36:1 Elihu also proceeded and said: 36:2 "Bear with me a little, and I will show youThat there are yet words to speak on God's behalf. 36:3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar;I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker. 36:4 For truly my words are not false;One who is perfect in knowledge is with you. 36:5 "Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one;He is mighty in strength of understanding. 36:6 He does not preserve the life of the wicked,But gives justice to the oppressed. 36:7 He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous;But they are on the throne with kings,For He has seated them forever,And they are exalted. 36:8 And if they are bound in fetters,Held in the cords of affliction, 36:9 Then He tells them their work and their transgressions-That they have acted defiantly. 36:10 He also opens their ear to instruction,And commands that they turn from iniquity. 36:11 If they obey and serve Him,They shall spend their days in prosperity,And their years in pleasures. 36:12 But if they do not obey,They shall perish by the sword,And they shall die without knowledge. 36:13 "But the hypocrites in heart store up wrath;They do not cry for help when He binds them. 36:14 They die in youth,And their life ends among the perverted persons. 36:15 He delivers the poor in their affliction,And opens their ears in oppression. 36:16 "Indeed He would have brought you out of dire distress,Into a broad place where there is no restraint;And what is set on your table would be full of richness. 36:17 But you are filled with the judgment due the wicked;Judgment and justice take hold of you. 36:18 Because there is wrath, beware lest He take you away with one blow;For a large ransom would not help you avoid it. 36:19 Will your riches,Or all the mighty forces,Keep you from distress? 36:20 Do not desire the night,When people are cut off in their place. 36:21 Take heed, do not turn to iniquity,For you have chosen this rather than affliction. 36:22 "Behold, God is exalted by His power;Who teaches like Him? 36:23 Who has assigned Him His way,Or who has said, 'You have done wrong'? 36:24 "Remember to magnify His work,Of which men have sung. 36:25 Everyone has seen it;Man looks on it from afar. 36:26 "Behold, God is great, and we do not know Him;Nor can the number of His years be discovered. 36:27 For He draws up drops of water,Which distill as rain from the mist, 36:28 Which the clouds drop downAnd pour abundantly on man. 36:29 Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds,The thunder from His canopy? 36:30 Look, He scatters his light upon it,And covers the depths of the sea. 36:31 For by these He judges the peoples;He gives food in abundance. 36:32 He covers His hands with lightning,And commands it to strike. 36:33 His thunder declares it,The cattle also, concerning the rising storm.
2:12 律法を知らないで罪を犯した者は皆、この律法と関係なく滅び、また、律法の下にあって罪を犯した者は皆、律法によって裁かれます。 2:13 律法を聞く者が神の前で正しいのではなく、これを実行する者が、義とされるからです。 2:14 たとえ律法を持たない異邦人も、律法の命じるところを自然に行えば、律法を持たなくとも、自分自身が律法なのです。 2:15 こういう人々は、律法の要求する事柄がその心に記されていることを示しています。彼らの良心もこれを証ししており、また心の思いも、互いに責めたり弁明し合って、同じことを示しています。 2:16 そのことは、神が、わたしの福音の告げるとおり、人々の隠れた事柄をキリスト・イエスを通して裁かれる日に、明らかになるでしょう。

You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? 2:22 You who say, "Do not commit adultery," do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 2:23 You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? 2:24 For "the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you," as it is written. 2:25 For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. 2:26 Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? 2:27 And will not the physically uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who, even with your written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law? 2:28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; 2:29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.
