[ 7 ] 7:1 Then it was, when the wall was built and I had hung the doors, when the gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites had been appointed, 7:2 that I gave the charge of Jerusalem to my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the leader of the citadel, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many. 7:3 And I said to them, "Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot; and while they stand guard, let them shut and bar the doors; and appoint guards from among the inhabitants of Jerusalem, one at his watch station and another in front of his own house." 7:4 Now the city was large and spacious, but the people in it were few, and the houses were not rebuilt. 7:5 Then my God put it into my heart to gather the nobles, the rulers, and the people, that they might be registered by genealogy. The governor gave to the treasury one thousand gold drachmas, fifty basins, and five hundred and thirty priestly garments. 7:71 Some of the heads of the fathers' houses gave to the treasury of the work twenty thousand gold drachmas, and two thousand two hundred silver minas. 7:72 And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand gold drachmas, two thousand silver minas, and sixty-seven priestly garments. 7:73 So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the Nethinim, and all Israel dwelt in their cities. When the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.
8:1 その日、エルサレムの教会に対して大迫害が起こり、使徒たちのほかは皆、ユダヤとサマリアの地方に散って行った。 8:2 しかし、信仰深い人々がステファノを葬り、彼のことを思って大変悲しんだ。 8:3 一方、サウロは家から家へと押し入って教会を荒らし、男女を問わず引き出して牢に送っていた。
8:4 さて、散って行った人々は、福音を告げ知らせながら巡り歩いた。 8:5 フィリポはサマリアの町に下って、人々にキリストを宣べ伝えた。 8:6 群衆は、フィリポの行うしるしを見聞きしていたので、こぞってその話に聞き入った。 8:7 実際、汚れた霊に取りつかれた多くの人たちからは、その霊が大声で叫びながら出て行き、多くの中風患者や足の不自由な人もいやしてもらった。 8:8 町の人々は大変喜んだ。 8:9 ところで、この町に以前からシモンという人がいて、魔術を使ってサマリアの人々を驚かせ、偉大な人物と自称していた。 8:10 それで、小さな者から大きな者に至るまで皆、「この人こそ偉大なものといわれる神の力だ」と言って注目していた。 8:11 人々が彼に注目したのは、長い間その魔術に心を奪われていたからである。 8:12 しかし、フィリポが神の国とイエス・キリストの名について福音を告げ知らせるのを人々は信じ、男も女も洗礼を受けた。 8:13 シモン自身も信じて洗礼を受け、いつもフィリポにつき従い、すばらしいしるしと奇跡が行われるのを見て驚いていた。
and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 8:2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. 8:3 As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. 8:4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 8:6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 8:7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8:8 And there was great joy in that city. 8:9 But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, 8:10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, "This man is the great power of God." 8:11 And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time. 8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 8:13 Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.
