30:1 だが今は、わたしより若い者らが／わたしを嘲笑う。彼らの父親を羊の番犬と並べることすら／わたしは忌まわしいと思っていたのだ。 30:2 その手の力もわたしの役には立たず／何の気力も残っていないような者らだった。 30:3 無一物で飢え、衰え／荒涼とした砂漠や沼地をさまよい 30:4 あかざの葉を摘み／れだまの根を食糧としていた。 30:5 彼らは世間から追われ／泥棒呼ばわりされ 30:6 身震いさせるような谷間や／土の穴、岩の裂け目に宿り 30:7 茨の間で野ろばのようにいななき／あざみの下に群がり合っていた。 30:8 愚か者、名もない輩／国からたたき出された者らだった。 30:9 ところが今は、わたしが彼らのはやし歌の種／嘲りの言葉を浴びる身になってしまった。 30:10 彼らはわたしを忌み嫌って近寄らず／平気で顔に唾を吐きかけてくる。 30:11 彼らは手綱を振り切り、わたしを辱め／くつわを捨てて勝手にふるまう。 30:12 彼らは生意気にもわたしの右に立ち／わたしを追い出し、災いの道を行かせ 30:13 逃げ道を断ち、滅びに追いやろうとする。それを止めてくれる者はない。 30:14 襲って来て甚だしく打ち破り／押し寄せて来て廃虚にする。 30:15 死の破滅がわたしを襲い／わたしの力は風に吹きさらわれ／わたしの救いは雲のように消え去った。 30:16 もはや、わたしは息も絶えんばかり／苦しみの日々がわたしを捕えた。 30:17 夜、わたしの骨は刺すように痛み／わたしをさいなむ病は休むことがない。 30:18 病は肌着のようにまつわりつき／その激しさにわたしの皮膚は／見る影もなく変わった。 30:19 わたしは泥の中に投げ込まれ／塵芥に等しくなってしまった。 30:20 神よ／わたしはあなたに向かって叫んでいるのに／あなたはお答えにならない。御前に立っているのに／あなたは御覧にならない。 30:21 あなたは冷酷になり／御手の力をもってわたしに怒りを表される。 30:22 わたしを吹き上げ、風に乗せ／風のうなりの中でほんろうなさる。 30:23 わたしは知っている。あなたはわたしを死の国へ／すべて命あるものがやがて集められる家へ／連れ戻そうとなさっているのだ。 30:24 人は、嘆き求める者に手を差し伸べ／不幸な者を救おうとしないだろうか。 30:25 わたしは苦境にある人と共に／泣かなかったろうか。貧しい人のために心を痛めなかったろうか。 30:26 わたしは幸いを望んだのに、災いが来た。光を待っていたのに、闇が来た。 30:27 わたしの胸は沸き返り／静まろうとしない。苦しみの日々がわたしに襲いかかっている。 30:28 光を見ることなく、嘆きつつ歩き／人々の中に立ち、救いを求めて叫ぶ。 30:29 山犬の兄弟となり／駝鳥の仲間となったかのように 30:30 わたしの皮膚は黒くなって、はげ落ち／骨は熱に焼けただれている。 30:31 喪の調べをわたしの竪琴は奏で／悲しみの歌をわたしの笛は歌う。
30:1 "But now they mock at me, men younger than I,Whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock. 30:2 Indeed, what profit is the strength of their hands to me?Their vigor has perished. 30:3 They are gaunt from want and famine,Fleeing late to the wilderness, desolate and waste, 30:4 Who pluck mallow by the bushes,And broom tree roots for their food. 30:5 They were driven out from among men,They shouted at them as at a thief. 30:6 They had to live in the clefts of the valleys,In caves of the earth and the rocks. 30:7 Among the bushes they brayed,Under the nettles they nestled. 30:8 They were sons of fools,Yes, sons of vile men;They were scourged from the land. 30:9 "And now I am their taunting song;Yes, I am their byword. 30:10 They abhor me, they keep far from me;They do not hesitate to spit in my face. 30:11 Because He has loosed my bowstring and afflicted me,They have cast off restraint before me. 30:12 At my right hand the rabble arises;They push away my feet,And they raise against me their ways of destruction. 30:13 They break up my path,They promote my calamity;They have no helper. 30:14 They come as broad breakers;Under the ruinous storm they roll along. 30:15 Terrors are turned upon me;They pursue my honor as the wind,And my prosperity has passed like a cloud. 30:16 "And now my soul is poured out because of my plight;The days of affliction take hold of me. 30:17 My bones are pierced in me at night,And my gnawing pains take no rest. 30:18 By great force my garment is disfigured;It binds me about as the collar of my coat. 30:19 He has cast me into the mire,And I have become like dust and ashes. 30:20 "I cry out to You, but You do not answer me;I stand up, and You regard me. 30:21 But You have become cruel to me;With the strength of Your hand You oppose me. 30:22 You lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride on it;You spoil my success. 30:23 For I know that You will bring me to death,And to the house appointed for all living. 30:24 "Surely He would not stretch out His hand against a heap of ruins,If they cry out when He destroys it. 30:25 Have I not wept for him who was in trouble?Has not my soul grieved for the poor? 30:26 But when I looked for good, evil came to me;And when I waited for light, then came darkness. 30:27 My heart is in turmoil and cannot rest;Days of affliction confront me. 30:28 I go about mourning, but not in the sun;I stand up in the assembly and cry out for help. 30:29 I am a brother of jackals,And a companion of ostriches. 30:30 My skin grows black and falls from me;My bones burn with fever. 30:31 My harp is turned to mourning,And my flute to the voice of those who weep.
27:27 十四日目の夜になったとき、わたしたちはアドリア海を漂流していた。真夜中ごろ船員たちは、どこかの陸地に近づいているように感じた。 27:28 そこで、水の深さを測ってみると、二十オルギィアあることが分かった。もう少し進んでまた測ってみると、十五オルギィアであった。 27:29 船が暗礁に乗り上げることを恐れて、船員たちは船尾から錨を四つ投げ込み、夜の明けるのを待ちわびた。 27:30 ところが、船員たちは船から逃げ出そうとし、船首から錨を降ろす振りをして小舟を海に降ろしたので、 27:31 パウロは百人隊長と兵士たちに、「あの人たちが船にとどまっていなければ、あなたがたは助からない」と言った。 27:32 そこで、兵士たちは綱を断ち切って、小舟を流れるにまかせた。 27:33 夜が明けかけたころ、パウロは一同に食事をするように勧めた。「今日で十四日もの間、皆さんは不安のうちに全く何も食べずに、過ごしてきました。 27:34 だから、どうぞ何か食べてください。生き延びるために必要だからです。あなたがたの頭から髪の毛一本もなくなることはありません。」 27:35 こう言ってパウロは、一同の前でパンを取って神に感謝の祈りをささげてから、それを裂いて食べ始めた。 27:36 そこで、一同も元気づいて食事をした。 27:37 船にいたわたしたちは、全部で二百七十六人であった。 27:38 十分に食べてから、穀物を海に投げ捨てて船を軽くした。
27:39 朝になって、どこの陸地であるか分からなかったが、砂浜のある入り江を見つけたので、できることなら、そこへ船を乗り入れようということになった。 27:40 そこで、錨を切り離して海に捨て、同時に舵の綱を解き、風に船首の帆を上げて、砂浜に向かって進んだ。 27:41 ところが、深みに挟まれた浅瀬にぶつかって船を乗り上げてしまい、船首がめり込んで動かなくなり、船尾は激しい波で壊れだした。 27:42 兵士たちは、囚人たちが泳いで逃げないように、殺そうと計ったが、 27:43 百人隊長はパウロを助けたいと思ったので、この計画を思いとどまらせた。そして、泳げる者がまず飛び込んで陸に上がり、 27:44 残りの者は板切れや船の乗組員につかまって泳いで行くように命令した。このようにして、全員が無事に上陸した。
27:27 Now when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven up and down in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors sensed that they were drawing near some land. 27:28 And they took soundings and found it to be twenty fathoms; and when they had gone a little farther, they took soundings again and found it to be fifteen fathoms. 27:29 Then, fearing lest we should run aground on the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern, and prayed for day to come. 27:30 And as the sailors were seeking to escape from the ship, when they had let down the skiff into the sea, under pretense of putting out anchors from the prow, 27:31 Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, "Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved." 27:32 Then the soldiers cut away the ropes of the skiff and let it fall off. 27:33 And as day was about to dawn, Paul implored them all to take food, saying, "Today is the fourteenth day you have waited and continued without food, and eaten nothing. 27:34 "Therefore I urge you to take nourishment, for this is for your survival, since not a hair will fall from the head of any of you." 27:35 And when he had said these things, he took bread and gave thanks to God in the presence of them all; and when he had broken it he began to eat. 27:36 Then they were all encouraged, and also took food themselves. 27:37 And in all we were two hundred and seventy-six persons on the ship. 27:38 So when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship and threw out the wheat into the sea. 27:39 When it was day, they did not recognize the land; but they observed a bay with a beach, onto which they planned to run the ship if possible. 27:40 And they let go the anchors and left them in the sea, meanwhile loosing the rudder ropes; and they hoisted the mainsail to the wind and made for shore. 27:41 But striking a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the prow stuck fast and remained immovable, but the stern was being broken up by the violence of the waves. 27:42 And the soldiers' plan was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim away and escape. 27:43 But the centurion, wanting to save Paul, kept them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should jump overboard first and get to land, 27:44 and the rest, some on boards and some on parts of the ship. And so it was that they all escaped safely to land.
