41:1 勝ち目があると思っても、落胆するだけだ。見ただけでも打ちのめされるほどなのだから。 41:2 彼を挑発するほど勇猛な者はいまい。いるなら、わたしの前に立て。 41:3 あえてわたしの前に立つ者があれば／その者には褒美を与えよう。天の下にあるすべてのものはわたしのものだ。 41:4 彼のからだの各部について／わたしは黙ってはいられない。力のこもった背と見事な体格について。 41:5 誰が彼の身ごしらえを正面から解き／上下の顎の間に押し入ることができようか。 41:6 誰がその顔の扉を開くことができようか。歯の周りには殺気がある。 41:7 背中は盾の列／封印され、固く閉ざされている。 41:8 その盾は次々と連なって／風の吹き込む透き間もない。 41:9 一つの盾はその仲間に結びつき／つながりあって、決して離れない。 41:10 彼がくしゃみをすれば、両眼は／曙のまばたきのように、光を放ち始める。 41:11 口からは火炎が噴き出し／火の粉が飛び散る。 41:12 煮えたぎる鍋の勢いで／鼻からは煙が吹き出る。 41:13 喉は燃える炭火／口からは炎が吹き出る。 41:14 首には猛威が宿り／顔には威嚇がみなぎっている。 41:15 筋肉は幾重にも重なり合い／しっかり彼を包んでびくともしない。 41:16 心臓は石のように硬く／石臼のように硬い。 41:17 彼が立ち上がれば神々もおののき／取り乱して、逃げ惑う。 41:18 剣も槍も、矢も投げ槍も／彼を突き刺すことはできない。 41:19 鉄の武器も麦藁となり／青銅も腐った木となる。 41:20 弓を射ても彼を追うことはできず／石投げ紐の石ももみ殻に変わる。 41:21 彼はこん棒を藁と見なし／投げ槍のうなりを笑う。 41:22 彼の腹は鋭い陶器の破片を並べたよう。打穀機のように土の塊を砕き散らす。 41:23 彼は深い淵を煮えたぎる鍋のように沸き上がらせ／海をるつぼにする。 41:24 彼の進んだ跡には光が輝き／深淵は白髪をなびかせる。 41:25 この地上に、彼を支配する者はいない。彼はおののきを知らぬものとして造られている。 41:26 驕り高ぶるものすべてを見下し／誇り高い獣すべての上に君臨している。
41:1 "Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook,Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower? 41:2 Can you put a reed through his nose,Or pierce his jaw with a hook? 41:3 Will he make many supplications to you?Will he speak softly to you? 41:4 Will he make a covenant with you?Will you take him as a servant forever? 41:5 Will you play with him as with a bird,Or will you leash him for your maidens? 41:6 Will your companions make a banquet of him?Will they apportion him among the merchants? 41:7 Can you fill his skin with harpoons,Or his head with fishing spears? 41:8 Lay your hand on him;Remember the battle-Never do it again! 41:9 Indeed, any hope of overcoming him is false;Shall one not be overwhelmed at the sight of him? 41:10 No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up.Who then is able to stand against Me? 41:11 Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him?Everything under heaven is Mine. 41:12 "I will not conceal his limbs,His mighty power, or his graceful proportions. 41:13 Who can remove his outer coat?Who can approach him with a double bridle? 41:14 Who can open the doors of his face,With his terrible teeth all around? 41:15 His rows of scales are his pride,Shut up tightly as with a seal; 41:16 One is so near anotherThat no air can come between them; 41:17 They are joined one to another,They stick together and cannot be parted. 41:18 His sneezings flash forth light,And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. 41:19 Out of his mouth go burning lights;Sparks of fire shoot out. 41:20 Smoke goes out of his nostrils,As from a boiling pot and burning rushes. 41:21 His breath kindles coals,And a flame goes out of his mouth. 41:22 Strength dwells in his neck,And sorrow dances before him. 41:23 The folds of his flesh are joined together;They are firm on him and cannot be moved. 41:24 His heart is as hard as stone,Even as hard as the lower millstone. 41:25 When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid;Because of his crashings they are beside themselves. 41:26 Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail;Nor does spear, dart, or javelin. 41:27 He regards iron as straw,And bronze as rotten wood. 41:28 The arrow cannot make him flee;Slingstones become like stubble to him. 41:29 Darts are regarded as straw;He laughs at the threat of javelins. 41:30 His undersides are like sharp potsherds;He spreads pointed marks in the mire. 41:31 He makes the deep boil like a pot;He makes the sea like a pot of ointment. 41:32 He leaves a shining wake behind him;One would think the deep had white hair. 41:33 On earth there is nothing like him,Which is made without fear. 41:34 He beholds every high thing;He is king over all the children of pride."
5:1 このように、わたしたちは信仰によって義とされたのだから、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストによって神との間に平和を得ており、 5:2 このキリストのお陰で、今の恵みに信仰によって導き入れられ、神の栄光にあずかる希望を誇りにしています。 5:3 そればかりでなく、苦難をも誇りとします。わたしたちは知っているのです、苦難は忍耐を、 5:4 忍耐は練達を、練達は希望を生むということを。 5:5 希望はわたしたちを欺くことがありません。わたしたちに与えられた聖霊によって、神の愛がわたしたちの心に注がれているからです。 5:6 実にキリストは、わたしたちがまだ弱かったころ、定められた時に、不信心な者のために死んでくださった。 5:7 正しい人のために死ぬ者はほとんどいません。善い人のために命を惜しまない者ならいるかもしれません。 5:8 しかし、わたしたちがまだ罪人であったとき、キリストがわたしたちのために死んでくださったことにより、神はわたしたちに対する愛を示されました。 5:9 それで今や、わたしたちはキリストの血によって義とされたのですから、キリストによって神の怒りから救われるのは、なおさらのことです。 5:10 敵であったときでさえ、御子の死によって神と和解させていただいたのであれば、和解させていただいた今は、御子の命によって救われるのはなおさらです。 5:11 それだけでなく、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストによって、わたしたちは神を誇りとしています。今やこのキリストを通して和解させていただいたからです。
5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 5:2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 5:3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 5:4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 5:6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 5:10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 5:11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
