5:1 エルサレムの通りを巡り／よく見て、悟るがよい。広場で尋ねてみよ、ひとりでもいるか／正義を行い、真実を求める者が。いれば、わたしはエルサレムを赦そう。 5:2 「主は生きておられる」と言って誓うからこそ／彼らの誓いは偽りの誓いとなるのだ。 5:3 主よ、御目は／真実を求めておられるではありませんか。彼らを打たれても、彼らは痛みを覚えず／彼らを打ちのめされても／彼らは懲らしめを受け入れず／その顔を岩よりも固くして／立ち帰ることを拒みました。 5:4 わたしは思った。「これは身分の低い人々で、彼らは無知なのだ。主の道、神の掟を知らない。 5:5 身分の高い人々を訪れて語り合ってみよう。彼らなら／主の道、神の掟を知っているはずだ」と。だが、彼らも同様に軛を折り／綱を断ち切っていた。 5:6 それゆえ、森の獅子が彼らを襲い／荒れ地の狼が彼らを荒らし尽くす。豹が町々をねらい／出て来る者を皆、餌食とする。彼らは背きを重ね／その背信が甚だしいからだ。 5:7 どうして、このようなお前を赦せようか。お前の子らは、わたしを捨て／神でもないものによって誓う。わたしは彼らに十分な食べ物を与えた。すると、彼らは姦淫を犯し／遊女の家に群がって行った。 5:8 彼らは、情欲に燃える太った馬のように／隣人の妻を慕っていななく。 5:9 これらのことを／わたしが罰せずにいられようかと／主は言われる。このような民に対し、わたしは必ずその悪に報いる。 5:10 ぶどう畑に上って、これを滅ぼせ。しかし、滅ぼし尽くしてはならない。つるを取り払え。それは、主のものではない。 5:11 イスラエルとユダの家は／繰り返しわたしを欺いた、と主は言われる。 5:12 彼らは主を拒んで言う。「主は何もなさらない。我々に災いが臨むはずがない。剣も飢饉も起こりはしない。 5:13 預言者の言葉はむなしくなる。『このようなことが起こる』と言っても／実現はしない。」 5:14 それゆえ、万軍の主なる神はこう言われる。「彼らがこのような言葉を口にするからには／見よ、わたしはわたしの言葉を／あなたの口に授ける。それは火となり／この民を薪とし、それを焼き尽くす。」 5:15 「見よ、わたしは遠くから一つの国を／お前たちの上に襲いかからせる。イスラエルの家よ、と主は言われる。それは絶えることのない国、古くからの国／その言葉は理解し難く／その言うことは聞き取れない。 5:16 その矢筒は、口を開いた墓／彼らは皆、勇士だ。 5:17 お前たちの収穫も食糧も食い尽くす。更に、息子、娘を食い尽くし／羊や牛を食い尽くし／ぶどうやいちじくを食い尽くす。お前が頼みとする砦の町々を／剣を振るって破壊する。」 5:18 「そのときですら」と主は言われる。「わたしはお前たちを滅ぼし尽くしはしない。」 5:19 「何故、我々の主なる神はこのようなことを我々にされたのか」と言うなら、あなたはこう答えよ。「あなたたちはわたしを捨て、自分の国で異教の神々に仕えた。そのように、自分のものではない国で他国民に仕えねばならない。」 5:20 これをヤコブの家に告げ、ユダに知らせよ。 5:21 「愚かで、心ない民よ、これを聞け。目があっても、見えず／耳があっても、聞こえない民。 5:22 わたしを畏れ敬いもせず／わたしの前におののきもしないのかと／主は言われる。わたしは砂浜を海の境とした。これは永遠の定め／それを越えることはできない。波が荒れ狂っても、それを侵しえず／とどろいても、それを越えることはできない。 5:23 しかし、この民の心はかたくなで、わたしに背く。彼らは背き続ける。 5:24 彼らは、心に思うこともしない。『我々の主なる神を畏れ敬おう／雨を与える方、時に応じて／秋の雨、春の雨を与え／刈り入れのために／定められた週の祭りを守られる方を』と。 5:25 お前たちの罪がこれらを退け／お前たちの咎が恵みの雨をとどめたのだ。」 5:26 「わが民の中には逆らう者がいる。網を張り／鳥を捕る者のように、潜んでうかがい／罠を仕掛け、人を捕らえる。 5:27 籠を鳥で満たすように／彼らは欺き取った物で家を満たす。こうして、彼らは強大になり富を蓄える。 5:28 彼らは太って、色つやもよく／その悪事には限りがない。みなしごの訴えを取り上げず、助けもせず／貧しい者を正しく裁くこともしない。 5:29 これらのことを、わたしが罰せずに／いられようか、と主は言われる。このような民に対し、わたしは必ずその悪に報いる。 5:30 恐ろしいこと、おぞましいことが／この国に起こっている。 5:31 預言者は偽りの預言をし／祭司はその手に富をかき集め／わたしの民はそれを喜んでいる。その果てに、お前たちはどうするつもりか。」
5:1 "Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem;See now and know;And seek in her open placesIf you can find a man,If there is anyone who executes judgment,Who seeks the truth,And I will pardon her. 5:2 Though they say, 'As the Lord lives,'Surely they swear falsely." 5:3 O Lord, are not Your eyes on the truth?You have stricken them,But they have not grieved;You have consumed them,But they have refused to receive correction.They have made their faces harder than rock;They have refused to return. 5:4 Therefore I said, "Surely these are poor.They are foolish;For they do not know the way of the Lord,The judgment of their God. 5:5 I will go to the great men and speak to them,For they have known the way of the Lord,The judgment of their God."But these have altogether broken the yokeAnd burst the bonds. 5:6 Therefore a lion from the forest shall slay them,A wolf of the deserts shall destroy them;A leopard will watch over their cities.Everyone who goes out from there shall be torn in pieces,Because their transgressions are many;Their backslidings have increased. 5:7 "How shall I pardon you for this?Your children have forsaken MeAnd sworn by those that are not gods.When I had fed them to the full,Then they committed adulteryAnd assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses. 5:8 They were like well-fed lusty stallions;Every one neighed after his neighbor's wife. 5:9 Shall I not punish them for these things?" says the Lord."And shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this? 5:10 "Go up on her walls and destroy,But do not make a complete end.Take away her branches,For they are not the Lord's. 5:11 For the house of Israel and the house of JudahHave dealt very treacherously with Me," says the Lord. 5:12 They have lied about the Lord,And said, "It is not He.Neither will evil come upon us,Nor shall we see sword or famine. 5:13 And the prophets become wind,For the word is not in them.Thus shall it be done to them." 5:14 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts:"Because you speak this word,Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire,And this people wood,And it shall devour them. 5:15 Behold, I will bring a nation against you from afar,O house of Israel," says the Lord."It is a mighty nation,It is an ancient nation,A nation whose language you do not know,Nor can you understand what they say. 5:16 Their quiver is like an open tomb;They are all mighty men. 5:17 And they shall eat up your harvest and your bread,Which your sons and daughters should eat.They shall eat up your flocks and your herds;They shall eat up your vines and your fig trees;They shall destroy your fortified cities,In which you trust, with the sword. 5:18 "Nevertheless in those days," says the Lord, "I will not make a complete end of you. 5:19 "And it will be when you say, 'Why does the Lord our God do all these things to us?' then you shall answer them, 'Just as you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve aliens in a land that is not yours.' 5:20 "Declare this in the house of JacobAnd proclaim it in Judah, saying, 5:21 'Hear this now, O foolish people,Without understanding,Who have eyes and see not,And who have ears and hear not: 5:22 Do you not fear Me?' says the Lord.'Will you not tremble at My presence,Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea,By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?And though its waves toss to and fro,Yet they cannot prevail;Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it. 5:23 But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart;They have revolted and departed. 5:24 They do not say in their heart,"Let us now fear the Lord our God,Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season.He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest." 5:25 Your iniquities have turned these things away,And your sins have withheld good from you. 5:26 'For among My people are found wicked men;They lie in wait as one who sets snares;They set a trap;They catch men. 5:27 As a cage is full of birds,So their houses are full of deceit.Therefore they have become great and grown rich. 5:28 They have grown fat, they are sleek;Yes, they surpass the deeds of the wicked;They do not plead the cause,The cause of the fatherless;Yet they prosper,And the right of the needy they do not defend. 5:29 Shall I not punish them for these things?' says the Lord.'Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?' 5:30 "An astonishing and horrible thingHas been committed in the land: 5:31 The prophets prophesy falsely,And the priests rule by their own power;And My people love to have it so.But what will you do in the end?
2:1 わたしが、あなたがたとラオディキアにいる人々のために、また、わたしとまだ直接顔を合わせたことのないすべての人のために、どれほど労苦して闘っているか、分かってほしい。 2:2 それは、この人々が心を励まされ、愛によって結び合わされ、理解力を豊かに与えられ、神の秘められた計画であるキリストを悟るようになるためです。 2:3 知恵と知識の宝はすべて、キリストの内に隠れています。 2:4 わたしがこう言うのは、あなたがたが巧みな議論にだまされないようにするためです。 2:5 わたしは体では離れていても、霊ではあなたがたと共にいて、あなたがたの正しい秩序と、キリストに対する固い信仰とを見て喜んでいます。
2:6 あなたがたは、主キリスト・イエスを受け入れたのですから、キリストに結ばれて歩みなさい。 2:7 キリストに根を下ろして造り上げられ、教えられたとおりの信仰をしっかり守って、あふれるばかりに感謝しなさい。
2:1 For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 2:3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 2:4 Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 2:5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. 2:6 As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 2:7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
