1:1 なにゆえ、独りで座っているのか／人に溢れていたこの都が。やもめとなってしまったのか／多くの民の女王であったこの都が。奴隷となってしまったのか／国々の姫君であったこの都が。 1:2 夜もすがら泣き、頬に涙が流れる。彼女を愛した人のだれも、今は慰めを与えない。友は皆、彼女を欺き、ことごとく敵となった。 1:3 貧苦と重い苦役の末にユダは捕囚となって行き／異国の民の中に座り、憩いは得られず／苦難のはざまに追い詰められてしまった。 1:4 シオンに上る道は嘆く／祭りに集う人がもはやいないのを。シオンの城門はすべて荒廃し、祭司らは呻く。シオンの苦しみを、おとめらは悲しむ。 1:5 シオンの背きは甚だしかった。主は懲らしめようと、敵がはびこることを許し／苦しめる者らを頭とされた。彼女の子らはとりことなり／苦しめる者らの前を、引かれて行った。 1:6 栄光はことごとくおとめシオンを去り／その君侯らは野の鹿となった。青草を求めたが得られず／疲れ果ててなお、追い立てられてゆく。 1:7 エルサレムは心に留める／貧しく放浪の旅に出た日を／いにしえから彼女のものであった／宝物のすべてを。苦しめる者らの手に落ちた彼女の民を／助ける者はない。絶えゆくさまを見て、彼らは笑っている。 1:8 エルサレムは罪に罪を重ね／笑いものになった。恥があばかれたので／重んじてくれた者にも軽んじられる。彼女は呻きつつ身を引く。 1:9 衣の裾には汚れが付いている。彼女は行く末を心に留めなかったのだ。落ちぶれたさまは驚くばかり。慰める者はない。「御覧ください、主よ／わたしの惨めさを、敵の驕りを。」 1:10 宝物のすべてに敵は手を伸ばした。彼女は見た、異国の民が聖所を侵すのを。聖なる集会に連なることを／主に禁じられた者らが。 1:11 彼女の民は皆、パンを求めて呻く。宝物を食べ物に換えて命をつなごうとする。「御覧ください、主よ／わたしのむさぼるさまを見てください。」 1:12 道行く人よ、心して／目を留めよ、よく見よ。これほどの痛みがあったろうか。わたしを責めるこの痛み／主がついに怒ってわたしを懲らす／この痛みほどの。 1:13 主は高い天から火を送り／わたしの骨に火を下し／足もとに網を投げてわたしを引き倒し／荒廃にまかせ、ひねもす病み衰えさせる。 1:14 背いたわたしの罪は御手に束ねられ／軛とされ、わたしを圧する。主の軛を首に負わされ／力尽きてわたしは倒れ／刃向かうこともできない敵の手に／引き渡されてしまった。 1:15 わたしのもとにいる力ある者を／主はすべて退けられた。わたしに対して時を定め／若者らを砕かれた。主は、酒ぶねを踏むかのように／娘ユダのおとめらを踏みにじられた。 1:16 それゆえわたしは泣く。わたしの目よ、わたしの目よ／涙を流すがよい。慰め励ましてくれる者は、遠く去った。敵は勢いを増し／わたしの子らは荒廃に落ちてゆく。 1:17 シオンは手を差し出すが、慰める者はない。主は敵に命じてヤコブを包囲させられた。エルサレムは敵の中で、笑いものになっている。 1:18 主は正しい。わたしが主の口に背いたのだ。聞け、諸国の民よ／見よ、わたしの痛みを。わたしのおとめらも若者らも／捕えられ、引かれて行った。 1:19 わたしは愛した人々に呼びかけたが／皆、わたしを裏切った。わたしの祭司ら長老らは、都で息絶える／命をつなごうと、食べ物を乞いながら。 1:20 御覧ください、主よ、この苦しみを。胸は裂けんばかり、心は乱れています。わたしは背きに背いたのです。外では剣が子らを奪い／内には死が待っています。 1:21 聞いてください、わたしの呻きを。慰めてくれる者はありません。敵は皆、わたしの受けた災いを耳にして／あなたの仕打ちを喜んでいます。彼らにも定めの日を来らせ／わたしのような目に遭わせてください。 1:22 敵の悪事が御前に届きますように。あなたの懲らしめを受けますように。あなたに背いたわたしが／こんなにも懲らしめられたように。わたしはこうして呻き続け／心は病に侵されています。
1:1 How lonely sits the cityThat was full of people!How like a widow is she,Who was great among the nations!The princess among the provincesHas become a slave! 1:2 She weeps bitterly in the night,Her tears are on her cheeks;Among all her loversShe has none to comfort her.All her friends have dealt treacherously with her;They have become her enemies. 1:3 Judah has gone into captivity,Under affliction and hard servitude;She dwells among the nations,She finds no rest;All her persecutors overtake her in dire straits. 1:4 The roads to Zion mournBecause no one comes to the set feasts.All her gates are desolate;Her priests sigh,Her virgins are afflicted,And she is in bitterness. 1:5 Her adversaries have become the master,Her enemies prosper;For the Lord has afflicted herBecause of the multitude of her transgressions.Her children have gone into captivity before the enemy. 1:6 And from the daughter of ZionAll her splendor has departed.Her princes have become like deerThat find no pasture,That flee without strengthBefore the pursuer. 1:7 In the days of her affliction and roaming,Jerusalem remembers all her pleasant thingsThat she had in the days of old.When her people fell into the hand of the enemy,With no one to help her,The adversaries saw herAnd mocked at her downfall. 1:8 Jerusalem has sinned gravely,Therefore she has become vile.All who honored her despise herBecause they have seen her nakedness;Yes, she sighs and turns away. 1:9 Her uncleanness is in her skirts;She did not consider her destiny;Therefore her collapse was awesome;She had no comforter."O Lord, behold my affliction,For the enemy is exalted!" 1:10 The adversary has spread his handOver all her pleasant things;For she has seen the nations enter her sanctuary,Those whom You commandedNot to enter Your assembly. 1:11 All her people sigh,They seek bread;They have given their valuables for food to restore life."See, O Lord, and consider,For I am scorned." 1:12 "Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?Behold and seeIf there is any sorrow like my sorrow,Which has been brought on me,Which the Lord has inflictedIn the day of His fierce anger. 1:13 "From above He has sent fire into my bones,And it overpowered them;He has spread a net for my feetAnd turned me back;He has made me desolateAnd faint all the day. 1:14 "The yoke of my transgressions was bound;They were woven together by His hands,And thrust upon my neck.He made my strength fail;The Lord delivered me into the hands of those whom I am not able to withstand. 1:15 "The Lord has trampled underfoot all my mighty men in my midst;He has called an assembly against meTo crush my young men;The Lord trampled as in a winepressThe virgin daughter of Judah. 1:16 "For these things I weep;My eye, my eye overflows with water;Because the comforter, who should restore my life,Is far from me.My children are desolateBecause the enemy prevailed." 1:17 Zion spreads out her hands,But no one comforts her;The Lord has commanded concerning JacobThat those around him become his adversaries;Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them. 1:18 "The Lord is righteous,For I rebelled against His commandment.Hear now, all peoples,And behold my sorrow;My virgins and my young menHave gone into captivity. 1:19 "I called for my lovers,But they deceived me;My priests and my eldersBreathed their last in the city,While they sought foodTo restore their life. 1:20 "See, O Lord, that I am in distress;My soul is troubled;My heart is overturned within me,For I have been very rebellious.Outside the sword bereaves,At home it is like death. 1:21 "They have heard that I sigh,But no one comforts me.All my enemies have heard of my trouble;They are glad that You have done it.Bring on the day You have announced,That they may become like me. 1:22 "Let all their wickedness come before You,And do to them as You have done to meFor all my transgressions;For my sighs are many,And my heart is faint."
3:1 人々に、次のことを思い起こさせなさい。支配者や権威者に服し、これに従い、すべての善い業を行う用意がなければならないこと、 3:2 また、だれをもそしらず、争いを好まず、寛容で、すべての人に心から優しく接しなければならないことを。 3:3 わたしたち自身もかつては、無分別で、不従順で、道に迷い、種々の情欲と快楽のとりことなり、悪意とねたみを抱いて暮らし、忌み嫌われ、憎み合っていたのです。 3:4 しかし、わたしたちの救い主である神の慈しみと、人間に対する愛とが現れたときに、 3:5 神は、わたしたちが行った義の業によってではなく、御自分の憐れみによって、わたしたちを救ってくださいました。この救いは、聖霊によって新しく生まれさせ、新たに造りかえる洗いを通して実現したのです。 3:6 神は、わたしたちの救い主イエス・キリストを通して、この聖霊をわたしたちに豊かに注いでくださいました。 3:7 こうしてわたしたちは、キリストの恵みによって義とされ、希望どおり永遠の命を受け継ぐ者とされたのです。 3:8 この言葉は真実です。あなたがこれらのことを力強く主張するように、わたしは望みます。
3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, 3:2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. 3:3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 3:4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 3:6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 3:7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works.
