20:1 酒は不遜、強い酒は騒ぎ。酔う者が知恵を得ることはない。 20:2 王の脅威は若獅子のうなり声／彼を怒らせる者は自分を危険にさらす。 20:3 争いにかかわらないのは立派なことだ。無知な者は皆、争いを引き起こす。 20:4 怠け者は冬になっても耕さず／刈り入れ時に求めるが何もない。 20:5 思い計らいは人の心の中の深い水。英知ある人はそれをくみ出す。 20:6 親友と呼ぶ相手は多いが／信用できる相手を誰が見いだせよう。 20:7 主に従う人は完全な道を歩む。彼を継ぐ子らは幸い。 20:8 裁きの座に就いている王は／その目でどのような悪をもふるい分ける。 20:9 わたしの心を潔白にした、と誰が言えようか。罪から清めた、と誰が言えようか。 20:10 おもり石の使い分け、升の使い分け／いずれも主の憎まれること。 20:11 子供も、行いが清く正しいかどうか／行動によって示す。 20:12 聞く耳、見る目、主がこの両方を造られた。 20:13 眠りを愛するな、貧しくならぬために。目を見開いていれば、パンに飽き足りる。 20:14 「悪い、悪い」と買い手は言うが／そこを去ると、自慢する。 20:15 金もあり、珠玉も多い。しかし、貴いものは知識ある唇。 20:16 他国の者を保証する人からは着物を預かれ。他国の女を保証する人からは抵当を取れ。 20:17 欺き取ったパンはうまいが／後になって口は砂利で満たされる。 20:18 計画は助言を得て立てよ／戦争は指揮力を整えて始めよ。 20:19 秘密をばらす者、中傷し歩く者／軽々しく唇を開く者とは、交わるな。 20:20 父母を呪う者／彼の灯は闇のただ中で消える。 20:21 初めに嗣業をむさぼっても／後にはそれは祝福されない。 20:22 悪に報いたい、と言ってはならない。主に望みをおけ、主があなたを救ってくださる。 20:23 おもり石を使い分けることは主にいとわれる。天秤をもって欺くのは正しくない。 20:24 人の一歩一歩を定めるのは主である。人は自らの道について何を理解していようか。 20:25 聖別されたものとしよう、と軽々しく言い／後にその誓いを思い直せば罠となる。 20:26 賢い王は神に逆らう者を選び出し／彼らの上に車輪を引き回す。 20:27 主の灯は人間の吸い込む息。腹の隅々まで探る。 20:28 慈しみとまことは王を守る。王座は慈しみによって保たれる。 20:29 力は若者の栄光。白髪は老人の尊厳。 20:30 打って傷を与えれば悪をたしなめる。腹の隅々にとどくように打て。
20:1 Wine is a mocker,Strong drink is a brawler,And whoever is led astray by it is not wise. 20:2 The wrath of a king is like the roaring of a lion;Whoever provokes him to anger sins against his own life. 20:3 It is honorable for a man to stop striving,Since any fool can start a quarrel. 20:4 The lazy man will not plow because of winter;He will beg during harvest and have nothing. 20:5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water,But a man of understanding will draw it out. 20:6 Most men will proclaim each his own goodness,But who can find a faithful man? 20:7 The righteous man walks in his integrity;His children are blessed after him. 20:8 A king who sits on the throne of judgmentScatters all evil with his eyes. 20:9 Who can say, "I have made my heart clean,I am pure from my sin"? 20:10 Diverse weights and diverse measures,They are both alike, an abomination to the Lord. 20:11 Even a child is known by his deeds,Whether what he does is pure and right. 20:12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye,The Lord has made them both. 20:13 Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty;Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread. 20:14 "It is good for nothing," cries the buyer;But when he has gone his way, then he boasts. 20:15 There is gold and a multitude of rubies,But the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel. 20:16 Take the garment of one who is surety for a stranger,And hold it as a pledge when it is for a seductress. 20:17 Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man,But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel. 20:18 Plans are established by counsel;By wise counsel wage war. 20:19 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets;Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips. 20:20 Whoever curses his father or his mother,His lamp will be put out in deep darkness. 20:21 An inheritance gained hastily at the beginningWill not be blessed at the end. 20:22 Do not say, "I will recompense evil";Wait for the Lord, and He will save you. 20:23 Diverse weights are an abomination to the Lord,And dishonest scales are not good. 20:24 A man's steps are of the Lord;How then can a man understand his own way? 20:25 It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy,And afterward to reconsider his vows. 20:26 A wise king sifts out the wicked,And brings the threshing wheel over them. 20:27 The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord,Searching all the inner depths of his heart. 20:28 Mercy and truth preserve the king,And by lovingkindness he upholds his throne. 20:29 The glory of young men is their strength,And the splendor of old men is their gray head. 20:30 Blows that hurt cleanse away evil,As do stripes the inner depths of the heart.
15:1 わたしたち強い者は、強くない者の弱さを担うべきであり、自分の満足を求めるべきではありません。 15:2 おのおの善を行って隣人を喜ばせ、互いの向上に努めるべきです。 15:3 キリストも御自分の満足はお求めになりませんでした。「あなたをそしる者のそしりが、わたしにふりかかった」と書いてあるとおりです。 15:4 かつて書かれた事柄は、すべてわたしたちを教え導くためのものです。それでわたしたちは、聖書から忍耐と慰めを学んで希望を持ち続けることができるのです。 15:5 忍耐と慰めの源である神が、あなたがたに、キリスト・イエスに倣って互いに同じ思いを抱かせ、 15:6 心を合わせ声をそろえて、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの神であり、父である方をたたえさせてくださいますように。
15:7 だから、神の栄光のためにキリストがあなたがたを受け入れてくださったように、あなたがたも互いに相手を受け入れなさい。 15:8 わたしは言う。キリストは神の真実を現すために、割礼ある者たちに仕える者となられたのです。それは、先祖たちに対する約束を確証されるためであり、 15:9 異邦人が神をその憐れみのゆえにたたえるようになるためです。「そのため、わたしは異邦人の中であなたをたたえ、／あなたの名をほめ歌おう」と書いてあるとおりです。 15:10 また、／「異邦人よ、主の民と共に喜べ」と言われ、 15:11 更に、／「すべての異邦人よ、主をたたえよ。すべての民は主を賛美せよ」と言われています。 15:12 また、イザヤはこう言っています。「エッサイの根から芽が現れ、／異邦人を治めるために立ち上がる。異邦人は彼に望みをかける。」 15:13 希望の源である神が、信仰によって得られるあらゆる喜びと平和とであなたがたを満たし、聖霊の力によって希望に満ちあふれさせてくださるように。
[ 15 ] 15:1 We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 15:2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. 15:3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me." 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 15:5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 15:6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15:7 Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers, 15:9 and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written:"For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles,And sing to Your name." 15:10 And again he says:"Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!" 15:11 And again:"Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles!Laud Him, all you peoples!" 15:12 And again, Isaiah says:"There shall be a root of Jesse;And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles,In Him the Gentiles shall hope." 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
