24:1 悪者のことに心を燃やすな／彼らと共にいることを望むな。 24:2 悪者が心に思いめぐらすのは暴力。唇が語るのは労苦を引き起こすこと。 24:3 家は知恵によって築かれ、英知によって固く立つ。 24:4 知識は部屋を満たし、貴く喜ばしい財産となる。 24:5 知恵ある男は勇敢にふるまい／知識ある男は力を発揮する。 24:6 戦争には指揮する力が必要であり／勝利を得るためには作戦を練るべきだ。 24:7 無知な者に知恵は高尚すぎる。城門で口を開くべきではない。 24:8 悪意ある考えを持つ者は陰謀家と呼ばれる。 24:9 無知の謀は過ちとされる。不遜な態度は人に憎まれる。 24:10 苦難の襲うとき気力を失い、力を出し惜しみ 24:11 死に捕えられた人を救い出さず／殺されそうになっている人を助けず 24:12 「できなかったのだ」などと言っても／心を調べる方は見抜いておられる。魂を見守る方はご存じだ。人の行いに応じて報いを返される。 24:13 わが子よ、蜜を食べてみよ、それは美味だ。滴る蜜は口に甘い。 24:14 そのように、魂にとって知恵は美味だと知れ。それを見いだすなら、確かに未来はある。あなたの希望が断たれることはない。 24:15 神に逆らう者よ、神に従う人の住みかを狙うな。その憩いの場で暴力を振るうな。 24:16 神に従う人は七度倒れても起き上がる。神に逆らう者は災難に遭えばつまずく。 24:17 敵が倒れても喜んではならない。彼がつまずいても心を躍らせるな。 24:18 主がそういうあなたを見て不快とされるなら／彼への怒りを翻されるであろう。 24:19 悪事を働く者に怒りを覚えたり／主に逆らう者のことに心を燃やすことはない。 24:20 悪者には未来はない。主に逆らう者の灯は消える。 24:21 わが子よ、主を、そして王を、畏れよ。変化を求める者らと関係を持つな。 24:22 突然、彼らの不幸は始まる。この両者が下す災難を誰が知りえよう。

24:1 Do not be envious of evil men,Nor desire to be with them; 24:2 For their heart devises violence,And their lips talk of troublemaking. 24:3 Through wisdom a house is built,And by understanding it is established; 24:4 By knowledge the rooms are filledWith all precious and pleasant riches. 24:5 A wise man is strong,Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; 24:6 For by wise counsel you will wage your own war,And in a multitude of counselors there is safety. 24:7 Wisdom is too lofty for a fool;He does not open his mouth in the gate. 24:8 He who plots to do evilWill be called a schemer. 24:9 The devising of foolishness is sin,And the scoffer is an abomination to men. 24:10 If you faint in the day of adversity,Your strength is small. 24:11 Deliver those who are drawn toward death,And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. 24:12 If you say, "Surely we did not know this,"Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it?He who keeps your soul, does He not know it?And will He not render to each man according to his deeds? 24:13 My son, eat honey because it is good,And the honeycomb which is sweet to your taste; 24:14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul;If you have found it, there is a prospect,And your hope will not be cut off. 24:15 Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous;Do not plunder his resting place; 24:16 For a righteous man may fall seven timesAnd rise again,But the wicked shall fall by calamity. 24:17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; 24:18 Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him,And He turn away His wrath from him. 24:19 Do not fret because of evildoers,Nor be envious of the wicked; 24:20 For there will be no prospect for the evil man;The lamp of the wicked will be put out. 24:21 My son, fear the Lord and the king;Do not associate with those given to change; 24:22 For their calamity will rise suddenly,And who knows the ruin those two can bring? 24:23 These things also belong to the wise:It is not good to show partiality in judgment. 24:24 He who says to the wicked, "You are righteous,"Him the people will curse;Nations will abhor him. 24:25 But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight,And a good blessing will come upon them. 24:26 He who gives a right answer kisses the lips. 24:27 Prepare your outside work,Make it fit for yourself in the field;And afterward build your house. 24:28 Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause,For would you deceive with your lips? 24:29 Do not say, "I will do to him just as he has done to me;I will render to the man according to his work." 24:30 I went by the field of the lazy man,And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; 24:31 And there it was, all overgrown with thorns;Its surface was covered with nettles;Its stone wall was broken down. 24:32 When I saw it, I considered it well;I looked on it and received instruction: 24:33 A little sleep, a little slumber,A little folding of the hands to rest; 24:34 So shall your poverty come like a prowler,And your need like an armed man.

16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 16:18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. 16:19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 16:20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.
