9:1 このような事があって後、長たちがわたしのもとに来て、言った。「イスラエルの民も、祭司も、レビ人も、この地の住民から離れようとはしません。カナン人、ヘト人、ペリジ人、エブス人、アンモン人、モアブ人、エジプト人、アモリ人と同様に行うその住民の忌まわしい行いに従って、 9:2 彼らは、自分のためにも息子たちのためにもこの地の住民の娘を嫁にし、聖なる種族はこの地の住民と混じり合うようになりました。しかも、長たる者、官職にある者がこの悪事にまず手を染めたのです。」 9:3 わたしはこのことを聞いて、衣とマントを裂き、髪の毛とひげをむしり、ぼう然として座り込んだ。 9:4 また、この捕囚の民の悪事に対するイスラエルの神の裁きの言葉を恐れる者は皆、わたしのもとに集まって来たが、夕べの献げ物のときまで、わたしはぼう然として座り続けた。 9:5 夕べの献げ物のときになって、かがめていた身を起こし、裂けた衣とマントをつけたままひざまずき、わが神、主に向かって手を広げ、 9:6 祈り始めた。
9:6 「わが神よ、御前に恥じ入るあまり、わたしは顔を上げることができません。わたしたちの罪悪は積み重なって身の丈を越え、罪科は大きく天にまで達しています。 9:7 先祖の時代から今日まで、わたしたちは大きな罪科の中にあります。その罪悪のために、わたしたちは王も祭司もこの地の王の支配下に置かれ、剣にかけられ、捕らわれ人となり、略奪され、辱められてきました。今日、御覧のとおりです。 9:8 ところが今、ほんの少し前から、わたしたちの神、主の憐れみにより、わたしたちの幾人かが捕囚を免れて生き残り、あなたの聖なる所によりどころを得るようにされました。こうして、わたしたちの神はわたしたちの目に光を与え、奴隷の身にありながらも、わずかに生きる力を授けてくださいました。 9:9 まことに、わたしたちは奴隷にされています。しかし、わたしたちの神はわたしたちを奴隷のまま捨て去ることなく、ペルシアの諸王がわたしたちに対して好意を抱くようにし、生きる力を与えてくださいました。こうして、ユダとエルサレムでわたしたちの神の神殿を再建し、廃虚を復興し、城壁を得るようにしてくださいました。 9:10 わたしたちの神よ、こうした御恩をいただきながら、今何を申し上げればよいのでしょうか。わたしたちは御命令に背いてしまったのです。 9:11 御命令は、あなたの僕、預言者たちによってこう伝えられました。『これから入って所有する地は、その地の住民の汚れによって汚された地である。そこは、その端から端まで彼らの忌まわしい行いによって汚れに満たされている。 9:12 それゆえ、あなたたちの娘を彼らの息子に嫁がせたり、彼らの娘をあなたたちの息子の嫁にしたりしてはならない。あなたたちが強くなり、この地の良い実を食べ、それを永久に子孫の所有とすることを望むならば、彼らと同盟を結ぼうとしてはならない。また、それによる繁栄を決して求めてはならない』と。 9:13 わたしたちは、数々の大きな悪事と罪科のゆえに受くべき艱難をすべて受けましたが、わたしたちの神、あなたはわたしたちの重い罪悪をもそう重く見ず、わたしたちをこのように生き残らせてくださいました。この後で、 9:14 またしても御命令を破り、その忌まわしい民と縁組みをすることができましょうか。お怒りになって、わたしたちを一人残らず滅ぼし尽くされても当然です。 9:15 イスラエルの神、主よ、あなたは恵み深いお方です。だからこそ、わたしたちは今日も生き残りとしてここにいるのです。御覧ください。このような有様で御前に立ちえないのですが、罪深い者として、御前にぬかずいております。」
[ 9 ] 9:1 When these things were done, the leaders came to me, saying, "The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, with respect to the abominations of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. 9:2 "For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with the peoples of those lands. Indeed, the hand of the leaders and rulers has been foremost in this trespass." 9:3 So when I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe, and plucked out some of the hair of my head and beard, and sat down astonished. 9:4 Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel assembled to me, because of the transgression of those who had been carried away captive, and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice. 9:5 At the evening sacrifice I arose from my fasting; and having torn my garment and my robe, I fell on my knees and spread out my hands to the Lord my God. 9:6 And I said: "O my God, I am too ashamed and humiliated to lift up my face to You, my God; for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has grown up to the heavens. 9:7 "Since the days of our fathers to this day we have been very guilty, and for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plunder, and to humiliation, as it is this day. 9:8 "And now for a little while grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival in our bondage. 9:9 "For we were slaves. Yet our God did not forsake us in our bondage; but He extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us, to repair the house of our God, to rebuild its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem. 9:10 "And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken Your commandments, 9:11 "which You commanded by Your servants the prophets, saying, 'The land which you are entering to possess is an unclean land, with the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations which have filled it from one end to another with their impurity. 9:12 'Now therefore, do not give your daughters as wives for their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons; and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your children forever.' 9:13 "And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, since You our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such deliverance as this, 9:14 "should we again break Your commandments, and join in marriage with the people committing these abominations? Would You not be angry with us until You had consumed us, so that there would be no remnant or survivor? 9:15 "O Lord God of Israel, You are righteous, for we are left as a remnant, as it is this day. Here we are before You, in our guilt, though no one can stand before You because of this!"
4:23 さて二人は、釈放されると仲間のところへ行き、祭司長たちや長老たちの言ったことを残らず話した。 4:24 これを聞いた人たちは心を一つにし、神に向かって声をあげて言った。「主よ、あなたは天と地と海と、そして、そこにあるすべてのものを造られた方です。 4:25 あなたの僕であり、また、わたしたちの父であるダビデの口を通し、あなたは聖霊によってこうお告げになりました。『なぜ、異邦人は騒ぎ立ち、／諸国の民はむなしいことを企てるのか。 4:26 地上の王たちはこぞって立ち上がり、／指導者たちは団結して、／主とそのメシアに逆らう。』 4:27 事実、この都でヘロデとポンティオ・ピラトは、異邦人やイスラエルの民と一緒になって、あなたが油を注がれた聖なる僕イエスに逆らいました。 4:28 そして、実現するようにと御手と御心によってあらかじめ定められていたことを、すべて行ったのです。 4:29 主よ、今こそ彼らの脅しに目を留め、あなたの僕たちが、思い切って大胆に御言葉を語ることができるようにしてください。 4:30 どうか、御手を伸ばし聖なる僕イエスの名によって、病気がいやされ、しるしと不思議な業が行われるようにしてください。」 4:31 祈りが終わると、一同の集まっていた場所が揺れ動き、皆、聖霊に満たされて、大胆に神の言葉を語りだした。
4:32 信じた人々の群れは心も思いも一つにし、一人として持ち物を自分のものだと言う者はなく、すべてを共有していた。 4:33 使徒たちは、大いなる力をもって主イエスの復活を証しし、皆、人々から非常に好意を持たれていた。 4:34 信者の中には、一人も貧しい人がいなかった。土地や家を持っている人が皆、それを売っては代金を持ち寄り、 4:35 使徒たちの足もとに置き、その金は必要に応じて、おのおのに分配されたからである。 4:36 たとえば、レビ族の人で、使徒たちからバルナバ――「慰めの子」という意味――と呼ばれていた、キプロス島生まれのヨセフも、 4:37 持っていた畑を売り、その代金を持って来て使徒たちの足もとに置いた。
4:23 And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 4:24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: "Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 4:25 "who by the mouth of Your servant David have said:'Why did the nations rage,And the people plot vain things? 4:26 The kings of the earth took their stand,And the rulers were gathered togetherAgainst the Lord and against His Christ.' 4:27 "For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 4:28 "to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. 4:29 "Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 4:30 "by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus." 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. 4:32 Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 4:33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. 4:34 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 4:35 and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. 4:36 And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, 4:37 having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet.
