4:1 子らよ、父の諭しを聞け／分別をわきまえるために、耳を傾けよ。 4:2 わたしは幸いを説いているのだ。わたしの教えを捨ててはならない。 4:3 わたしも父にとっては息子であり／母のもとでは、いとけない独り子であった。 4:4 父はわたしに教えて言った。「わたしの言葉をお前の心に保ち／わたしの戒めを守って、命を得よ。 4:5 わたしの口が言いきかせることを／忘れるな、離れ去るな。知恵を獲得せよ、分別を獲得せよ。 4:6 知恵を捨てるな／彼女はあなたを見守ってくれる。分別を愛せよ／彼女はあなたを守ってくれる。 4:7 知恵の初めとして／知恵を獲得せよ。これまでに得たものすべてに代えても／分別を獲得せよ。 4:8 知恵をふところに抱け／彼女はあなたを高めてくれる。分別を抱きしめよ／彼女はあなたに名誉を与えてくれる。 4:9 あなたの頭に優雅な冠を戴かせ／栄冠となってあなたを飾る。」 4:10 わが子よ、聞け、わたしの言うことを受け入れよ。そうすれば、命の年月は増す。 4:11 わたしはあなたに知恵の道を教え／まっすぐな道にあなたを導いた。 4:12 歩いても、あなたの足取りはたじろがず／走っても、つまずくことはないであろう。 4:13 諭しをとらえて放してはならない。それを守れ、それはあなたの命だ。 4:14 神に逆らう者の道を歩くな。悪事をはたらく者の道を進むな。 4:15 それを避けよ、その道を通るな。そこからそれて、通り過ぎよ。 4:16 彼らは悪事をはたらかずには床に就かず／他人をつまずかせなければ熟睡できない。 4:17 背信のパンを食べ、不法の酒を飲む。 4:18 神に従う人の道は輝き出る光／進むほどに光は増し、真昼の輝きとなる。 4:19 神に逆らう者の道は闇に閉ざされ／何につまずいても、知ることはない。 4:20 わが子よ、わたしの言葉に耳を傾けよ。わたしの言うことに耳を向けよ。 4:21 見失うことなく、心に納めて守れ。 4:22 それらに到達する者にとって、それは命となり／全身を健康にする。 4:23 何を守るよりも、自分の心を守れ。そこに命の源がある。 4:24 曲がった言葉をあなたの口から退け／ひねくれた言葉を唇から遠ざけよ。 4:25 目をまっすぐ前に注げ。あなたに対しているものに／まなざしを正しく向けよ。 4:26 どう足を進めるかをよく計るなら／あなたの道は常に確かなものとなろう。 4:27 右にも左にも偏ってはならない。悪から足を避けよ。
4:1 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father,And give attention to know understanding; 4:2 For I give you good doctrine:Do not forsake my law. 4:3 When I was my father's son,Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, 4:4 He also taught me, and said to me:"Let your heart retain my words;Keep my commands, and live. 4:5 Get wisdom! Get understanding!Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. 4:6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you;Love her, and she will keep you. 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing;Therefore get wisdom.And in all your getting, get understanding. 4:8 Exalt her, and she will promote you;She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. 4:9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace;A crown of glory she will deliver to you." 4:10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,And the years of your life will be many. 4:11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom;I have led you in right paths. 4:12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,And when you run, you will not stumble. 4:13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go;Keep her, for she is your life. 4:14 Do not enter the path of the wicked,And do not walk in the way of evil. 4:15 Avoid it, do not travel on it;Turn away from it and pass on. 4:16 For they do not sleep unless they have done evil;And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. 4:17 For they eat the bread of wickedness,And drink the wine of violence. 4:18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun,That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. 4:19 The way of the wicked is like darkness;They do not know what makes them stumble. 4:20 My son, give attention to my words;Incline your ear to my sayings. 4:21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;Keep them in the midst of your heart; 4:22 For they are life to those who find them,And health to all their flesh. 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence,For out of it spring the issues of life. 4:24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth,And put perverse lips far from you. 4:25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,And your eyelids look right before you. 4:26 Ponder the path of your feet,And let all your ways be established. 4:27 Do not turn to the right or the left;Remove your foot from evil.
7:13 それでは、善いものがわたしにとって死をもたらすものとなったのだろうか。決してそうではない。実は、罪がその正体を現すために、善いものを通してわたしに死をもたらしたのです。このようにして、罪は限りなく邪悪なものであることが、掟を通して示されたのでした。 7:14 わたしたちは、律法が霊的なものであると知っています。しかし、わたしは肉の人であり、罪に売り渡されています。 7:15 わたしは、自分のしていることが分かりません。自分が望むことは実行せず、かえって憎んでいることをするからです。 7:16 もし、望まないことを行っているとすれば、律法を善いものとして認めているわけになります。 7:17 そして、そういうことを行っているのは、もはやわたしではなく、わたしの中に住んでいる罪なのです。 7:18 わたしは、自分の内には、つまりわたしの肉には、善が住んでいないことを知っています。善をなそうという意志はありますが、それを実行できないからです。 7:19 わたしは自分の望む善は行わず、望まない悪を行っている。 7:20 もし、わたしが望まないことをしているとすれば、それをしているのは、もはやわたしではなく、わたしの中に住んでいる罪なのです。 7:21 それで、善をなそうと思う自分には、いつも悪が付きまとっているという法則に気づきます。 7:22 「内なる人」としては神の律法を喜んでいますが、 7:23 わたしの五体にはもう一つの法則があって心の法則と戦い、わたしを、五体の内にある罪の法則のとりこにしているのが分かります。 7:24 わたしはなんと惨めな人間なのでしょう。死に定められたこの体から、だれがわたしを救ってくれるでしょうか。 7:25 わたしたちの主イエス・キリストを通して神に感謝いたします。このように、わたし自身は心では神の律法に仕えていますが、肉では罪の法則に仕えているのです。
7:13 Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. 7:15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. 7:16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 7:17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 7:19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 7:20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 7:21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 7:22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 7:24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 7:25 I thank God-through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
