3:1 第七の月になって、イスラエルの人々は自分たちの町にいたが、民はエルサレムに集まって一人の人のようになった。 3:2 祭司たち、すなわちヨツァダクの子イエシュアとその兄弟たちは、シェアルティエルの子ゼルバベルとその兄弟たちと共に立ち上がり、イスラエルの神の祭壇を築き、神の人モーセの律法に書き記されているとおり、焼き尽くす献げ物をその上にささげようとした。 3:3 彼らはその地の住民に恐れを抱きながら、その昔の土台の上に祭壇を築き、その上に焼き尽くす献げ物、朝と夕の焼き尽くす献げ物を主にささげた。 3:4 書き記されているとおり仮庵祭を行い、定めに従って日ごとに決められた数を守って日ごとの焼き尽くす献げ物をささげた。 3:5 その後、絶やすことなくささぐべき焼き尽くす献げ物、新月祭、主のすべての聖なる祝祭、主に随意の献げ物をするすべての人のために献げ物をささげた。 3:6 第七の月の一日に、彼らは主に焼き尽くす献げ物をささげ始めた。しかし、主の神殿の基礎はまだ据えられていなかった。 3:7 彼らは石工と大工に銀貨を支払い、シドン人とティルス人に食べ物と飲み物と油を与え、ペルシア王キュロスの許しを得て、レバノンから海路ヤッファに杉材を運ばせていた。
3:8 エルサレムの神殿に帰った翌年の第二の月に、シェアルティエルの子ゼルバベルとヨツァダクの子イエシュアは彼らの他の兄弟たち、祭司とレビ人、および捕らわれの地からエルサレムに帰って来たすべての人と共に仕事に取りかかり、二十歳以上のレビ人を主の神殿の工事の指揮に当たらせた。 3:9 イエシュアもその子らと兄弟たち、カドミエルとその子ら、ホダウヤの子らと一緒になって、神殿の工事に携わる者を指揮することとなった。ヘナダドの子ら、およびその子らと兄弟たち、レビ人も同様であった。 3:10 建築作業に取りかかった者たちが神殿の基礎を据えると、祭服を身に着け、ラッパを持った祭司と、シンバルを持ったアサフの子らであるレビ人が立って、イスラエルの王ダビデの定めに従って主を賛美した。 3:11 彼らも「主は恵み深く、イスラエルに対する慈しみはとこしえに」と唱和して、主を賛美し、感謝した。主の神殿の基礎が据えられたので、民も皆、主を賛美し大きな叫び声をあげた。 3:12 昔の神殿を見たことのある多くの年取った祭司、レビ人、家長たちは、この神殿の基礎が据えられるのを見て大声をあげて泣き、また多くの者が喜びの叫び声をあげた。 3:13 人々は喜びの叫び声と民の泣く声を識別することができなかった。民の叫び声は非常に大きく、遠くまで響いたからである。
[ 3 ] 3:1 And when the seventh month had come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered together as one man to Jerusalem. 3:2 Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brethren, arose and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the Law of Moses the man of God. 3:3 Though fear had come upon them because of the people of those countries, they set the altar on its bases; and they offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening burnt offerings. 3:4 They also kept the Feast of Tabernacles, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings in the number required by ordinance for each day. 3:5 Afterwards they offered the regular burnt offering, and those for New Moons and for all the appointed feasts of the Lord that were consecrated, and those of everyone who willingly offered a freewill offering to the Lord. 3:6 From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, although the foundation of the temple of the Lord had not been laid. 3:7 They also gave money to the masons and the carpenters, and food, drink, and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre to bring cedar logs from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the permission which they had from Cyrus king of Persia. 3:8 Now in the second month of the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began work and appointed the Levites from twenty years old and above to oversee the work of the house of the Lord. 3:9 Then Jeshua with his sons and brothers, Kadmiel with his sons, and the sons of Judah, arose as one to oversee those working on the house of God: the sons of Henadad with their sons and their brethren the Levites. 3:10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. 3:11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord:"For He is good,For His mercy endures forever toward Israel." Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. 3:12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers' houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes. Yet many shouted aloud for joy, 3:13 so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard afar off.
2:1 五旬祭の日が来て、一同が一つになって集まっていると、 2:2 突然、激しい風が吹いて来るような音が天から聞こえ、彼らが座っていた家中に響いた。 2:3 そして、炎のような舌が分かれ分かれに現れ、一人一人の上にとどまった。 2:4 すると、一同は聖霊に満たされ、“霊”が語らせるままに、ほかの国々の言葉で話しだした。 2:5 さて、エルサレムには天下のあらゆる国から帰って来た、信心深いユダヤ人が住んでいたが、 2:6 この物音に大勢の人が集まって来た。そして、だれもかれも、自分の故郷の言葉が話されているのを聞いて、あっけにとられてしまった。 2:7 人々は驚き怪しんで言った。「話をしているこの人たちは、皆ガリラヤの人ではないか。 2:8 どうしてわたしたちは、めいめいが生まれた故郷の言葉を聞くのだろうか。 2:9 わたしたちの中には、パルティア、メディア、エラムからの者がおり、また、メソポタミア、ユダヤ、カパドキア、ポントス、アジア、 2:10 フリギア、パンフィリア、エジプト、キレネに接するリビア地方などに住む者もいる。また、ローマから来て滞在中の者、 2:11 ユダヤ人もいれば、ユダヤ教への改宗者もおり、クレタ、アラビアから来た者もいるのに、彼らがわたしたちの言葉で神の偉大な業を語っているのを聞こうとは。」 2:12 人々は皆驚き、とまどい、「いったい、これはどういうことなのか」と互いに言った。 2:13 しかし、「あの人たちは、新しいぶどう酒に酔っているのだ」と言って、あざける者もいた。
[ 2 ] 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 2:5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 2:6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 2:7 Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 2:8 "And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? 2:9 "Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 2:10 "Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 2:11 "Cretans and Arabs-we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God." 2:12 So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, "Whatever could this mean?" 2:13 Others mocking said, "They are full of new wine."
