1:1 ユダの王、ウジヤ、ヨタム、アハズ、ヒゼキヤの時代、イスラエルの王ヨアシュの子ヤロブアムの時代に、ベエリの子ホセアに臨んだ主の言葉。
1:2 主がホセアに語られたことの初め。主はホセアに言われた。「行け、淫行の女をめとり／淫行による子らを受け入れよ。この国は主から離れ、淫行にふけっているからだ。」 1:3 彼は行って、ディブライムの娘ゴメルをめとった。彼女は身ごもり、男の子を産んだ。 1:4 主は彼に言われた。「その子をイズレエルと名付けよ。間もなく、わたしはイエフの王家に／イズレエルにおける流血の罰を下し／イスラエルの家におけるその支配を絶つ。 1:5 その日が来ると／イズレエルの平野で／わたしはイスラエルの弓を折る。」 1:6 彼女は再び身ごもり、女の子を産んだ。主は彼に言われた。「その子を／ロ・ルハマ（憐れまれぬ者）と名付けよ。わたしは、もはやイスラエルの家を憐れまず／彼らを決して赦さないからだ。 1:7 だが、ユダの家には憐れみをかけ／彼らの神なる主として、わたしは彼らを救う。弓、剣、戦い、馬、騎兵によって／救うのではない。」 1:8 彼女はロ・ルハマを乳離れさせると、また身ごもって、男の子を産んだ。 1:9 主は言われた。「その子を／ロ・アンミ（わが民でない者）と名付けよ。あなたたちはわたしの民ではなく／わたしはあなたたちの神ではないからだ。」
1:1 The word of the Lord that came to Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. 1:2 When the Lord began to speak by Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea:"Go, take yourself a wife of harlotryAnd children of harlotry,For the land has committed great harlotryBy departing from the Lord." 1:3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son. 1:4 Then the Lord said to him:"Call his name Jezreel,For in a little whileI will avenge the bloodshed of Jezreel on the house of Jehu,And bring an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel. 1:5 It shall come to pass in that dayThat I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel." 1:6 And she conceived again and bore a daughter. Then God said to him:"Call her name Lo-Ruhamah,For I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel,But I will utterly take them away. 1:7 Yet I will have mercy on the house of Judah,Will save them by the Lord their God,And will not save them by bow,Nor by sword or battle,By horses or horsemen." 1:8 Now when she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived and bore a son. 1:9 Then God said:"Call his name Lo-Ammi,For you are not My people,And I will not be your God. 1:10 "Yet the number of the children of IsraelShall be as the sand of the sea,Which cannot be measured or numbered.And it shall come to passIn the place where it was said to them,'You are not My people,'There it shall be said to them,'You are sons of the living God.' 1:11 Then the children of Judah and the children of IsraelShall be gathered together,And appoint for themselves one head;And they shall come up out of the land,For great will be the day of Jezreel!
3:1 愛する人たち、わたしはあなたがたに二度目の手紙を書いていますが、それは、これらの手紙によってあなたがたの記憶を呼び起こして、純真な心を奮い立たせたいからです。 3:2 聖なる預言者たちがかつて語った言葉と、あなたがたの使徒たちが伝えた、主であり救い主である方の掟を思い出してもらうためです。 3:3 まず、次のことを知っていなさい。終わりの時には、欲望の赴くままに生活してあざける者たちが現れ、あざけって、 3:4 こう言います。「主が来るという約束は、いったいどうなったのだ。父たちが死んでこのかた、世の中のことは、天地創造の初めから何一つ変わらないではないか。」 3:5 彼らがそのように言うのは、次のことを認めようとしないからです。すなわち、天は大昔から存在し、地は神の言葉によって水を元として、また水によってできたのですが、 3:6 当時の世界は、その水によって洪水に押し流されて滅んでしまいました。 3:7 しかし、現在の天と地とは、火で滅ぼされるために、同じ御言葉によって取っておかれ、不信心な者たちが裁かれて滅ぼされる日まで、そのままにしておかれるのです。
3:1 Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 3:2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3:3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 3:4 and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." 3:5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 3:6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 3:7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
