ってくる。そのころ、サラには必ず男の子が生まれている。」 18:15 サラは恐ろしくなり、打ち消して言った。「わたしは笑いませんでした。」主は言われた。「いや、あなたは確かに笑った。」
18:16 その人たちはそこを立って、ソドムを見下ろす所まで来た。アブラハムも、彼らを見送るために一緒に行った。 18:17 主は言われた。「わたしが行おうとしていることをアブラハムに隠す必要があろうか。 18:18 アブラハムは大きな強い国民になり、世界のすべての国民は彼によって祝福に入る。 18:19 わたしがアブラハムを選んだのは、彼が息子たちとその子孫に、主の道を守り、主に従って正義を行うよう命じて、主がアブラハムに約束したことを成就するためである。」 18:20 主は言われた。「ソドムとゴモラの罪は非常に重い、と訴える叫びが実に大きい。 18:21 わたしは降って行き、彼らの行跡が、果たして、わたしに届いた叫びのとおりかどうか見て確かめよう。」 18:22 その人たちは、更にソドムの方へ向かったが、アブラハムはなお、主の御前にいた。 18:23 アブラハムは進み出て言った。「まことにあなたは、正しい者を悪い者と一緒に滅ぼされるのですか。 18:24 あの町に正しい者が五十人いるとしても、それでも滅ぼし、その五十人の正しい者のために、町をお赦しにはならないのですか。 18:25 正しい者を悪い者と一緒に殺し、正しい者を悪い者と同じ目に遭わせるようなことを、あなたがなさるはずはございません。全くありえないことです。全世界を裁くお方は、正義を行われるべきではありませんか。」 18:26 主は言われた。「もしソドムの町に正しい者が五十人いるならば、その者たちのために、町全部を赦そう。」 18:27 アブラハムは答えた。「塵あくたにすぎないわたしですが、あえて、わが主に申し上げます。 18:28 もしかすると、五十人の正しい者に五人足りないかもしれません。それでもあなたは、五人足りないために、町のすべてを滅ぼされますか。」主は言われた。「もし、四十五人いれば滅ぼさない。」 18:29 アブラハムは重ねて言った。「もしかすると、四十人しかいないかもしれません。」主は言われた。「その四十人のためにわたしはそれをしない。」 18:30 アブラハムは言った。「主よ、どうかお怒りにならずに、もう少し言わせてください。もしかすると、そこには三十人しかいないかもしれません。」主は言われた。「もし三十人いるならわたしはそれをしない。」 18:31 アブラハムは言った。「あえて、わが主に申し上げます。もしかすると、二十人しかいないかもしれません。」主は言われた。「その二十人のためにわたしは滅ぼさない。」 18:32 アブラハムは言った。「主よ、どうかお怒りにならずに、もう一度だけ言わせてください。もしかすると、十人しかいないかもしれません。」主は言われた。「その十人のためにわたしは滅ぼさない。」 18:33 主はアブラハムと語り終えると、去って行かれた。アブラハムも自分の住まいに帰った。
18:1 Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. 18:2 So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, 18:3 and said, "My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant. 18:4 "Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. 18:5 "And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant." They said, "Do as you have said." 18:6 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, "Quickly, make ready three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes." 18:7 And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it. 18:8 So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree as they ate. 18:9 Then they said to him, "Where is Sarah your wife?" So he said, "Here, in the tent." 18:10 And He said, "I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son." (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.) 18:11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. 18:12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, "After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?" 18:13 And the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, 'Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?' 18:14 "Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son." 18:15 But Sarah denied it, saying, "I did not laugh," for she was afraid. And He said, "No, but you did laugh!" 18:16 Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. 18:17 And the Lord said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, 18:18 "since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 18:19 "For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him." 18:20 And the Lord said, "Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, 18:21 "I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know." 18:22 Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the Lord. 18:23 And Abraham came near and said, "Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 18:24 "Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it? 18:25 "Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" 18:26 So the Lord said, "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes." 18:27 Then Abraham answered and said, "Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: 18:28 "Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?" So He said, "If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it." 18:29 And he spoke to Him yet again and said, "Suppose there should be forty found there?" So He said, "I will not do it for the sake of forty." 18:30 Then he said, "Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there?" So He said, "I will not do it if I find thirty there." 18:31 And he said, "Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose twenty should be found there?" So He said, "I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty." 18:32 Then he said, "Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?" And He said, "I will not destroy it for the sake of ten." 18:33 So the Lord went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.
16:1 【ミクタム。ダビデの詩。】神よ、守ってください／あなたを避けどころとするわたしを。 16:2 主に申します。「あなたはわたしの主。あなたのほかにわたしの幸いはありません。」 16:3 この地の聖なる人々／わたしの愛する尊い人々に申します。 16:4 「ほかの神の後を追う者には苦しみが加わる。わたしは血を注ぐ彼らの祭りを行わず／彼らの神の名を唇に上らせません。」 16:5 主はわたしに与えられた分、わたしの杯。主はわたしの運命を支える方。 16:6 測り縄は麗しい地を示し／わたしは輝かしい嗣業を受けました。 16:7 わたしは主をたたえます。主はわたしの思いを励まし／わたしの心を夜ごと諭してくださいます。 16:8 わたしは絶えず主に相対しています。主は右にいまし／わたしは揺らぐことがありません。 16:9 わたしの心は喜び、魂は躍ります。からだは安心して憩います。 16:10 あなたはわたしの魂を陰府に渡すことなく／あなたの慈しみに生きる者に墓穴を見させず 16:11 命の道を教えてくださいます。わたしは御顔を仰いで満ち足り、喜び祝い／右の御手から永遠の喜びをいただきます。
16:1 Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. 16:2 O my soul, you have said to the Lord,"You are my Lord,My goodness is nothing apart from You." 16:3 As for the saints who are on the earth,"They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight." 16:4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god;Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer,Nor take up their names on my lips. 16:5 O Lord,You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;You maintain my lot. 16:6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;Yes, I have a good inheritance. 16:7 I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel;My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me;Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;My flesh also will rest in hope. 16:10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. 16:11 You will show me the path of life;In Your presence is fullness of joy;At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
