8:1 主はわたしに言われた。「大きな羊皮紙を取り、その上に分かりやすい書き方で、マヘル・シャラル・ハシュ・バズ（分捕りは早く、略奪は速やかに来る）と書きなさい」と。 8:2 そのためにわたしは、祭司ウリヤとエベレクヤの子ゼカルヤを、信頼しうる証人として立てた。 8:3 わたしは女預言者に近づいた。彼女が身ごもって男の子を産むと、主はわたしに言われた。「この子にマヘル・シャラル・ハシュ・バズという名を付けなさい。 8:4 この子がお父さん、お母さんと言えるようになる前に、ダマスコからはその富が、サマリアからはその戦利品が、アッシリアの王の前に運び去られる。」
8:5 主は重ねてわたしに語られた。 8:6 「この民はゆるやかに流れるシロアの水を拒み／レツィンとレマルヤの子のゆえにくずおれる。 8:7 それゆえ、見よ、主は大河の激流を／彼らの上に襲いかからせようとしておられる。すなわち、アッシリアの王とそのすべての栄光を。激流はどの川床も満たし／至るところで堤防を越え 8:8 ユダにみなぎり、首に達し、溢れ、押し流す。その広げた翼は／インマヌエルよ、あなたの国土を覆い尽くす。」 8:9 諸国の民よ、連合せよ、だがおののけ。遠い国々よ、共に耳を傾けよ。武装せよ、だが、おののけ。武装せよ、だが、おののけ。 8:10 戦略を練るがよい、だが、挫折する。決定するがよい、だが、実現することはない。神が我らと共におられる（インマヌエル）のだから。 8:11 主は御手をもってわたしをとらえ、この民の行く道を行かないように戒めて言われた。 8:12 あなたたちはこの民が同盟と呼ぶものを／何一つ同盟と呼んではならない。彼らが恐れるものを、恐れてはならない。その前におののいてはならない。 8:13 万軍の主をのみ、聖なる方とせよ。あなたたちが畏るべき方は主。御前におののくべき方は主。 8:14 主は聖所にとっては、つまずきの石／イスラエルの両王国にとっては、妨げの岩／エルサレムの住民にとっては／仕掛け網となり、罠となられる。 8:15 多くの者がこれに妨げられ、倒れて打ち砕かれ／罠にかかって捕らえられる。
8:16 わたしは弟子たちと共に／証しの書を守り、教えを封じておこう。 8:17 わたしは主を待ち望む。主は御顔をヤコブの家に隠しておられるが／なおわたしは、彼に望みをかける。 8:18 見よ、わたしと、主がわたしにゆだねられた子らは、シオンの山に住まわれる万軍の主が与えられたイスラエルのしるしと奇跡である。 8:19 人々は必ずあなたたちに言う。「ささやきつぶやく口寄せや、霊媒に伺いを立てよ。民は、命ある者のために、死者によって、自分の神に伺いを立てるべきではないか」と。 8:20 そして、教えと証しの書についてはなおのこと、「このような言葉にまじないの力はない」と言うであろう。 8:21 この地で、彼らは苦しみ、飢えてさまよう。民は飢えて憤り、顔を天に向けて王と神を呪う。 8:22 地を見渡せば、見よ、苦難と闇、暗黒と苦悩、暗闇と追放。 8:23 今、苦悩の中にある人々には逃れるすべがない。

Then the Lord said to me, "Call his name Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz; 8:4 "for before the child shall have knowledge to cry 'My father' and 'My mother,' the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be taken away before the king of Assyria." 8:5 The Lord also spoke to me again, saying: 8:6 "Inasmuch as these people refusedThe waters of Shiloah that flow softly,And rejoice in Rezin and in Remaliah's son; 8:7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up over themThe waters of the River, strong and mighty-The king of Assyria and all his glory;He will go up over all his channelsAnd go over all his banks. 8:8 He will pass through Judah,He will overflow and pass over,He will reach up to the neck;And the stretching out of his wingsWill fill the breadth of Your land, O Immanuel. 8:9 "Be shattered, O you peoples, and be broken in pieces!Give ear, all you from far countries.Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces;Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces. 8:10 Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing;Speak the word, but it will not stand,For God is with us." 8:11 For the Lord spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying: 8:12 "Do not say, 'A conspiracy,'Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy,Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. 8:13 The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow;Let Him be your fear,And let Him be your dread. 8:14 He will be as a sanctuary,But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offenseTo both the houses of Israel,As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 8:15 And many among them shall stumble;They shall fall and be broken,Be snared and taken." 8:16 Bind up the testimony,Seal the law among my disciples. 8:17 And I will wait on the Lord,Who hides His face from the house of Jacob;And I will hope in Him. 8:18 Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me!We are for signs and wonders in IsraelFrom the Lord of hosts,Who dwells in Mount Zion. 8:19 And when they say to you, "Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter," should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? 8:20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. 8:21 They will pass through it hard pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward. 8:22 Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they will be driven into darkness.
1:23 神を証人に立てて、命にかけて誓いますが、わたしがまだコリントに行かずにいるのは、あなたがたへの思いやりからです。 1:24 わたしたちは、あなたがたの信仰を支配するつもりはなく、むしろ、あなたがたの喜びのために協力する者です。あなたがたは信仰に基づいてしっかり立っているからです。
2:1 そこでわたしは、そちらに行くことで再びあなたがたを悲しませるようなことはすまい、と決心しました。 2:2 もしあなたがたを悲しませるとすれば、わたしが悲しませる人以外のいったいだれが、わたしを喜ばせてくれるでしょう。 2:3 あのようなことを書いたのは、そちらに行って、喜ばせてもらえるはずの人たちから悲しい思いをさせられたくなかったからです。わたしの喜びはあなたがたすべての喜びでもあると、あなたがた一同について確信しているからです。 2:4 わたしは、悩みと愁いに満ちた心で、涙ながらに手紙を書きました。あなたがたを悲しませるためではなく、わたしがあなたがたに対してあふれるほど抱いている愛を知ってもらうためでした。
1:23 Moreover I call God as witness against my soul, that to spare you I came no more to Corinth. 1:24 Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.
2:1 But I determined this within myself, that I would not come again to you in sorrow. 2:2 For if I make you sorrowful, then who is he who makes me glad but the one who is made sorrowful by me? 2:3 And I wrote this very thing to you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow over those from whom I ought to have joy, having confidence in you all that my joy is the joy of you all. 2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you, with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have so abundantly for you.
