10:1 ペルシアの王キュロスの治世第三年のことである。ベルテシャツァルと呼ばれるダニエルに一つの言葉が啓示された。この言葉は真実であり、理解するのは非常に困難であったが、幻のうちに、ダニエルに説明が与えられた。 10:2 そのころわたしダニエルは、三週間にわたる嘆きの祈りをしていた。 10:3 その三週間は、一切の美食を遠ざけ、肉も酒も口にせず、体には香油も塗らなかった。 10:4 一月二十四日のこと、チグリスという大河の岸にわたしはいた。 10:5 目を上げて眺めると、見よ、一人の人が麻の衣を着、純金の帯を腰に締めて立っていた。 10:6 体は宝石のようで、顔は稲妻のよう、目は松明の炎のようで、腕と足は磨かれた青銅のよう、話す声は大群衆の声のようであった。 10:7 この幻を見たのはわたしダニエルひとりであって、共にいた人々は何も見なかったのだが、強い恐怖に襲われて逃げ出し、隠れてしまった。 10:8 わたしはひとり残ってその壮大な幻を眺めていたが、力が抜けていき、姿は変わり果てて打ちのめされ、気力を失ってしまった。 10:9 その人の話す声が聞こえてきたが、わたしは聞きながら意識を失い、地に倒れた。 10:10 突然、一つの手がわたしに触れて引き起こしたので、わたしは手と膝をついた。 10:11 彼はこう言った。「愛されている者ダニエルよ、わたしがお前に語ろうとする言葉をよく理解せよ、そして、立ち上がれ。わたしはこうしてお前のところに遣わされて来たのだ。」こう話しかけられて、わたしは震えながら立ち上がった。 10:12 彼は言葉を継いだ。「ダニエルよ、恐れることはない。神の前に心を尽くして苦行し、神意を知ろうとし始めたその最初の日から、お前の言葉は聞き入れられており、お前の言葉のためにわたしは来た。 10:13 ペルシア王国の天使長が二十一日間わたしに抵抗したが、大天使長のひとりミカエルが助けに来てくれたので、わたしはペルシアの王たちのところにいる必要がなくなった。 10:14 それで、お前の民に将来起こるであろうことを知らせるために来たのだ。この幻はその時に関するものだ。」 10:15 こう言われてわたしは顔を地に伏せ、言葉を失った。 10:16 すると見よ、人の子のような姿の者がわたしの唇に触れたので、わたしは口を開き、前に立つその姿に話しかけた。「主よ、この幻のためにわたしは大層苦しみ、力を失いました。 10:17 どうして主の僕であるわたしのような者が、主のようなお方と話すことなどできましょうか。力はうせ、息も止まらんばかりです。」 10:18 人のようなその姿は、再びわたしに触れて力づけてくれた。 10:19 彼は言った。「恐れることはない。愛されている者よ。平和を取り戻し、しっかりしなさい。」こう言われて、わたしは力を取り戻し、こう答えた。「主よ、お話しください。わたしは力が出てきました。」 10:20 彼は言った。「なぜお前のところに来たか、分かったであろう。今、わたしはペルシアの天使長と闘うために帰る。わたしが去るとすぐギリシアの天使長が現れるであろう。 10:21 しかし、真理の書に記されていることをお前に教えよう。お前たちの天使長ミカエルのほかに、これらに対してわたしを助ける者はないのだ。
10:1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, but the appointed time was long; and he understood the message, and had understanding of the vision. 10:2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. 10:3 I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. 10:4 Now on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, that is, the Tigris, 10:5 I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, a certain man clothed in linen, whose waist was girded with gold of Uphaz! 10:6 His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude. 10:7 And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision; but a great terror fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. 10:8 Therefore I was left alone when I saw this great vision, and no strength remained in me; for my vigor was turned to frailty in me, and I retained no strength. 10:9 Yet I heard the sound of his words; and while I heard the sound of his words I was in a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground. 10:10 Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. 10:11 And he said to me, "O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you." While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling. 10:12 Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 10:13 "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. 10:14 "Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come." 10:15 When he had spoken such words to me, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless. 10:16 And suddenly, one having the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke, saying to him who stood before me, "My lord, because of the vision my sorrows have overwhelmed me, and I have retained no strength. 10:17 "For how can this servant of my lord talk with you, my lord? As for me, no strength remains in me now, nor is any breath left in me." 10:18 Then again, the one having the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me. 10:19 And he said, "O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!" So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, "Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me." 10:20 Then he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come. 10:21 "But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth. (No one upholds me against these, except Michael your prince.
2:1 かつて、民の中に偽預言者がいました。同じように、あなたがたの中にも偽教師が現れるにちがいありません。彼らは、滅びをもたらす異端をひそかに持ち込み、自分たちを贖ってくださった主を拒否しました。自分の身に速やかな滅びを招いており、 2:2 しかも、多くの人が彼らのみだらな楽しみを見倣っています。彼らのために真理の道はそしられるのです。 2:3 彼らは欲が深く、うそ偽りであなたがたを食い物にします。このような者たちに対する裁きは、昔から怠りなくなされていて、彼らの滅びも滞ることはありません。 2:4 神は、罪を犯した天使たちを容赦せず、暗闇という縄で縛って地獄に引き渡し、裁きのために閉じ込められました。 2:5 また、神は昔の人々を容赦しないで、不信心な者たちの世界に洪水を引き起こし、義を説いていたノアたち八人を保護なさったのです。 2:6 また、神はソドムとゴモラの町を灰にし、滅ぼし尽くして罰し、それから後の不信心な者たちへの見せしめとなさいました。 2:7 しかし神は、不道徳な者たちのみだらな言動によって悩まされていた正しい人ロトを、助け出されました。 2:8 なぜなら、この正しい人は、彼らの中で生活していたとき、毎日よこしまな行為を見聞きして正しい心を痛めていたからです。 2:9 主は、信仰のあつい人を試練から救い出す一方、正しくない者たちを罰し、裁きの日まで閉じ込めておくべきだと考えておられます。 2:10 特に、汚れた情欲の赴くままに肉に従って歩み、権威を侮る者たちを、そのように扱われるのです。
2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2:2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 2:3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 2:4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 2:5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 2:6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 2:7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 2:8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)- 2:9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, 2:10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority.
