34:1 エリフは更に言った。 34:2 知恵ある者はわたしの言葉を聞き／知識ある者はわたしに耳を傾けよ。 34:3 耳は言葉を聞き分け／口は食べ物を味わう。 34:4 わたしたちは何が正しいかを見分け／何が善いかを識別しよう。 34:5 ヨブはこう言っている。「わたしは正しい。だが神は、この主張を退けられる。 34:6 わたしは正しいのに、うそつきとされ／罪もないのに、矢を射かけられて傷ついた。」 34:7 ヨブのような男がいるだろうか。水に代えて嘲りで喉をうるおし 34:8 悪を行う者にくみし／神に逆らう者と共に歩む。 34:9 「神に喜ばれようとしても／何の益もない」と彼は言っている。 34:10 さて、分別ある者は、わたしの言葉を聞け。神には過ちなど、決してない。全能者には不正など、決してない。 34:11 神は人間の行いに従って報い／おのおのの歩みに従って与えられるのだ。 34:12 神が罪を犯すことは決してない。全能者は正義を曲げられない。 34:13 誰が神に全地をゆだね／全世界を負わせたというのか。 34:14 もし神が御自分にのみ、御心を留め／その霊と息吹を御自分に集められるなら 34:15 生きとし生けるものは直ちに息絶え／人間も塵に返るだろう。 34:16 理解しようとして、これを聞け。わたしの語る声に耳を傾けよ。 34:17 正義を憎む者が統治できようか。正しく、また、力強いお方を／あなたは罪に定めるのか。 34:18 王者に向かって「ならず者」と言い／貴い方に向かって「逆らう者」と言うのか。 34:19 身分の高い者をひいきすることも／貴族を貧者より尊重することもないお方／御手によってすべての人は造られた。 34:20 これらの人も瞬く間に／しかも真夜中に、死んでいく。権力ある者は身を震わせて消え去り／力ある者は人の手によらず、退けられる。 34:21 神は人の歩む道に目を注ぎ／その一歩一歩を見ておられる。 34:22 悪を行う者が身を隠そうとしても／暗黒もなければ、死の闇もない。 34:23 人は神の前に出て裁きを受けるのだが／神はその時を定めてはおられない。 34:24 数知れない権力者を打ち倒し／彼らに代えて他の人々を立てられる。 34:25 彼らの行いを知っておられるので／夜の間にそれを覆し、彼らを砕き 34:26 神に逆らう者として／見せしめに、彼らを打たれる。 34:27 彼らが神に従わず／その道を何ひとつ受け入れなかったからだ。 34:28 その時、弱い者の叫びは神に届き／貧しい者の叫びは聞かれる。 34:29 神が黙っておられるのに／罪に定めうる者があろうか。神が顔を背けられるのに／目を注ぐ者があろうか／国に対してであれ人間に対してであれ。 34:30 神は、神を無視する者が王となり／民を罠にかけることがないようにされる。 34:31 人が神に対してこう言ったとする。「わたしは罰を受けました。もう悪いことはいたしません。 34:32 わたしには見えないことを、示してください。わたしは不正を行いましたが／もういたしません。」 34:33 この言葉にどう報いるかを決めるのはあなたか。あなたは神を軽んじているではないか。態度を決めるのは、わたしではなくあなただ。よく考えて話しなさい。 34:34 理解ある人はわたしに言うだろう。知恵ある人はわたしに同意するだろう。 34:35 「ヨブはよく分かって話しているのではない。その言葉は思慮に欠けている。 34:36 悪人のような答え方をヨブはする。彼を徹底的に試すべきだ。 34:37 まことに彼は過ちに加えて罪を犯し／わたしたちに疑惑の念を起こさせ／神に向かってまくしたてている。」
34:1 Elihu further answered and said: 34:2 "Hear my words, you wise men;Give ear to me, you who have knowledge. 34:3 For the ear tests wordsAs the palate tastes food. 34:4 Let us choose justice for ourselves;Let us know among ourselves what is good. 34:5 "For Job has said, 'I am righteous,But God has taken away my justice; 34:6 Should I lie concerning my right?My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.' 34:7 What man is like Job,Who drinks scorn like water, 34:8 Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity,And walks with wicked men? 34:9 For he has said, 'It profits a man nothingThat he should delight in God.' 34:10 "Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding:Far be it from God to do wickedness,And from the Almighty to commit iniquity. 34:11 For He repays man according to his work,And makes man to find a reward according to his way. 34:12 Surely God will never do wickedly,Nor will the Almighty pervert justice. 34:13 Who gave Him charge over the earth?Or who appointed Him over the whole world? 34:14 If He should set His heart on it,If He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath, 34:15 All flesh would perish together,And man would return to dust. 34:16 "If you have understanding, hear this; listen to the sound of my words: 34:17 Should one who hates justice govern?Will you condemn Him who is most just? 34:18 Is it fitting to say to a king, 'You are worthless,'And to nobles, 'You are wicked'? 34:19 Yet He is not partial to princes,Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor;For they are all the work of His hands. 34:20 In a moment they die, in the middle of the night;The people are shaken and pass away;The mighty are taken away without a hand. 34:21 "For His eyes are on the ways of man,And He sees all his steps. 34:22 There is no darkness nor shadow of deathWhere the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. 34:23 For He need not further consider a man,That he should go before God in judgment. 34:24 He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry,And sets others in their place. 34:25 Therefore he knows their works;He overthrows them in the night,And they are crushed. 34:26 He strikes them as wicked menIn the open sight of others, 34:27 Because they turned back from Him,And would not consider any of His ways, 34:28 So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to Him;For He hears the cry of the afflicted. 34:29 When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble?And when He hides His face, who then can see Him,Whether it is against a nation or a man alone?- 34:30 That the hypocrite should not reign,Lest the people be ensnared. 34:31 "For has anyone said to God,'I have borne chastening;I will offend no more; 34:32 Teach me what I do not see;If I have done iniquity, I will do no more'? 34:33 Should He repay it according to your terms,Just because you disavow it?You must choose, and not I;Therefore speak what you know. 34:34 "Men of understanding say to me,Wise men who listen to me: 34:35 'Job speaks without knowledge,His words are without wisdom.' 34:36 Oh, that Job were tried to the utmost,Because his answers are like those of wicked men! 34:37 For he adds rebellion to his sin;He claps his hands among us,And multiplies his words against God."
1:18 不義によって真理の働きを妨げる人間のあらゆる不信心と不義に対して、神は天から怒りを現されます。 1:19 なぜなら、神について知りうる事柄は、彼らにも明らかだからです。神がそれを示されたのです。 1:20 世界が造られたときから、目に見えない神の性質、つまり神の永遠の力と神性は被造物に現れており、これを通して神を知ることができます。従って、彼らには弁解の余地がありません。 1:21 なぜなら、神を知りながら、神としてあがめることも感謝することもせず、かえって、むなしい思いにふけり、心が鈍く暗くなったからです。 1:22 自分では知恵があると吹聴しながら愚かになり、 1:23 滅びることのない神の栄光を、滅び去る人間や鳥や獣や這うものなどに似せた像と取り替えたのです。 1:24 そこで神は、彼らが心の欲望によって不潔なことをするにまかせられ、そのため、彼らは互いにその体を辱めました。 1:25 神の真理を偽りに替え、造り主の代わりに造られた物を拝んでこれに仕えたのです。造り主こそ、永遠にほめたたえられるべき方です、アーメン。 1:26 それで、神は彼らを恥ずべき情欲にまかせられました。女は自然の関係を自然にもとるものに変え、 1:27 同じく男も、女との自然の関係を捨てて、互いに情欲を燃やし、男どうしで恥ずべきことを行い、その迷った行いの当然の報いを身に受けています。 1:28 彼らは神を認めようとしなかったので、神は彼らを無価値な思いに渡され、そのため、彼らはしてはならないことをするようになりました。 1:29 あらゆる不義、悪、むさぼり、悪意に満ち、ねたみ、殺意、不和、欺き、邪念にあふれ、陰口を言い、 1:30 人をそしり、神を憎み、人を侮り、高慢であり、大言を吐き、悪事をたくらみ、親に逆らい、 1:31 無知、不誠実、無情、無慈悲です。 1:32 彼らは、このようなことを行う者が死に値するという神の定めを知っていながら、自分でそれを行うだけではなく、他人の同じ行為をも是認しています。
1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 1:19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 1:21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 1:23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man-and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 1:24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 1:25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 1:26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 1:27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 1:29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 1:30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 1:31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 1:32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
