2:1 イスラエルの人々は、その数を増し／海の砂のようになり／量ることも、数えることもできなくなる。彼らは／「あなたたちは、ロ・アンミ（わが民でない者）」と／言われるかわりに／「生ける神の子ら」と言われるようになる。 2:2 ユダの人々とイスラエルの人々は／ひとつに集められ／一人の頭を立てて、その地から上って来る。イズレエルの日は栄光に満たされる。 2:3 あなたたちは兄弟に向かって／「アンミ（わが民）」と言え。あなたたちは姉妹に向かって／「ルハマ（憐れまれる者）」と言え。
2:4 告発せよ、お前たちの母を告発せよ。彼女はもはやわたしの妻ではなく／わたしは彼女の夫ではない。彼女の顔から淫行を／乳房の間から姦淫を取り除かせよ。 2:5 さもなければ、わたしが衣をはぎ取って裸にし／生まれた日の姿にして、さらしものにする。また、彼女を荒れ野のように／乾いた地のように干上がらせ／彼女を渇きで死なせる。 2:6 わたしはその子らを憐れまない。淫行による子らだから。 2:7 その母は淫行にふけり／彼らを身ごもった者は恥ずべきことを行った。彼女は言う。「愛人たちについて行こう。パンと水、羊毛と麻／オリーブ油と飲み物をくれるのは彼らだ。」 2:8 それゆえ、わたしは彼女の行く道を茨でふさぎ／石垣で遮り／道を見いだせないようにする。 2:9 彼女は愛人の後を追っても追いつけず／尋ね求めても見いだせない。そのとき、彼女は言う。「初めの夫のもとに帰ろう／あのときは、今よりも幸せだった」と。 2:10 彼女は知らないのだ。穀物、新しい酒、オリーブ油を与え／バアル像を造った金銀を、豊かに得させたのは／わたしだということを。 2:11 それゆえ、わたしは刈り入れのときに穀物を／取り入れのときに新しい酒を取り戻す。また、彼女の裸を覆っている／わたしの羊毛と麻とを奪い取る。 2:12 こうして、彼女の恥を愛人たちの目の前にさらす。この手から彼女を救い出す者はだれもない。 2:13 わたしは彼女の楽しみをすべて絶ち／祭り、新月祭、安息日などの祝いを／すべてやめさせる。 2:14 また、彼女のぶどうといちじくの園を荒らす。「これは愛人たちの贈り物だ」と／彼女は言っているが／わたしはそれを茂みに変え／野の獣がそれを食い荒らす。 2:15 バアルを祝って過ごした日々について／わたしは彼女を罰する。彼女はバアルに香をたき／鼻輪や首飾りで身を飾り／愛人の後について行き／わたしを忘れ去った、と主は言われる。
2:16 それゆえ、わたしは彼女をいざなって／荒れ野に導き、その心に語りかけよう。 2:17 そのところで、わたしはぶどう園を与え／アコル（苦悩）の谷を希望の門として与える。そこで、彼女はわたしにこたえる。おとめであったとき／エジプトの地から上ってきた日のように。 2:18 その日が来ればと／主は言われる。あなたはわたしを、「わが夫」と呼び／もはや、「わが主人（バアル）」とは呼ばない。 2:19 わたしは、どのバアルの名をも／彼女の口から取り除く。もはやその名が唱えられることはない。 2:20 その日には、わたしは彼らのために／野の獣、空の鳥、土を這うものと契約を結ぶ。弓も剣も戦いもこの地から絶ち／彼らを安らかに憩わせる。 2:21 わたしは、あなたととこしえの契りを結ぶ。わたしは、あなたと契りを結び／正義と公平を与え、慈しみ憐れむ。 2:22 わたしはあなたとまことの契りを結ぶ。あなたは主を知るようになる。 2:23 その日が来れば、わたしはこたえると／主は言われる。わたしは天にこたえ／天は地にこたえる。 2:24 地は、穀物と新しい酒とオリーブ油にこたえ／それらはイズレエル（神が種を蒔く）にこたえる。 2:25 わたしは彼女を地に蒔き／ロ・ルハマ（憐れまれぬ者）を憐れみ／ロ・アンミ（わが民でない者）に向かって／「あなたはアンミ（わが民）」と言う。彼は、「わが神よ」とこたえる。
2:1 Say to your brethren, 'My people,'And to your sisters, 'Mercy is shown.' 2:2 "Bring charges against your mother, bring charges;For she is not My wife, nor am I her Husband!Let her put away her harlotries from her sight,And her adulteries from between her breasts; 2:3 Lest I strip her nakedAnd expose her, as in the day she was born,And make her like a wilderness,And set her like a dry land,And slay her with thirst. 2:4 "I will not have mercy on her children,For they are the children of harlotry. 2:5 For their mother has played the harlot;She who conceived them has behaved shamefully.For she said, 'I will go after my lovers,Who give me my bread and my water,My wool and my linen,My oil and my drink.' 2:6 "Therefore, behold,I will hedge up your way with thorns,And wall her in,So that she cannot find her paths. 2:7 She will chase her lovers,But not overtake them;Yes, she will seek them, but not find them.Then she will say,'I will go and return to my first husband,For then it was better for me than now.' 2:8 For she did not knowThat I gave her grain, new wine, and oil,And multiplied her silver and gold-Which they prepared for Baal. 2:9 "Therefore I will return and take awayMy grain in its timeAnd My new wine in its season,And will take back My wool and My linen,Given to cover her nakedness. 2:10 Now I will uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers,And no one shall deliver her from My hand. 2:11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease,Her feast days,Her New Moons,Her Sabbaths-All her appointed feasts. 2:12 "And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees,Of which she has said,'These are my wages that my lovers have given me.'So I will make them a forest,And the beasts of the field shall eat them. 2:13 I will punish herFor the days of the Baals to which she burned incense.She decked herself with her earrings and jewelry,And went after her lovers;But Me she forgot," says the Lord. 2:14 "Therefore, behold, I will allure her,Will bring her into the wilderness,And speak comfort to her. 2:15 I will give her her vineyards from there,And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope;She shall sing there,As in the days of her youth,As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt. 2:16 "And it shall be, in that day,"Says the Lord,"That you will call Me 'My Husband,'And no longer call Me 'My Master,' 2:17 For I will take from her mouth the names of the Baals,And they shall be remembered by their name no more. 2:18 In that day I will make a covenant for themWith the beasts of the field,With the birds of the air,And with the creeping things of the ground.Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth,To make them lie down safely. 2:19 "I will betroth you to Me forever;Yes, I will betroth you to MeIn righteousness and justice,In lovingkindness and mercy; 2:20 I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness,And you shall know the Lord. 2:21 "It shall come to pass in that dayThat I will answer," says the Lord;"I will answer the heavens,And they shall answer the earth. 2:22 The earth shall answerWith grain,With new wine,And with oil;They shall answer Jezreel. 2:23 Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth,And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy;Then I will say to those who were not My people,'You are My people!'And they shall say, 'You are my God!' "
3:8 愛する人たち、このことだけは忘れないでほしい。主のもとでは、一日は千年のようで、千年は一日のようです。 3:9 ある人たちは、遅いと考えているようですが、主は約束の実現を遅らせておられるのではありません。そうではなく、一人も滅びないで皆が悔い改めるようにと、あなたがたのために忍耐しておられるのです。 3:10 主の日は盗人のようにやって来ます。その日、天は激しい音をたてながら消えうせ、自然界の諸要素は熱に熔け尽くし、地とそこで造り出されたものは暴かれてしまいます。
3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
