59:1 主の手が短くて救えないのではない。主の耳が鈍くて聞こえないのでもない。 59:2 むしろお前たちの悪が／神とお前たちとの間を隔て／お前たちの罪が神の御顔を隠させ／お前たちに耳を傾けられるのを妨げているのだ。 59:3 お前たちの手は血で、指は悪によって汚れ／唇は偽りを語り、舌は悪事をつぶやく。 59:4 正しい訴えをする者はなく／真実をもって弁護する者もない。むなしいことを頼みとし、偽って語り／労苦をはらみ、災いを産む。 59:5 彼らは蝮の卵をかえし、くもの糸を織る。その卵を食べる者は死に／卵をつぶせば、毒蛇が飛び出す。 59:6 くもの糸は着物にならず／その織物で身を覆うことはできない。彼らの織物は災いの織物／その手には不法の業がある。 59:7 彼らの足は悪に走り／罪のない者の血を流そうと急ぐ。彼らの計画は災いの計画。破壊と崩壊がその道にある。 59:8 彼らは平和の道を知らず／その歩む道には裁きがない。彼らは自分の道を曲げ／その道を歩む者はだれも平和を知らない。 59:9 それゆえ、正義はわたしたちを遠く離れ／恵みの業はわたしたちに追いつかない。わたしたちは光を望んだが、見よ、闇に閉ざされ／輝きを望んだが、暗黒の中を歩いている。 59:10 盲人のように壁を手探りし／目をもたない人のように手探りする。真昼にも夕暮れ時のようにつまずき／死人のように暗闇に包まれる。 59:11 わたしたちは皆、熊のようにうなり／鳩のような声を立てる。正義を望んだが、それはなかった。救いを望んだが、わたしたちを遠く去った。 59:12 御前に、わたしたちの背きの罪は重く／わたしたち自身の罪が不利な証言をする。背きの罪はわたしたちと共にあり／わたしたちは自分の咎を知っている。 59:13 主に対して偽り背き／わたしたちの神から離れ去り／虐げと裏切りを謀り／偽りの言葉を心に抱き、また、つぶやく。 59:14 こうして、正義は退き、恵みの業は遠くに立つ。まことは広場でよろめき／正しいことは通ることもできない。 59:15 まことは失われ、悪を避ける者も奪い去られる。主は正義の行われていないことを見られた。それは主の御目に悪と映った。 59:16 主は人ひとりいないのを見／執り成す人がいないのを驚かれた。主の救いは主の御腕により／主を支えるのは主の恵みの御業。 59:17 主は恵みの御業を鎧としてまとい／救いを兜としてかぶり、報復を衣としてまとい／熱情を上着として身を包まれた。 59:18 主は人の業に従って報い／刃向かう者の仇に憤りを表し／敵に報い、島々に報いを返される。 59:19 西では主の御名を畏れ／東では主の栄光を畏れる。主は激しい流れのように臨み／主の霊がその上を吹く。 59:20 主は贖う者として、シオンに来られる。ヤコブのうちの罪を悔いる者のもとに来ると／主は言われる。 59:21 これは、わたしが彼らと結ぶ契約であると／主は言われる。あなたの上にあるわたしの霊／あなたの口においたわたしの言葉は／あなたの口からも、あなたの子孫の口からも／あなたの子孫の子孫の口からも／今も、そしてとこしえに／離れることはない、と主は言われる。
59:1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened,That it cannot save;Nor His ear heavy,That it cannot hear. 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God;And your sins have hidden His face from you,So that He will not hear. 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood,And your fingers with iniquity;Your lips have spoken lies,Your tongue has muttered perversity. 59:4 No one calls for justice,Nor does any plead for truth.They trust in empty words and speak lies;They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. 59:5 They hatch vipers' eggs and weave the spider's web;He who eats of their eggs dies,And from that which is crushed a viper breaks out. 59:6 Their webs will not become garments,Nor will they cover themselves with their works;Their works are works of iniquity,And the act of violence is in their hands. 59:7 Their feet run to evil,And they make haste to shed innocent blood;Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity;Wasting and destruction are in their paths. 59:8 The way of peace they have not known,And there is no justice in their ways;They have made themselves crooked paths;Whoever takes that way shall not know peace. 59:9 Therefore justice is far from us,Nor does righteousness overtake us;We look for light, but there is darkness!For brightness, but we walk in blackness! 59:10 We grope for the wall like the blind,And we grope as if we had no eyes;We stumble at noonday as at twilight;We are as dead men in desolate places. 59:11 We all growl like bears,And moan sadly like doves;We look for justice, but there is none;For salvation, but it is far from us. 59:12 For our transgressions are multiplied before You,And our sins testify against us;For our transgressions are with us,And as for our iniquities, we know them: 59:13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord,And departing from our God,Speaking oppression and revolt,Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. 59:14 Justice is turned back,And righteousness stands afar off;For truth is fallen in the street,And equity cannot enter. 59:15 So truth fails,And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased HimThat there was no justice. 59:16 He saw that there was no man,And wondered that there was no intercessor;Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him;And His own righteousness, it sustained Him. 59:17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate,And a helmet of salvation on His head;He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing,And was clad with zeal as a cloak. 59:18 According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay,Fury to His adversaries,Recompense to His enemies;The coastlands He will fully repay. 59:19 So shall they fearThe name of the Lord from the west,And His glory from the rising of the sun;When the enemy comes in like a flood,The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. 59:20 "The Redeemer will come to Zion,And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,"Says the Lord. 59:21 "As for Me," says the Lord, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants' descendants," says the Lord, "from this time and forevermore."
1:12 兄弟たち、わたしの身に起こったことが、かえって福音の前進に役立ったと知ってほしい。 1:13 つまり、わたしが監禁されているのはキリストのためであると、兵営全体、その他のすべての人々に知れ渡り、 1:14 主に結ばれた兄弟たちの中で多くの者が、わたしの捕らわれているのを見て確信を得、恐れることなくますます勇敢に、御言葉を語るようになったのです。 1:15 キリストを宣べ伝えるのに、ねたみと争いの念にかられてする者もいれば、善意でする者もいます。 1:16 一方は、わたしが福音を弁明するために捕らわれているのを知って、愛の動機からそうするのですが、 1:17 他方は、自分の利益を求めて、獄中のわたしをいっそう苦しめようという不純な動機からキリストを告げ知らせているのです。
1:12 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, 1:13 so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; 1:14 and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from good will: 1:16 The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 1:17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.
