5:1 わたしの妹、花嫁よ、わたしの園にわたしは来た。香り草やミルラを摘み／蜜の滴るわたしの蜂の巣を吸い／わたしのぶどう酒と乳を飲もう。友よ食べよ、友よ飲め。愛する者よ、愛に酔え。
5:2 眠っていても／わたしの心は目覚めていました。恋しい人の声がする、戸をたたいています。「わたしの妹、恋人よ、開けておくれ。わたしの鳩、清らかなおとめよ。わたしの頭は露に／髪は夜の露にぬれてしまった。」 5:3 衣を脱いでしまったのに／どうしてまた着られましょう。足を洗ってしまったのに／どうしてまた汚せましょう。 5:4 恋しい人は透き間から手を差し伸べ／わたしの胸は高鳴りました。 5:5 恋しい人に戸を開こうと起き上がりました。わたしの両手はミルラを滴らせ／ミルラの滴は指から取っ手にこぼれ落ちました。 5:6 戸を開いたときには、恋しい人は去った後でした。恋しい人の言葉を追って／わたしの魂は出て行きます。求めても、あの人は見つかりません。呼び求めても、答えてくれません。 5:7 街をめぐる夜警にわたしは見つかり／打たれて傷を負いました。城壁の見張りは、わたしの衣をはぎ取りました。 5:8 エルサレムのおとめたちよ、誓ってください／もしわたしの恋しい人を見かけたら／わたしが恋の病にかかっていることを／その人に伝えると。

9 あなたの恋人はどんなにいいひと／だれにもまして美しいおとめよ。あなたの恋人はどんなにいいひと／こんな誓いをさせるとは。5:10 わたしの恋しい人は／赤銅色に輝き、ひときわ目立つ。 5:11 頭は金、純金で／髪はふさふさと、烏の羽のように黒い。 5:12 目は水のほとりの鳩／乳で身を洗い、形よく座っている。 5:13 頬は香り草の花床、かぐわしく茂っている。唇はゆりの花、ミルラのしずくを滴らせる。 5:14 手はタルシシュの珠玉をはめた金の円筒／胸はサファイアをちりばめた象牙の板 5:15 脚は純金の台に据えられた大理石の柱。姿はレバノンの山、レバノン杉のような若者。 5:16 その口は甘美、なにもかもわたしを魅惑する。エルサレムのおとめたちよ／これがわたしの恋する人、これがわたしの慕う人。

14:1 愛を追い求めなさい。霊的な賜物、特に預言するための賜物を熱心に求めなさい。 14:2 異言を語る者は、人に向かってではなく、神に向かって語っています。それはだれにも分かりません。彼は霊によって神秘を語っているのです。 14:3 しかし、預言する者は、人に向かって語っているので、人を造り上げ、励まし、慰めます。 14:4 異言を語る者が自分を造り上げるのに対して、預言する者は教会を造り上げます。 14:5 あなたがた皆が異言を語れるにこしたことはないと思いますが、それ以上に、預言できればと思います。異言を語る者がそれを解釈するのでなければ、教会を造り上げるためには、預言する者の方がまさっています。 14:6 だから兄弟たち、わたしがあなたがたのところに行って異言を語ったとしても、啓示か知識か預言か教えかによって語らなければ、あなたがたに何の役に立つでしょう。 14:7 笛であれ竪琴であれ、命のない楽器も、もしその音に変化がなければ、何を吹き、何を弾いているのか、どうして分かるでしょう。 14:8 ラッパがはっきりした音を出さなければ、だれが戦いの準備をしますか。 14:9 同じように、あなたがたも異言で語って、明確な言葉を口にしなければ、何を話しているか、どうして分かってもらえましょう。空に向かって語ることになるからです。 14:10 世にはいろいろな種類の言葉があり、どれ一つ意味を持たないものはありません。 14:11 だから、もしその言葉の意味が分からないとなれば、話し手にとってわたしは外国人であり、わたしにとってその話し手も外国人であることになります。 14:12 あなたがたの場合も同じで、霊的な賜物を熱心に求めているのですから、教会を造り上げるために、それをますます豊かに受けるように求めなさい。 14:13 だから、異言を語る者は、それを解釈できるように祈りなさい。 14:14 わたしが異言で祈る場合、それはわたしの霊が祈っているのですが、理性は実を結びません。 14:15 では、どうしたらよいのでしょうか。霊で祈り、理性でも祈ることにしましょう。霊で賛美し、理性でも賛美することにしましょう。 14:16 さもなければ、仮にあなたが霊で賛美の祈りを唱えても、教会に来て間もない人は、どうしてあなたの感謝に「アーメン」と言えるでしょうか。あなたが何を言っているのか、彼には分からないからです。 14:17 あなたが感謝するのは結構ですが、そのことで他の人が造り上げられるわけではありません。 14:18 わたしは、あなたがたのだれよりも多くの異言を語れることを、神に感謝します。 14:19 しかし、わたしは他の人たちをも教えるために、教会では異言で一万の言葉を語るより、理性によって五つの言葉を語る方をとります。
14:1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. 14:3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. 14:4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 14:5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification. 14:6 But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either by revelation, by knowledge, by prophesying, or by teaching? 14:7 Even things without life, whether flute or harp, when they make a sound, unless they make a distinction in the sounds, how will it be known what is piped or played? 14:8 For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for battle? 14:9 So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air. 14:10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without significance. 14:11 Therefore, if I do not know the meaning of the language, I shall be a foreigner to him who speaks, and he who speaks will be a foreigner to me. 14:12 Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel. 14:13 Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 14:15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 14:16 Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say "Amen" at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say? 14:17 For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified. 14:18 I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; 14:19 yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.
