[ 35 ]

35:1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 35:2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice,Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord,The excellency of our God. 35:3 Strengthen the weak hands,And make firm the feeble knees. 35:4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,"Be strong, do not fear!Behold, your God will come with vengeance,With the recompense of God;He will come and save you." 35:5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 35:6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer,And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,And streams in the desert. 35:7 The parched ground shall become a pool,And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay,There shall be grass with reeds and rushes. 35:8 A highway shall be there, and a road,And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it,But it shall be for others.Whoever walks the road, although a fool,Shall not go astray. 35:9 No lion shall be there,Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it;It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there, 35:10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return,And come to Zion with singing,With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness,And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

[ 2 ]

2:1 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me. 2:2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain. 2:3 Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. 2:4 And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage), 2:5 to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. 2:6 But from those who seemed to be something-whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man-for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me. 2:7 But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter 2:8 (for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles), 2:9 and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 2:10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.
